OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: [ I am making this lore submission to expand on the lore of a new faction I am creating called The Bulwark Coalition, official history, and lore of the parties past and present is crucial towards creating a fun and engaging group to write about and be apart of! ]
  • Image Credit: [ Website artwork for our HQ, "The Hold", can be found here. The sigil of the group can be officially found on this website.]
  • Canon: [ N/A ]
  • Permissions: [ N/A at the moment, will update as the story is fleshed out.]
  • Links: [Hollastin Simeon Karth]
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: [ The Bulwark Coalition ]
  • Classification: [ Governing Party/Family Started Faction ]
  • Affiliation: [ Simeon Karth is the current head of the faction, no current political affiliations, although bound to change in the near future. ]
  • Organization Symbol: [The Sigil of TBC, representing the strong defense in the face of adversity.]
  • Description: [ The in-character purpose of this organization is to create strong alliances and make The Bulwark Coalition a feared name throughout the galaxy. We want our enemies to pray when we land on their home planets, and we want our people to rejoice when we return with the riches and glory of victory. Soldiers here are treated with respect and gifted handsomely for their efforts in battle. The OOC purpose of this faction is to give a fun and unique spin on the regular sci-fi filled star wars fun, and add a more "Historical" and "Medieval" feeling to the experience. Characters who are interested in legacy, glory, and political writing will have an amazing time as apart of this group. ]
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: [ TBC is located on the planet Hollastin at the moment, with its headquarters being "The Hold" which is a large, fortified castle on the inside of a waterfall. Difficult to locate, difficult to breach, and inside is kept as many mysteries as a lost sith Holocron.]
  • Domain: [ The Bulwark coalition holds ground on Hollastin, with influence over the neighboring planets Unagin and Syvris, but their only direct command is over Hollastin. TBC is extremely active in policing, governing, and controlling Hollastin, while only having communications and allyship with Unagin and Syvris. The rule of TBC has led to Hollastin being a quiet planet, no significant issues with crime or anything of the sort. TBC's unusual cruelty towards crime, especially against the organization, has led to a quiet and happy rule for generations.]
  • Notable Assets: [The Hold is the main HQ of TBC, while on Syvris the TBC runs their most profitable business, spice mining and trading. ]
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: [ Simeon Karth is the Grand Commander of The Bulwark Coalition, followed by his group of closely trusted advisors. Each advisor specializes in a different field of expertise. There is a Lieutenant of War, Lieutenant of Credit, Lieutenant of Information, and Lieutenant of Land. To specify, the Lieutenant of Land advises Simeon on how to rule his people. Things like interplanetary relations, governing policies, etc. The Lieutenant of War commands The Coalitions armies, inspiring and leading the troops into battle. The Lieutenant of Credit holds a similar role to Simeon, taking on a more diplomatic role in the faction while manipulating their stock of credits in an advantageous way. Finally, The Lieutenant of Information runs the spy network of The Bulwark Coalition. This individual holds strong ties to the underground of the galaxy. Underneath the Lieutenants are Bulwark Generals, each having more freedom and leniency than normal soldiers, and being able to take soldiers of their choosing with them on missions. Bulwark Generals are copious, with a more personal and intimate relationship with the foot soldiers than the main leaders of the group. ]
  • Membership: [ Not taking into account the actual population of the planet, because the entire planet doesn't help with things like war and take on missions, there ranges anywhere from 100,000 - 200,000 soldiers in the entire Bulwark Coalition. Most of the recruits come from a young age, raised in Wild Space, and looking to bring credits and glory to their families. Sometimes, however, when a strong force sensitive is involved, one of The Lieutenants or the Grand Commander will go and speak to the family individually. Sums of money given to families in order to bring their young children to The Hold can range anywhere from a decent chunk to a large sum, depending on pre-existing medical relations to the child. ]
  • Climate: [To work in TBC, near every member and soldier is entirely loyal to the cause. Days are tense and long, and most of the ground soldiers won't see their families for a long time. Although having a cruel reputation, there is a strong sense of community under TBC, many of their members actually being jolly and outgoing, as long as not near the leaders. Most of the soldiers at a young age are prescribed to a squad from the moment they are initiated to the moment they either get too old or die, which leads to some extremely fruitful and trusting relationships. Tensity is obvious, but when not in The Hold, many squads tend to have a laid back and fun experience on other planets. Do a good job and we will be happy, do a bad job and you'll wish you hadn't. All TBC is looking for is results. ]
  • Reputation: [ The Bulwark Coalition is respected, yet feared. Stories of cruelty towards people who break the law in Bulwark Coalition space ring and echo through the galaxy. People who follow the law and keep to themselves are quite happy living under TBC's rule, yet those who break the law are prosecuted to the fullest extent and tend to stay away. ]
  • Curios: [ On most, if not all, pieces of TBC gear, the sigil of the group is displayed in its fullness. The group also has words that they stand by, usually only muttered by members of the group; "A crushing victory, or none at all!" ]
  • Rules: [ TBC has, as they perceive it, absolute moral understanding of how the world works. Crimes against the government are not tolerated. Crimes against the innocent are not tolerated. The only rule of combat that TBC holds is to fight with honor. Once a Lieutenant, always a Lieutenant. Agreeing and accepting the role of Lieutenant within the ranks of TBC is an extremely honorable, extremely well-recognized title, one that is also a duty for life until killed or otherwise. ]
  • Goals: [ We plan to expand. TBC is in a prime location to begin spreading influence to more of the galaxy than ever before. Being located on Hollastin has allowed TBC to build its resources and army over the course of years. Not only do we want to expand our land physically, but we want to ally ourselves with strong factions in order to spread our political influence over the galaxy.]

