STRENGTHS
- Eater of Light: The Ring, attuned to the Darkside of the Force and the Void which Kol worships pulsates with the 'Black' and consumes ambient light where possible. It can consume Force Light, absorbing it into itself and nullifying the light as it's brought into existence.
- Foci for the Darkside: The Ring is attuned to the Darkside and assists in focusing its wearer to the darkside as well, it amplifies the connection to the darkside and when it absorbs the force, specifically by way of Force Light strengthens that connection further.
WEAKNESSES
- Corruption: The Ring is attuned to the Darkside and when worn influences its wearer to the darkside as well. This is no issue to someone who already adheres to the tenants of the darkside however to a Jedi or someone who adheres to another force tradition it can gradually turn them towards the darkside.
- You can't conceal the Dark: There's no hiding the ring. Anyone wearing the ring will be known to Jedi, Sith or otherwise with a connection to the force and will radiate with the energy of the darkside at a moderate distance.
- Force Nullification: Under any circumstances or situations that nullify the Force the ring ceases to function, whatever presence of the darkside housed within retreating inside completely. None of its strengths or weaknesses function while the force is diminished around it however outside of such areas and circumstances the powers of the ring return.
DESCRIPTION
On Montitia, in the aftermath of Tython Rannan Kol and the Acolytes that follow him attacked and imprisoned a settlement on the planet. When
Valery Noble
and Commandos under her command investigated and engaged the Acolytes in the name of the Jedi and Galactic Alliance the Sword of the Jedi and the Dark Jedi engaged in a duel that took them into the heart of a Ziggurat constructed by the Dark Jedi.The engagement ended when Jedi Master Noble and her Commandos withdrew with 'some' of the captives. In the wake of the battle Kol and the remaining Acolytes enacted their ritual. The Dark Apostle sacrificed hundreds of innocent lives and their souls to the Void to summon a concentrated amount of darkside energy to him. As the ritual concluded and the darkside saturated the area, dimming the very light Kol bound it to a black ring craft of Sarrassian Iron that would contain the darkness he'd summoned.
The Ring absorbs the light, dimming it in its presence and even Force Light summoned by the Jedi is not exempt from its power. The Light it absorbs can strengthen the ring, strengthen its bond to its wearer which amplifies the connection to the darkside.
