Name: The Cerulean Mines

Classification: Mining Site
Location: Within the Stygian Caldera lies the Sith Worlds, amidst them is Begeren. A dust ball, made out of rock and sand and gems. There's a valley there. Its walls aligned with statues of old Sith Lords, their faces scorched clean from sandstorms and the boldness of locales. If you wander long enough, you might find a narrow entrance to a cave and inside that cave another entrance to the inner workings of the mine itself.

Development Threads: The Silver Jedi Come (Rebellion)

Affiliation: Fa Holdings & Tai Fa.

Description: Blue hues shine bright throughout the Cerulean Mines. The fog rising up from contact between innate cold and the warmth generated by the machinery only serve to add towards the strangeness of the place. It doesn't help that constant tremors shake the cavern systems -- never quite putting the mining operations in danger, but enough to make the workers quite anxious.

The initial entrance first leads into an atrium of sorts. At first glance it simply contains statues and other decoration, yet, one who uses the Force will soon discover something special about them. The one closest to the entrance is a Force Disperser, making it quite difficult to discover force sensitivity of those within the atrium itself. The one further down the hall to the left, within its own alcove and dominating the hall is an approximation of a Sith Abattar. Those who sit around it, soon find that they are able to instinctively understand one another, even when they do not in fact speak the same language.

Presumably this place was used in the past as a place of meeting between powerful Sith Lords. A place where they could speak in peace while being able to understand each other perfectly.

Down the atrium you go and the deeper you go, the more treacherous the passageway becomes. Decades, if not centuries of mining have left the 'surface side' deposits empty and depleted, while the hunger of the Sith could not be sated easily. They dug farther, leaving more statues and adornments in their wake. If their hunger could not be sated by minerals, rare ores and crystals, then their pride would be fed.

It's empty in the middle regions of the mines. Only the remains of the deceased still linger, the small mining settlements abandoned as the workers dug deeper and deeper.

Until finally the first signs of bounty emerges. The lower levels are still filled with crystals and gems, industrial infrastructure can be found everywhere. Mining carts and tracks, machinery to process them and to maintain equipment, abandoned but salvageable settlements.

Yet, the Cerulean Mines stood empty when Fa Holdings started to become active on the world. The reason for this became apparent quite quickly, tremors shaking the foundations of the deeper levels, strange dreams plaguing those sleep there, a dark fog that threatens to overtake your mind when you linger too long.

There was something here.

That something - unknown to anyone for now - is a sleeping Leviathan of Corbos hibernating in the depths of the mines. It slept, maybe frozen in place by a Sith Alchemist, but its dreams influenced the weak-willed who strayed too close to it.

History: It was during the rebellion of the Sith Order against the Silver Jedi Order that Tai Fa and his fledgling company came across the world of Begeren. A scouting mission obfuscated as a supply run of the locales turned into something more, once Fa saw the potential of the gem industry beginning on the world itself.

After the Silver Jedi retreated and their monitoring equipment was destroyed by the Sith Fleets, Fa send out several scouting parties throughout the planet. They found numerous sites, yet, the Cerulean Mines was the one that struck Fa's fancy immediately.

The farther they explored it, the more Tai realized that he had stumbled on something better than a simple mining site. There was darkness here, the remains of other organizations using this as their stronghold, perhaps.

Then, they reached the lower levels and the Thirriken Sith knew that this place could not fall into the wrong hands.

He immediately ordered his men to pull back to the higher levels -- before they would be struck with the madness that crept -- and after a few hours of exploring, left himself as well. Yet, plans were in motion, the Space Peacock was not afraid of the tremors or the whispers; he simply had to get creative around exploiting the resources in the depths.

In the meantime Fa Holdings silently claimed the place and several other mining facilities in medium proximity.

There was always another plan.

Intent: Establish Fa's Sith Domain within the Sith Worlds and add some nifty lore to it.
