Dev The Catalyst Protocol: Trials and Ethics

Development on Factory, Codex, etc. roleplay.

At last the running had stopped. At least for the time being. Diarch Reign Diarch Reign and Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik had both offered me sanctuary and laboratory space. I had delayed their offer for a little while as I did not want them or their people to be targeted because of my research. That just would not be fair to them. The ongoing bounty on my head increased the level of stress that I am under. And if I am going to conduct my research properly, I need to have some of that stress taken away.

The burden also should be shared. Mr. Usher Mr. Usher is one that I could contact, however he has a lot on his plate. I should only provide him with updates. As well as training if my efforts are successful. The specimen that he left me continues to regrow after it's brave attack on a chiss bounty hunter that tried to capture me. I feed it well and keep it comfortable within a larger teranium. It deserves the best for doing it's best to protect me.

So with Mister Usher busy, who does that leave? I think back on other scientists that I have come across recently when I was invited into Imperial space. Their plans to expand on my research did not fit with mine. But perhaps one of their scientists could spare the time to work with me.

I bring up my datapad and construct a message to him:

Dr Thann,

I hope that you are well. This is Dr. Terallo. We met not so long ago on Mister Imperius' project. My own research that his project has based as taken a welcoming advancement. As much as I have been conducting this research more or less on my own; I do require an extra hand and watchful eye.

Please let ms know if you are available.

~Dr. Terallo.

I send the message off to him and continue to set up the new laboratory. There is no sense in giving my coordinates if he is unavailable with his time.

Something of a Scientist
Kelric had been busy recently, he had recently been contacted by an interesting lady who had recruited him to assist her with a project that caught all of his attention. Recently, he had begun to have more time off from that project as the individual in charge seemed to have a good grasp on what she was doing, really only contacting him when she had need of him.

It was as he was sat at a cafe having some tea that he received a message from one Dr Terallo. It was a name that struck a familiar chord with Kelric, recalling her from a meeting held by Imperius some time ago. After reading her message, his interest was piqued so he sent his reply.

Dr Terallo,

I am doing well, thank you for asking. I hope you are doing well in turn. I do recall you from when we last met, though I do regret that we did not share many words. I would be more than happy to come and assist with your project. I feel the details of such are far too confidential for any messages, so please know I am available to meet up at any time you may choose.

Yours faithfully, Dr Thann

With that, Kelric sent his reply, keen to hear back from the fellow researcher, and curious as to what her own project was about.

It did not take too long for a reply to be sent to me. At least I had assumed that what I had heard was a reply to my most recent message. Returning to my datapad after fixing up one of my holo-projector microscopes; I open up the new message and read it carefully.

Dr. Thann is very right to assume that any talk of the research is too confidential for discussions over the holonet. Even while under heavy encryption it is still relatively unsafe. Reading to the end of the message I find it to be a little strange that he signed off with yours faithfully. Such a phrase is something that I am used to married couples using during their communications to eachother. Not something that two strangers would use for one another. Still, it could just be an honest mistake or maybe something akin to his own culture. So I will not point it out during my response.

Dr. Thann,

I am well, and I thank you for your discretion in this endeavor. We shall indeed have many shared words upon your arrival. I have attached my coordinates to this message for your convenience.

I look forward to your arrival.

~Dr. Terallo

I send off the message and then quickly resume my work at hand. Afterall my laboratory should be ready as soon as Dr. Thann arrives. I am certain that I will have a couple of days at least, depending on his availability. And that amount of time is plenty.

Kelric quickly got a response from Dr Terallo, thanking him for his interest and had a set of co-ordinates attached. Kelric looked over the co-ordinates before finishing his cup of tea. He then picked up a briefcase he had next to him as he left the cafe to the spaceports. It would take him a few days to reach the location, especially since he had yet to acquire his own ship, so he'd have to take public transport as close as he could before he may need to hire a private vessel to fully reach his destination.

He stepped onto the public transport after getting a ticket and began his fairly lengthy journey to meet up with his fellow researcher and see just what he project was all about.

As expected, it took a couple of days for Dr. Thann to arrive. I had gotten word upon the transports entry just outside of orbit. Certain passports had been highlighted by the local government and his was one of them. It helps a lot to know the leaders well, afterall.

Guards flank either side of me as I stand at the port of entry. My lab coat had been traded in for a fitted blazer overtop of a skirt. I have never been the type to wear trousers, afterall.

Knowing what eachother looks like makes it easier to spot us both. So as I see him exit the transport I raised my hand for him to see; "
Dr. Thann. Over here, if you please."