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Bulwark Coalition, with a beginning running back to Simeons' early ancestry, began as a way to protect the common folk of Hollastin from foreign invaders. Their castle, The Hold, was built by the people of Hollastin in an attempt to make an impregnable fortress. The perfect defense. Now it stands, years and years later, still standing as tall and as proud as it did the day it was finished. The Karth family line in Hollastin is the most respected and widely known name, back when The Hold was first made, Ira Karth led the people into The Hold to protect from invaders, and successfully fended them off. The legendary siege of Hollastin led to placing Ira on the highest seat in The Hold.

The siege of Hollastin, taking place thousands of years before the current canon, was a year-long onslaught to the planet Hollastin. The Hutts, understanding the value of the natural resources found on its planet and the nearby moons, meant to take it from the native people to try and conquer it for their own. Ira Karth gathered the cities under his command and defended themselves until they reached a treaty, the same piece of information still held in the depths of The Holds' most well-guarded catacombs. To this day, secrets are still held on how a small group of under-manned, under-armed, and under-trained soldiers managed to defend from one of the strongest forces in the galaxy. Because of this legendary siege defense, The Bulwark Coalition garnered itself a reputation of one of the most reliable and trustworthy defensive allies.

The siege of the Hutts on Hollastin has not been forgotten, even after all of these years, and most members of The Bulwark Coalition hold steady grudges against The Hutts' and most Hutt owned business.

Now, in the present day, The Bulwark Coalition is a well respected defensive governing party. Politicians from all over the galaxy hold meetings and seek counsel in the main hall of The Hold, with Simeon and his Lieutenants being sent questions and asked for council from all over the galaxy. The Bulwark Coalition is interested in biding its time until Simeon can get an audience with a leader of a Major Faction. Patience is something The Bulwark Coalition is most familiar with and doesn't mind it whatsoever.

Great start! You’ve done a pretty good job here with this submission, however there are some things that we need to take a quick look at.

No. 1. HIERARCHY

This is a great start, the leader is clear, and the next level below, but what comes after? You expand on one Lieutenant, but the others could be fleshed out in the same manner. It would be great to see you expand here a bit.

No. 2. CLIMATE

Once again you’ve got a good start, but let’s revisit the template here.

8-E81977-C-396-B-44-F2-BF6-F-433-B73-CEF0-FE.jpg

What we are looking for here is what it is like to be part of the organization. Do members enjoy it? Can they expect strict leadership? What is the overall feel? As it reads now this section feels more like job descriptions which could fit under the membership or hierarchy section better.

Your final two sentences in this section are more akin to what this section is looking for. That would be a great place to start and expand.

No. 3. HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Personally I just want to know more. The Legendary Siege of Hollastain sounds cool, but what was it? My curiosity is piqued! There is great opportunity to paint a great picture here.

All in all this is good work, and a great start. Tag me here when you’ve addressed some of the items here and we’ll get this moving for you!

Looking good! There is one more thing we need to take care of to get you on your way, something I needed clarification on as a trainee, again thank you for your patience.

Under the Member section you do an excellent job of telling us how to join OOC, however you do link to an external discord server. There are a couple of issues here.
  1. Your link is no longer valid and doesn't work
  2. This section is not really designed to be a faction ad
What would get this moving along would be something as simple as informing people they could simply contact you, if they are interested in joining. Also one what does joining look like In Character? This section is definitely geared more toward that than the OOC side.

Great work! Thanks for the edits, and once we get this one taken care of we will see about passing this up to my trainer for review!
