Dominion The Bryn'adûl | Securing the Corridor I | Barab I

The Bryn'adûl | Securing the Corridor I | Barad I
sparth-colonie-2-final-small.jpg

Look upon this world.

Barab I.

It has no great populace, no great cities nor resources. A world terraformed for ease, and left behind. But that does not make it useless or unimportant, merely untapped. Barab I will be vital to securing the corridor, we will take these worlds out from under those who would swear to protect this Galaxy. We will take their worlds, their resources, and we will build better worlds than they could've ever dreamed of.

This dry red sand world, is but one of many. But like Draelvasier even as one of many - we will ensure its purpose is fulfilled.

nPtf0ba.png

OBJECTIVE - Break in the new mettle [Zealots/Risen-Srael]
The population of Barab I is centred around one large fortress-city. On either side of this city, two
Siege Towers have reduced their outer defences to ashes. However, there is an issue halting our advance, this city produces a localised shield stopping us from getting our Siege Towers close and deploying our forces across the various levels of the city. Destroy the Shield Generator located in the upper-centre of the city. Be wary, it is guarded by mercenaries and Jedi watchmen.

OBJECTIVE - Crush the Defiant [Brutes/Drones/Shamans/Ashaka/Others]
Landing via Gunboat, a portion of our forces have made it to the outer walls - high above the ground below, anti-air turrets are turned on our Ra'maks and Siege Towers. A total of six exist around the city, deploy in small groups and ensure these AA Guns are destroyed!

OBJECTIVE - Highway Bloodbath [ANY]
We have broken through their main space port entrances, flood into the city and halt the preparation of their military forces. We will attack from all angles and ensure no support arrives to save the Generator or the AA Guns.

Sarask breathed a slow hiss. Another day, another generator to be destroyed. She rubbed, or more accurately, scraped her left weapon along her crystalline armour. She couldn’t quite feel it, but the sound was pleasing to her, as well as the vibrations from underneath. Her objective this time was to destroy the shield generator. It was located in the upper centre of the city, and is well guarded. It seemed as though it has been stopping the siege towers.

Having them stand around left them as very vulnerable targets, so they’d have to be sent on their way as swiftly as possible, lest they get destroyed from afar somehow. She sighed, it sounds as though she had some time, but the Bryn’adul didn’t enjoy waiting around during a battle. She kept low as she snuck through the debris of buildings and aliens alike.

Apparently there were Jedi here, how many did they have to kill before she stopped seeing them? They were like cockroaches, coming out of the woodwork everywhere she turned her head. It was aggravating, annoying. She hissed to herself again, shaking her head. At least before this battle’s done there’ll be a few further less.

He threw the Turret aside, grasping the reptilian barabel by the throat as he approached - a curved blade in hand as it scratched the breastplate of the large Brute; throwing the barabel slime off the side of the platform. The reptile fell for a solid minute before splattering all over the ground below. His two wrist blades dug into the back of another, his back turned as the other Brutes of the 10th were mopping up this area. Galak raised the writhing barable into the air, throwing him to the left; slamming into the wall and dropping to the ground behind him.

Another leapt from the upper platform, carrying a disruptor. The blasts from his rifle rippled off of the Verikast plates, the atomic tearing creating seering white cracks on the front of his armour. Galak grappled the barrel of the weapon in his free hand, pushing it upward and away as he thrust the twin wrist blades into the throat and face of the barabel, the reptile slime chocking and gargling as the blades tore through the face of the reptilian slime. Galak used the body to absorb the blasts of more weapons, hefting up his turret and opening fire; using the corpse as cover and recoil.

hThe two shooters dropped, massive spike rounds lodged in their bellies as they crumbled; the AA Gun was up ahead - either they took it out, or more of their forces would get taken out.

(OCC: My first post in this faction, so sorry if I mess something up)

Voridus must destroy a shield, simple enough. He has been informed that the siege towers can't make their main assault with it up so he must move fast. Voridus must also be careful the shield will not be a easy target, mercenaries and jedi stand in the way.

Voridus and his squad nodded to eachother signaling they were ready to go.

Voridus and the squad made his way to the wall, he then began to cut through a weak point in the metal. Once he was through he looked around for any guards, two were in the street that went to the upper levels, and others were in the area. Voridus pulled out two throwing blades and took aim. Voridus launched both blades at the two standing in the road, the first blade hit the guard in the throat and the second in the chest. Both gaurds fell to the ground without anyone else noticing.

Voridus and the others headed towards the two fallen gaurds, they hid behind crates and broke down speeders to avoid detection. The squad hides the bodies and moves on towards the upper levels.

