- Ankarres Sapphire: Legend has it that this sapphire can only be wielded by light siders. The crystal augments greatly the user's abilities with the Force.
- Firkrann: The crystal imparts an electrical charge to the weapon that contains it making the saber especially devastating to droids.
- Permafrost Crystal: Producing a icy blue blade, wide and powerful, the blade can inflict ice damage to its targets. Due to its properties, the permafrost crystal when focused on a lightsaber cannot be used by anyone else but its builder.
- Phrik Hilts: The phrik on its hilts makes this lightsaber resistant to blows done by other lightsabers.
- Not Waterproof: Contact with a pool of water shorts out the Lightsaber rather quickly.

When becoming a Jedi, Jarael was given the choice of making her own lightsaber. Thanks to her former master, the great general Corran Hoth, she was ordered to run around all over the galaxy to gather its ingredients. The girl searched for the materials all over the darkest corners of its planets before finding the crystals that accepted her as her owner. Favoring two weapons to use alongside her deadly speed, Jarael sculpted a ordinary design for her lightsaber.
When forging the weapon, her master took away one of the two firkrann crystals she gathered and took off his necklace, cracking up the metal on top of the table and delivering to her another blue stone, the Ankarres Sapphire.
