There is much to gain with rejoining the work force. Putting myself into some sort of office and become a productive member of society had it's charms. However I am not yet ready for such things. And my research will indeed help society in the future. It is just that it will take some time.

Fortunately time is something that I have in abundance now that I have been offered safety and security.

At the mention of Varlo and having a security detail, I rediscovered my voice again and spoke up. "A security detail would be lovely. At least for a while. Until there comes a time when I no longer fearful. Thank you."

Rellik inclined his head, the corner of his mouth softening with a quiet smile. "Then it shall be done. Varlo will see to the arrangements personally, and your security will remain until you decide otherwise. This is your home now not a cage, but a place where you can rest without fear."

He let the words linger, not heavy, but steady, a simple truth spoken as promise. "Take your time, Liin. Your work, your healing, your life… all of it will be yours to decide, free of chase or chains."

His gaze shifted once toward Reign, then back to her. "Welcome home."