Ripples of black and shadow encircled the Primarch as he directed the Draeyde like tendrils of black air; cutting through one after another. They encircled him, coming from all angles. Drek'ma raised a force barrier with his mind, a semi-circle directly in front of himself. The blaster fire rippled against the barrier, like waves against the current. A ultimately futile show of offence, not all too dissimilar to their attempts to stop him.

The Draeyde soured through the air, splitting into three smaller tendrils that sprung up from the ground - devouring the leg of one soldier as the others took the upper left side of the seconds face and tore a hole in the abdomen of the third.

As the barabel soldiers turned to fire at the Draeyde, Drek'ma released the barrier; standing aside a Rhivak leapt passed him, trampling down the barabel and mauling them with her horns.

"Primitives."

The ports have been assaulted. Several small squads of Bryn flooded through to their assigned sectors. Sethrak raised his 2A Wendigo Spiker, looking through the scope to view the city. The space port obviously gave a good observation point, as well as a FOB for the Bryn as it was the high ground.

Around the city there were several ports, Sethrak chose one to the East. Soon the Bryn would attack from all sides to disrupt any reinforcments.

For the goal, Sethrak chose the 2A to scout and spot any movement as well as observe battles outside of his view. If things got close, he had his fists.

He expected the city to focus on defending, though it was possible that they would sally forth and join the main battle. Either way, the first step was to set blockades. Sethrak thus ordered the Bryn around him to begin blocking main roads and transport routes.

As for him, he would set up a spot to continue his observation, and support the troops from a distance. Preferably a place to lay down to support his steadiness, as the 2A Spiker was a heavy gun.

Well, she may as well get started. No time like the present, as the inferior species say. She wasn’t sure what kind of present they were offering but generally the head of a jedi did the trick when she was ordered to bring something to the higher ups. Or a sith, though truth be told, she hadn’t faced one of those yet. Or just a general force user. She wondered when she’d get to fight a Sith, but here she was thinking again.

Sarask moved low along the ground, having passed through the shield. The colour of the planet wasn’t the worst she’d been in, but it was stupidly hot, as expected of a red sand world. She could just barely handle it, but the sooner she managed to infiltrate the building holding the shield generator the better.

She swiftly switched to one of the pieces of metal to avoid a mercenary group. It seemed as though they were prepared for intruders this time, she had to outright stop and hold as they passed, lest her noise alert them. It was only after she was in the clear that they actually looked around though, so maybe they were just savvy to having more people. Either way, she’d have to climb up to the city now.

The most unique Hraelk Axe in his hands and the Honour guard armed and armoured for battle behind him the mountain of muscles decided to land the attack on a specific tower at first in the hope of taking them down quickky and properly . Once a few mens breached the wall with the fire power of the Crusader Balistas , Garrosh was the first to step on the fray, and the first step was to butcher the defenders of course, Garrosh order to his mens to protect his flank with a constant fire of the Model 93, killing many guards, but a group of Jedi manage to avoid it and jump to engage the Elite force. Ordering his warriors to switch in CQC combat Garrosh himself kill the first Jedi attacking him with a very casual left punch, The Jedi now broken in half probably don't expected a brute to be that fast and skilled.

Voridus cut down more gaurds as the squad approached a shaft in which they would climb. The turbolifts would be deactivated or heavily gaurded, he didn't want to be openly found out yet.

The climbed the shaft to the next level, this ones security was oddly low, they quickly moved to the next, going through another shaft. When coming out to the top they saw the shield generator not to far away, but the also saw the small army of mercenaries, gaurds, and.......jedi. They came as far as they could without an open fight. Voridus and the other members of the group took out weapons and attacked. Voridus went straight for a jedi with his back turned.

Galak lead his Brutes forward, crashing into the enemy forces as their defences grew thicker the closer they got to the enemy lines. Galak shot down one after another as they popped out from cover. This was what he was designed for, he was built for. Since birth, he had trained to become a warrior. Since birth, Galak had fought and pushed forward to serve the Chieftain. To serve the Draelvasier. Another dropped from above, instinctively Galak dropped and rolled away; dropping his Turret as he bore his wrist-blades - dashing at the assassin from above now pushing to their feet.

He had been designed as the perfect warrior, his soft-clay shaped by the Chieftain himself. He had become more, and with every battle his strength grew. The Emissary lunged forward, plunging the dual wrist-blades into the stomach of the assassin, using the physical momentum of his own body to slam the assassin into the cold hard metal below. For a moment, they would exchange a glance. Galak's unforgiving boiling red eyes fixating on the dying and scared gaze of the assassin who only moments ago attempted to take the Brute's. He had no sympathy for them, this was the way of the world, one warrior against another and only the strongest walks away. Strength, a quality he often pondered on at length.

