OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To give Kascalion a personal unit of stealth combatants
  • Role: To serve as Kascalion's private unit of assassins and enforcers
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Kascalion Giedfield, Credence, Kage, Kyuzo
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: The Barrow
  • Unit Nicknames:
    • Abaddon's Shadows
    • Creepy Chitheads (Lorale Farmar)
    • Space Ninjas (Lorale Farmar, Hel Kai'dent)
    • Enforcers of Silence (The Sinless of Credence)
  • Affiliation: Kascalion Giedfield
  • Classification: Black Ops | Assassins | Cult
  • Equipment:
  • Description: The Barrow, a myth more than truth, a legend more than fact, the alleged servants of the man who has conquered the veils of science and alchemy to produce things beyond possibility and even the realm of impossibility. They are the shadows within the shadow of death, creatures forged from the depths of the Netherworld itself and given the charge to eliminate all those who would seek to undermine the duties of the Devil Lion.
  • Xenophage Primordial Theme: Five Soldiers (Still Dressed in Black) [Unreleased Song; band intimidated into silence]
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Unique
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Combat Function:
    • Tactics: The Barrow's common tactics involve almost exclusively stealth and reconnaissance and heavy use of their Shadowsuits. These Shadowsuits allow the unit to meld into the shadows like wraiths of legends whilst also protecting them against damages that standard stealth suits cannot. They will use their natural silence to overwhelm foes from unpredictable locations with unorthodox methods.
    • Habits: While The Barrow can be more commonly identified as a black ops unit of assassins, they exhibit traits heavily associated with religious cults. In truth, The Barrow's members are secretly a part of the much larger organization known as The Sinless of Credence, a religion formed by those who follow Kascalion as opposed to the much more charismatic Lorale Farmar and have taken hold on Kascalion's homeworld of Credence. While Kascalion is aware of the religion's existence, he has done almost nothing to lead it, seeing it as little more than a band of fanatics who became disillusioned with their fanaticism of Lorale's "holy crusade." While the members of The Barrow have become less fanatical due to their direct association with their being of worship, they still display these cultish habits in battle and can be heard whispering prayers and arcane incantations whilst stalking their prey, likely as a method of psychological warfare.
    • Goals: To eliminate Kascalion's most dangerous enemies and increase his web of influence throughout not just the Sith Empire, but the Galaxy as a whole. They will stop at nothing short of death to complete their missions and wholeheartedly believe that Kascalion is the greatest Lord and Liege the Sith have ever produced, despite the blatant fact that Kascalion absolutely despises roles of intensive leadership.
  • Members:
    • B-1 "Shadow Lion" (Kage)
    • B-2 "Sanguine Cipher" (Kyuzo)
    • B-3 "Sapphire Mute" (Kyuzo)
    • B-4 "Silent Heart" (Kage)
    • B-5 "Serpent Mimic" (Kyuzo)
STRENGTHS
  • Stealth Mastery: The Barrow are masters of the art of stealth and shadow, capable of becoming one with the darkness around them in a matter of milliseconds. Very rarely, if ever, are they detected by their prey or allies, only making themselves known when they choose to make themselves known. By this point, however, those they reveal themselves to are usually dead on the ground before they catch a true glimpse.
  • Elite Training: Forced to undergo a series of intensive, nigh-fatal training scenarios, The Barrow have developed themselves into elite combatants capable of taking on a wide range of enemies, from squads of veteran soldiers to similar black ops teams.
  • Intimidation: The mere sight of The Barrow is usually enough to intimidate individuals and small groups of enemies into inaction, opening them up to be killed or otherwise incapacitated. Many times has Kascalion achieved his goals by this factor alone, especially in areas of diplomacy where his lack of tact usually prevents him from discussing such matters.
  • Virtually Unknown: Because of their stealth mastery and tendency to leave no survivors, The Barrow exists under a blanket of conjecture and assumption rather than cold, hard fact. This inevitably results in most enemies lacking a cohesive, concrete plan to combat the assassins should they be targeted.
WEAKNESSES
  • Small Numbers: While highly skilled and masters of the shadows, the unit is comprised of a set number of members never to be replaced, even if slain in combat. This inevitably ensures that should the unit be wiped out in a battle, they will never rise again to serve their master.
  • Large Scale Combat: As the unit is designed for small encounters and specialized missions, the large scale combat regularly seen by and associated with the Sith Empire serves as a critical weakness to their operations and survival whenever they are thrust into such situations.
  • Ranged Combat: Due to their specialization in close-ranged combat, and in spite of their possession of blaster weapons and protective armor, the Barrow are greatly ineffective at long-ranged combat and often find themselves at great risk if pinned down far from their enemies.
  • No Vehicles: As they are a melee combat unit, members of The Barrow have no specialized vehicles to their name, meaning they can struggle against foes where such things would have been beneficial.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

When Kascalion Giedfield took on the name of Darth Abaddon and became the Pyramid of Scientific Advancement, he knew that he would accumulate many enemies throughout the Known Galaxy and would need ample protection and enforcement of his rule. As such, he began studying various cultures around the Galaxy to see which species would serve best in such a role and he quickly came to appreciate the Kage and Kyuzo, two races dedicated to combat and glory.

Forcibly capturing five subjects, Kascalion whisked away to his homeworld of Credence where he subjected two Kage and three Kyuzo to extensive training and conditioning to forge them into assassins and bodyguards of great caliber. The process took months and a great deal of Kascalion's Force Energy was spent keeping the subjects alive and empowered until, finally, they emerged clad in black armor and armed with a host of weaponry. Discarded were their birthnames, now gifted monikers suited to their individual traits.

Thus was The Barrow formed, ready to impart the wisdom and the will of Darth Abaddon, the Lord of Ash.

I understand what you mean. I made something similar for one of my chars a while ago. Since at present this submission is using the generic Shadowsuits from Legends, I have to judge it on the basis of that suit's capabilities, as you presently don't have a custom model. If you remove the 'advanced' part, I can approve the submission now.

Then you can submod the unit submission and replace the generic Shadowsuit with your more advanced, Chaos canon version, whenever you have subbed it in Factory. As another option, you can see if there's a suit that fits what you have in mind that's available for purchase in the marketplace.
