Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
There's one at the door
At the gates of eternity Is it thief, thug or whore?
There's one at the door And there's room for one more
Till the end of Creation
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To further develop lore on Ahch-To

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Cave
  • Classification: Cave
  • Location: Ahch-To
  • Affiliation: The Maiden
  • Accessibility: THe island itself is open for ships... behind illusionary mists and raging storms but there are no mechanical defenses impeding. With cliff faces and height, trees and rocks making landing on the island itself improbable but not impossible. The real power of keeping it away is in the force illusions used by the lady of the cave... from messing with visitors sense of direction, to making them think it impossible mentally to actually reach. In small ways that will generally not harm the people there but deter them.
  • Description: A moderately sized island in the middle of mist anfd storm. Secluded even by the standards of Ahch-To's ocean with sheer cliffs, lush overgrown forests and a single high mountain able to look out on everything there. Most can walk across it in a handful of hours if they know the way and the reef around it is deep enough it can break storms but won't destroy the boats of the caretakers.
POINTS OF INTEREST
The Gates of Eternity: At the entry of the forest, marked only by two wooden arches formed from interwoven tree branching hanging overhead. With a gong on one side obscured.. the gate uses ultrasonic waves to disrupt and disorient subtly a beings sense of direction allowing them to wander around the forest while thinking they are going the way that they want. The gond canceling it out and announcing their coming to the lady of the cave.

Flower Patch: A beautiful meadow in the middle of the forest that can be stumbled upon. Urchin flowers dotting it as the unaware who wander in can be stung with the smaller stingers and have swelling but it is more made to deter and keep away the people then harm or kill them.

The Inner Chambers: The home of the maiden, laid out simple with a bed area, deeper sections of the cave allowing her to preserve meats and harvested food. A living and work area she is able to host a small group if they come to her.

SECURITY
Maximum

The island itself is cliff faces, with protection from the sea. The smallest pathway ascending up smaller stones that have been caved along the side and blend in from most angles making it a natural illusion to find. Above the trees obscure most of the area and are overgrown to be almost impassable in areas. The mountain at the center has a winding pathway going around it to the mouth of a cave that spirals inside and down into the home of the maiden. The entrance can be seen but the pathway is blocked by illusion based force abilities twisting and bending the senses so most will wander around and always find themselves back at the beginning of the path. The tree obscuring a bell to announce oneself to the lady of the island. Area of the forest itself present different challenges, from a patch of semi- living flowers that aren't entirely threatening but can annoy and chase off to older things collected. Even getting on the island though is the biggest challenge as it sits in the center of the sea on Ahch-To surrounded by mists that are meant to befuddle the mind and the senses to those on ships and obscures sensors from aerial vessels and ships in orbit. Around the mists storms rage sending massive waves swirling around the island and creating what many of the caretakers consider a dangerous region of the world.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
There is not much known about the early history of the island. The caretakers told the Silver jedi about it as a legend. SOmething fishers would find if they went to far out and got lost in a storm. They would wash up on the shores and pass out again. Or see land in the distance before it was swallowed by mist. The jedi researchers suspected it was something more and with the jedi temple being used they set out to research other parts of the world. The Jadeites master herself being the one to go with her knowledge of anomoly.... and that is what they found... an island in the middle of the storm and mist... concealed from the sight of others to be avoided... scaling massive cliff sides and trekking through a forest until they found the gongs to announce themselves.

It was then that they met her.. the maiden and the woman was more then human despite her looks and the force was strong with her. She welcomed them and even made some tea making a point to speak in the native tongue for each jedi who was in the team even naming their species. The jedi conversed and learned that the island was her home and she preferred to be left alone... usually returning those who wash ashore to the nearest village as that is normally where they come from. She had made the wards and illusions that concealed it and the path to her home through the forest. So after the tea the jedi left her and made notes about the island and how unless something major happens it is to be avoided. THey could not find it on sensors but they knew its location and could reach it.

The Jadeite continued to work and they got permission to observe the island and even chart it. Taking note of the illusions that had been created being close to Fallenassi in their degrees and complexity but this wasn't the white current. They were able to note how despite it being meant to deter and keep people away it didn't harm... it didn't make it intentionally dangerous for them to get lost as eventually the forest always returned them to the entrance usually tired and not wanting to continue. The woman in the cave rarely approaching them unless they had questions which she was willing to answer in exchange for them telling her things.. stories and secrets in the campfires they would create. Her appearence changing as she was able to approach each other them.

With tie island largely out of the way most groups who would come to the planet ignored it... some never finding it in the large ocean of the world.