From his knelt position, Galak was vulnerable - reaching for his sidearm as it was blasted away from his hand, leaving him defenceless. Bolts of plasma carried in masers battered against his hardened Verikast, knocking the Emissary back on his hands and knees as he rolled across to the Turret, hefting the weapon upright in his two hands as the Tower Shield expanded from the barrel of the turret, providing Galak with an improvised bipod - looking through the slits of the Shield, Galak fired in short controlled bursts, obliterating the heads of multiple Barabel slime.

Leading drones was more of a chore than it was a point of command. After landing via gunboat he and his forces made a rush to the outer walls. They'd been tasked with taking out one of the six anti-air guns across the city that were currently attacking their siege forces. As Tolfik and his forces ran across the desert surface of the planet they began to receive fire. This wasn't unexpected, when you lead a horde of forces towards a populated area the enemy was bound to fire, this was different though. As they neared the outer walls of the city Tolfik saw a small group of Barabelians trying to defend one of the breaches the Bryn'adûl forces had made in the wall of the city. What a hopeless attempt. As they neared the reptilian soldiers the fire they received got heavier but that was the moment his forces started to fire back.

Spiker fire had started to get to the Barabelians now. About half a dozen fell as his drones fired upon them, a decent chunk of their forces. As they neared Tolfik knew some of his forces were falling to fire too, but he didn't care much at all. Drones were made to fall, it was he, the Drone Commander, who was made to punch the real holes in the enemy. As they got even closer more Barabelians fell, more drones fell. On both sides casualties mounted but it was clear what the outcome was going to be. That's when Tolfik came in range. The moment he came in range he opened fire with his Shredder handgun. The shards from the weapon flew out and he struck half a dozen Barabelians with his first magazine. They'd die from the exploding shrapnel within time, no need to worry about them. After reloading Tolfik fired at 2 soldiers atop a pile of rubble near the foundation of the wall. Two shards hit one and he fell, while two more shards missed the man beside him. Not to be outdone Tolfik lined up his shot and landed 4 shards into the reptilian's chest. Not a moment later the shards supercombined and exploded, killing another three soldiers. By now Tolfik and his drones had reached the base of the wall and the Barabelians were retreating, attempting to save themselves from the wave of slaughter hurtling towards them.

After the Barabelians had retreated Tolfik ordered his drones to start climbing the rubble of the wall into the city so that they could pursue their main objective. He was sure this mission would successful without a doubt, there was nothing on the planet that could possibly stop the wave a zealous infantry that Tolfik lead. They'd destroy those anti-air guns with ease.

"Go, go, go! Climb over the foundation of the wall and assemble into the streets, we'll advance and attack soon!"

Tathra's personal Gunboat whipped overhead just beyond the edge of the city shield, the Gunboat shook as it came to a stop; the Titan's giant red paw latching onto a bracing handle attached to the curved overhead adjacent to the opening hatch. Separating into two halves, the hatch receded into the upper and lower halves of the Gunboats starboard side, revealing the battlefield to those within. Opaque aureate eyes scanned across the battlefield; noting in particular two groups. Forces like those lead by Galak and the fresh commander Tolfik had moved to weaker the enemy, drawing them into open conflict. Now, his own would move in to secure their positions and ensure the destruction of the anti-air placements.

"Deploy our forces across the battlefield, supply support to those who need it! Stand together, our unity makes us strong!" The Titan barked, speaking to those within the confines of the Gunboat.

A fresh wave of gunboats would arrive with Quilxyn protectors in toe, shielding them from the vicious fire of the anti-air placements and allowing them to deliver reinforcements to the Emissary and the various other forces deployed across the outer levels of the cities fortified wall. After the battle of Yurb, Tathra had no intention of appearing absent from his own battles.

He had heard the whispers, whispers of weakness and doubt. He would do his utmost to silence them, if he could. His own doubts plagued him now, the Bendu had told him he would die surrounded by his children. But perhaps not in the way he had hoped. Shaking off the cold nerves as best he could, Tathra turned his attention to their pilot.

"Bring us low on a sweeping path past Tolfik's forces! I will deploy there with our own!" Wordlessly, the pilot acted according to his command; diving through the city shield and heading for a sweeping pass.

Tathra released his grip on the bracing handle, taking several steps back deeper into the Gunboat. His breath quickened as the battlefield suddenly became a blur as the Gunboat flew through the sky.

