Private The Catalyst Protocol: Shipping Funds

Living and working on the run is not what I am used to. On the contrary, I am used to living under the safety of a dome on a single planet. But things change just like people do. And although I hardly think that I have changed much; the same cannot be said for my circumstances. No longer a CEO, Director, politician or anything close; I am just a lady working for herself on her own research project. And that project has brought me a lot of attention; both good and bad. Which brings me to constantly be on the move.

My funds are dwindling unfortunately. Even though I have cut down on my meals to two a day, they still cost credits. Not to mention setting up the decoy labs and the near endless costs of fuel and labor as I hire various small spacecraft to fly me around. I am sure that I could take shelter on the homeworlds of some that I know; but I do not want to endanger them. And not everyone will approve of my research. Most especially if they are Force Wizards.

I have one more decoy laboratory to create. This one shall be on Kwenn. Not the station in orbit above it, but on Kwenn itself. It is just one more piece in the puzzle that will hopefully have everyone tailing me to be chasing their tails. That will leave me free to operate elsewhere.

But I am not used to asking people for credits. If they owe a debt, then it is different. Yet this is needed. If I am not successful, then I at least have other options available. Still I send out a coded message; hoping that it will not be intercepted along the way.

Mister Dashiell,

I hope that you are well.

I am not proud of myself for asking, but I could really use a loan to help me to secure the hiring of a ship to move some of my research equipment to a new lab as soon as possible.

Please let me know if you can accommodate this.

Liin Terallo.

A small ping as he got a message on his datapad. A message from one Liin "Tera" Terallo Liin "Tera" Terallo , which was surprising given her last message made it seem she was going underground. Or on the run. It wasn't entirely clear. He had yet to ask Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell if his girlfriend, or suspected girlfriend, was okay. Bale hadn't mentioned anything and sometimes he found his youngest son tight lipped in aspects of his personal life.

Surprise grandson case in point.

Mister Dashiell,

I hope that you are well.

Liin Terallo.

A loan? Not a financial company, but he could also see why Liin wouldn't reach out to one.

Miss Terallo,

A pleasure to hear from you. Hope you are well.

I can provide a loan, what is the amount you desire? Second, would you like any company vessels to move your equipment?

Should the funds be wired or would you like me to deliver in person?

-J. Dashiell

I did not have to wait long for a response, which is not quite surprising to say the least. He is a businessman, afterall, and I know very well that their hours are long.

I read over his response and ponder over what details to give. I do not wish to alarm him or to put him or his company into harm's way. I do not need any blood on my hands. Most especially the blood of those that I know. It was bad enough when Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell stumbled upon my lab along with a number of others. It was very fortunate that he got to leave without coming to harm.

With my pondering over, I write out my response to him:

Mister Dashiell,

Thank you. I am as well as can be expected. I also do not want to risk any of your company's vessels. My latest research is drawing too much unwanted attention. For that reason I do not want to put yourself at risk either, so a wire transfer will be best.

40,000 credits should be enough. And I will pay it back, plus interest. I promise. The Terallo's always keep their word.

Liin Terallo.

Reading the message, brow furrowed before typing a reply.

Miss Terallo,

I own the largest salvage company in the galaxy. I have access to vessels far beyond my own - hunks of junk - but workable to the point they would not get a second look. Something for you to think about and the offer will still stand. No crew would be harmed, I can send droids. Two less droids would be off little concern.

40,000 is more than doable. Would you like Balun to deliver it to you? I know what its like to be apart from the ones we love.

Here at your service,

J. Dashiell

Another quick reply is received. I read over it carefully. Mister Dashiell was somewhat correct. He could put together some kind of vessel for me, but it is the paper trail that I worry about. Having droids as crew is also ideal, and also it was not something that I had thought about before. Afterall droids had never really been in my employ.

His next paragraph caught me offguard. Very much offguard. Was that rumor still persisting?! I thought that I had escaped all of that! It was one of the reasons that I had left my old life behind. I did not need any further embarrassment or ridicule. Afterall young Mister Dashiell and I have never had physical contact; let alone enough to be considered to be in love with eachother. It was an absurd notion, most especially with the path that I am currently on.

But he does not need to know of those details.

Mister Dashiell,

I will accept your offer for a salvaged vessel crewed by droids, just so long as there is no paper trail. Thank you.

And no, young Mister Dashiell does not need to deliver the funds. Respectfully I ask that you please do not fall for any rumors about me. They are false and with no basis in fact. A wire transfer will be fine.

Thank you.
Liin Terallo.

Rumors? What rumors? Judah had not heard anything regarding Liin "Tera" Terallo Liin "Tera" Terallo since her departure. He hadn't really heard much when she was on New Cov, often reclusive in her nature on the planet. It wasn't a surprise she was ; the woman and her family had deep ties to New Cov and therefore would be called upon by responsibility.

His notion about Miss Terallo being in love with Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell stemmed from the fact his son, now independently wealthy from a trust fund and now a company, would take on 'bodyguard' work for the woman. It just seemed a nod and a wink in their type of circles, a way to have a relationship without jumping through the hoops required of someone in a certain strata of society.

No paper trail. These vessels are literal trash taken from hyperlanes or wrecks. Most times we have zero idea where they came from unless it was a major galactic battle. Please provide coordinates for the vessel. Once we receive those I will send the droid crew out.

Wire transfer done. Do not stress about re-payment.

I let out a breath as I read over the message. Phew! He didn't press or pry into the matter further about me apparently being in love with his son. I cannot explain exactly how I feel about Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell ; only that we argue a lot. Never loudly, no. We keep our volume at a respectible level, as well as our temperment. But still, we come from vastly different lifestyles that highly conflict with one another. It just would not work out. Plus with everything going on in relation to my research; allowing anyone to get close would just put them in danger. So in my perspective it is not worth the risk.

Mister Dashiell,

Thank you very much. I shall attach my coordinates to this message. A repayment will be made as soon as I am able.

Respectfully,
Liin Terallo

Judah sent a message back. Again with the re-payment. While the old salvager could understand the sentiment, he certainly wasn't hurting for credits to need an immediate repayment.

Miss Terallo,

No rush, I have plenty of credits. Perhaps you can join the Dashiell family for dinner once you're in a better position.

Please keep me updated.

-J. Dashiell

Another message comes through. I was not expecting it. For a brief moment I had thought that the message would of been from someone else. However it was Mister Dashiell again. He seemed to of had a couple of more thoughts. The first being the matter of repayment, and the second being that of an invitation to dinner with his family.

Oh no. However would I dispel the rumors about myself and his son if I am to show up at their dinner table? I close my eyes for a moment to give myself some time to think. I need to craft a response; a correct response. Decorum dictates that I must accept the offer, yet actually going through with it would put me in a vulnerable position. And I do not like to be vulnerable around others. It gives them even more reason to look down on me.

Opening up my eyes, I soon begin to type up a reply as I just allow my instincts to kick in and write it for me.

Mister Dashiell,

Thank you for your understanding, as well as the dinner invitation. I am uncertain as to what the future will hold. Yet if all goes well, then I will let you know.

Regards,

Liin Terallo.
