The Bandits at Dawn (Mandos/Open)

"Affirmative. Take it easy out there."

The Mandalorian ran to the dilapidated Hokan farmstead. This was the proving ground. This was the event that would carve him as a Mandalorian forever. History has given him a chance to etch himself into the history of the Mandalorians, and he was grateful.

He attached a suppressor to his DL-44. His new Cybernetic hand felt...
Strange

"I'm not going to let those Nerf - Herders give me another limb to replace with cybernetics. We should move quick. Use the battle to our advantage."

He crept up to the farmstead. The deathwatch were too focused on the war they didn't see the three Mando warriors who infiltrated their defences.

"Reporting back in, Vass, do you hear me?"

Kiber nodded and patted Vassara on the back. "With pleasure Vassara," the Mandalorian nodded and he went about his work with three of the Red Legion, as they scoured the countryside to find other Mando warriors. The task was not as difficult as Kiber thought, as he returned to the farmhouse with twelve fully armed, and ready, Mandalorian warriors, looking resplendent in full armour. "What is our next move?" he asked her as Kiber looked over his collected warriors - they were all ready for battle and they would utterly decimate anyone who stood in their path.

"Standfast and help me patch these folks up."

Vassara was immersed now. She was no healer by the standards of the Jedi, but she had studied it briefly under the tutelage of a Master at the Jedi Academy once. There was a lot of damage here and her full focus was going into finding the patterns. The normal patterns of healthy skin in her minds eye were damaged, and the force rushed in to rearrange them. Slowly the wounds began to mend, accelerated by her furious focus. The trick was to replicate the paterns of the healthy skin, to bring the broken cells together and grow them.

And grow they continued, mending flesh and blood ever so slowly.

The Commlink nearby crackled, it was Vauhn reporting in.

"Tell him to relay what defenses he see's give me a tactical view of what we are up against." She murmured, still lost n her healing trance.

Nearby other members of the Legion were treating the more serious injuries, slapping on bandages, spraying self sealing bacta foam. A few were cauterized with a red hot iron, it was the best they could pull together at the moment.

"You heard her, help her patch up the wounded," Kiber approached a wounded farmer and he produced his medical pack and sterilzed the leg wound and packed it with strong gauze and crepe bandages. It would take some time, but the farmer would survive with no lasting ill effects - he then moved onto the next victim, a teenage girl who had a wound to her hand. He sprayed bacta foam on her palm and she winced in pain as her skin began to heal itself slowly. He stayed there, acting as a calming influence on the girl, before grabbing his comlink to talk to Vahn.

"Vahn, it's Kiber. What can you see from your current position? Vassara wants to receive the full tactical picture before making her next move," he said over the comlink. He hoped, deep down, that the Death Watch had not spotted Vahn or the accompanying Legionnaires.

"I don't think we can take this down. Mines are all over. The defences look strong. We could be able to flank their positions and then you could take them out from the front, but I think the competition is too overwhelming for us to simply walk right in. Stay safe, Vass."

Vahn and the two scouts move into position.

"When you're ready."

Most of the heavy work was already completed. Vassara rose still rather weary and looked around. The place was secure enough for the time being. She'd leave half the Legion behind and concentrate on the assault. From the kitchen she walked out into the now mid-noon sun and let it wash over her. She breathed the air and let the sensations invigorate her. Outside the remaining warriors were recovering what was left of the speeder bikes.

They had some in the barn too.

Vassara knelt to pick up a Besk'ad from the ground. It was a large sword, and it looked hard and sharp to her. This must have belonged to one of the deathwatch.

"Alright then."

She whirled it twice before driving the point into the ground as the Mando'ade gathered around her.

"Kiber have the scouts initiate a skirmish. Pick them off one by one, make it look like there's an army out there. Once they are divided and distracted we'll be there, waiting for the signal. When the scouts signal we'll ride in through the front, cavalry style and crush them.
Take the hard structures first and hold them. That should be sufficient cover to mow down stragglers, and any that escape can be swept up by the Scouts."

She broke the ring walking towards the fleet of speeder bikes. With swift precision she kicked the engine into gear and it rumbled to life. She was riding once more, and it felt good. One hand loosened her shattergun from its holster for a quick draw, whilst the other sheathed the Besk'ad in a scabbard conveniently already mounted to the bike.

"Lets roll!"

As one they kicked off, zooming towards the hills just outside the Hokan farmstead. Vassara reached the crest first, giving her a 360 view on the situation. Down below the Deathwatch were strung about the Farmstead, what looked like thirty to forty armored bodies. She simply sat and waited, preparing for the fireworks show from the scouts.

"OK, pick them off one by one, scouts."

Their position had been compromised. The bodies had been discovered.

Vahn took the suppressor off. He despised stealth. He didn't need it anymore. This was a suicide mission. Both scouts were shot and killed by the Death Watch. He was either keeping his head down and slowly picking them off or becoming a martyr. He threw his ion grenade into the distance.

Corpses were everywhere. He had set his DL-44 to rapid fire mode. The onslaught was too much for the young Mandalorian, but he didn't succumb to the fear.

The scene went quiet. Vahn walked past the pool of blood that had been left. He saw something in the distance.

"Is that Vass?"

He had equipped his binoculars. It was Vass. Just as he was about to leap for joy, a remaining Death Watch had thrown a thermal detonator.

He jumped out of the blast radius and shot the Death Watch in time.

He had survived a very very high percentage of not surviving the battle.

"We survived it. Great work, team. I'm sorry I was late for the party, Vass."

Kiber nodded as Vassara sped off on the speeder bike. "Mandalorians with me!!" he shouted, leading them forward into the skirmish. He saw a small squad of Death Watch just up ahead of them, so he took his warriors closer and they engaged the enemy. The skirmish was successful - it made the Death Watch go on high alert for that sector and they became completely distracted from the other tasks at hand. "Our skirmish was successful," he said over his comlink to Vassara. One of the Mandalorians gave the signal while Kiber and the other Mandalorians moved on to their next objective - the pilboxes that stuck out like sore thumbs in the barren landscape.