"Three."

He had one focus, one goal. He had to be the leader he had not been at Yurb, he had to be what his people needed.

"Two."

Otherwise, they were doomed to the same failed existence that had came before.

"One."

Tathra sprinted forward, heavy thuds with every step as he reached the edge of the opened hatch, leaping from within the Gunboat out into the open air. "Hraugh!"
His arms spun slowly as he crashed through the air into the fortress wall, panels of metal and scrap fell from the crumpled section where his fingers and feet had found purchase. He had landed on the archway just beyond Tolfiks position, below was a bridge with a turret placement, hundreds of bullets per second cutting down Drones like the fodder they were. A handheld rocket launcher fired at one of the landing Gunboats delivering his forces to the battlefield, the rocket exploded with what he recognised as a baradium warhead, cracking the Gunboat open like a skull as the charred bodies of Brutes and Drones fell between the cracks as the Gunboat spun out of control, crashing down into the battlefield below.

Tathra leapt from the wall, descending through a hail of fire as he took his Axe from his back; heated kinetic rounds scorched and chipped at his armour, his massive armoured legs denting the ground beneath as he landed. The barabels around him instinctively backing up as the mountainous red Titan darted upward with Axe held in the grasp of his left hand, turning into a half pirouette; Tathra dodged a rocket fired his way - crashing into the wall behind him as the Axe cut threw four, throwing their mutilated bodies from the bridge down onto the battlefield below.

He looked to the battlefield below, to the Drone Commander and his forces.

A barabel crawled away from the Rhivak, ignorantly backing away from the Rhivak and unfortunately for him directly into the Primarch’s path. As he turned on his belly, the reptile looked up into the unblinking gaze held by him - there was no sympathy for his wretched hide in those eyes. There was no remorse.

Lightning lurched down from the white orb in the helm of his staff, singing and scorching parts of the reptile’s body as it squirmed in pain before him. Two more arrived on the platform above but they were quickly silenced as the Rhivak unleashed its massive frontal blast, destroying the extended barb-wired platform they stood on and whatever was left of them was obviously not remarkable enough for Drek’ma to notice.

Turning on his heel, he turned his focus to the platform below; where the majority of the Emissaries forces were. The Primarch telepathically commanded the Draeyde, striking those just beyond the Phalanx - shredding them into mulched little pieces.

The Brutes followed his forward push, leading them into the thick of it. They had heavy fortifications and sandbags all across the extension of the platform, firing with kinetic rifles into the Phalanx push. The bullets battered against his shield, some sliding through the gaps in his tower shields defences, the bullets scraped against the thick verikast plating of his armour. Galak moved forward with stomping steps, roaring at the enemy in frustration. His turret fired rattling blasts against the walls his enemies hid behind.

"Cowards!" Two brutes lay dead underfoot as they slowly moved forward. The Heavies lied in wait behind their line, they had to find a gap somewhere somehow.

Patience was necessary, as was choosing the right time. Uncertain thoughts were held in all their minds, caused by the hurt in their hearts. They had lost at Yurb, a sore reminder of their own mortality. He - had lost an arm, and plenty of his kin. The battle above with their fleet had proven to break them and forced a retreat before they were all lost.

The Draeyde came down like a black shadow, culling the front of the enemy line. That was their opportunity.

"Now Brutes!" Galak roared to the other Brutes.

“Hold fast Emissary! The Chieftain’s forces are incoming!” Drek’ma called from above.

Looking to the sky above, recognising the unique configuration of the Titan’s gunboat. His optimism was not kindly returned, the cold sting of a bullet cut through his shoulder as another ran at his back - however it was quickly caught by the Rhivak, his arm torn off and his head crushed under its massive hooves.

Drek’ma instinctively reached up with his right hand, only remembering he had no hand to have fingers to grasp at his wound. The Primarch sneered in frustration, throwing down his arm in futility like a newborn Baedurin having a tantrum. He snorted at himself, watching as fresh forces were deployed from the gunboats.

10th Regiment Brutes, the personal enforcers of the Chieftain and the corps from where Galak’s warrior efficiency had been born from. They would crush the Barabel slime with ease. The Primarch turned to his personal Rhivak, mentally acknowledging its well done work.

“Heavies, intercept!”

The phalanx split into two groups, sliding behind one and other to create a gap in their forces, the Heavies opened fire into the enemy fortifications, wiping out those that remained from the Primarch’s attack. His words of encouragement did not go unappreciated either. With a nod Galak pushed through the first section of fortifications as the Gunboats of the 10th landed adjacent to them.

From their confines came a pack of Minors, two Mortar squads and a few full Brute Sqauds; unloading nearly sixty Brutes to the opposite side of the platform, flanking the fortifications and enemy positions at the base of the AA turret.

“Forward phalanx! We move to meet our brothers in this fight!” The Brutes of the 10th surged forward to meet one and other, crushing the enemy forces underfoot as they came in contact with them.

The massive turret shook violently in his hands as he cleared from left to right, leaving dozens of decimated bodies in his path.

Whilst their once forces moved to set up Mortar positions of their own near the AA placement, Drek’ma could feel their forces were in peril. The barabel reptile scum had a secret defence hidden somewhere. But it wasn’t hidden for long, dozens of spiralling rockets exploded from the upper levels beyond his sight, slamming down into the newly arriving reinforcements below.

It was times like this that made him wish they had their Ra’maks out on the battlefield, but with the AA placements still active - this was not possible. He had to hone his own senses, finding the minute oscillations of energy. His eyes closed and the world died around him as cold silenced every sound bar the humming of machinery and the loading of more.. Missiles.

In a millisecond, he was no longer where he had once been. Now Drek’ma stood behind the men operating the mortar far above the battle. They had not noticed him yet, nor would they. His mind reached out to them, dominating their thoughts and memories as he forced them to fire the loaded salvo of missiles on their own.

It seemed the full might of their enemy was focused here, unleashing another powerful strike against them. But this time it came from above, a payload of at least twenty small missiles erupted against their new reinforcement lines, decimating one of their own mortar squads. Galak fell to one knee as he slammed his tower shield into an unsuspecting barabel, knocking him to the ground as he slammed the butt of the shield into its skull.

“Forward! Avenge those who fall! Fight for those who still stand!” Galak used the dead body as a recoil suppressor, blasting the heads off of three more before moving forward. Moments passed, and another salvo came.

“Cover!” The Emissary barked, raising his shield overhead in cohesion with the others of the Phalanx. He tensed, squinting - preparing to be struck but it was not so. The enemy missiles had fired on their own line, a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

Voridus ran his blade through the jedi and then cut down two more mercenaries. With the support of his squad they took out many mercenarie, a jedi slashed at Voridus with his blue lightsaber, skimming his armour and barely cutting into him. Voridus brought the blade to the jedis leg and sliced into it. He barely dodged his next attack, but with fire support from his squad he was able to cut down the jedi.

Voridus and his squad made their way cutting and blasting more mercenaries, until the last jedi ordered a retreat to the final level. As the enemy retreated they set up heavy gunners on the next level, and fired down on Voridus and his squad. They were pinned down. All the ways up are likely gaurded, there are to many to just shoot and they have the high ground as well as cover. The best Voridus can do is duck behind a weapon emplacement the mercenaries used.

As the Bryn began to deploy and surround the city, a glimmer caught Sethrak's eye. He repositioned himself and looked toward the light. A small group was approaching on a main road. It consisted of perhaps thirty men.

Sethrak looked ahead of the group and saw there was a blockade already in place around the corner. Sure enough the enemy reached the corner and immediately the Bryn started shooting. A few foes fell, but it was underwhelming. Sethrak looked around the skirmish and found the reason for the under-performance: A jedi lead the thirty men. He was shielding them in a variety of ways, from blocking (the ones he could, at least. Some Bryn ammunition was able to bypass lightsabers) to redirecting the metal shots, and even pushing the Bryn soldiers' weapons before they shot.

Annoyed by the delay, Sethrak decided to use the situation to test his range and accuracy. He found a target: A human male, average height. Lining up the shot, he slowly squeezed the trigger. The 2A Wendigo discharged, recoiling heavily. Sethrak barely saw the shot hit as the recoil threw his aim off. A hit is a hit.

Sethrak took a few more shots, as the foe dwindled. Suddenly, blasts erupted to his right. Smoke covered a road, and the sun made the Warlock squint. As his vision cleared he saw movement. A lot of movement. Instantly he realized what was happening. The small force to the left was a distraction. To the right, a large force was sneaking by to join the defenders in the seige. It was a smart move. The sun made them hard to see and the distraction was well placed.

Sethrak needed to divert his forces away from the newly placed barricades and stop the convoy of renforcements before they flanked the attacking Bryn. He quickly got up, knowing there were too many to snipe. Grabbing a spear, he sprinted to the lower ground and ordered the reserves to quickly engage the convoy.

Next, he gave the order for the barricades to be abandoned. Finally, he made his way to the battle...
