Eira was acting in the manner that she believed CT-312 had wanted her to be. The soldier wanted a monster, someone bloodthirsty and reckless. Someone unattached and held no concerns for the lives around her. The coldness that the soldier directed at Eira was met by an equal cold front. Squashing her feelings deep inside, burying the hurt, the feelings of betrayal and the pain of losing something that Eira had not realised had been so important to her until now. Eira returned to the front she held when she first joined the Sith. One that did not care about those around her, that did not believe in morals, connections or respect. She would murder, destroy and do whatever it took to be the strongest, to win.
"
Don't assume that I need the Force, either, soldier. I mentioned it because I see how being devoid of the Force impacts my Master, clearly you don't realise the danger there, or don't truly care about your duty in protecting her." Her words were cold and cruel, she was aiming to be cutting and hurtful now. She was needing to be a monster so she would be a monster. That was the mantra that rang in her mind.
When the new orders from Quinn came through, the remark from CT-312 caused Eira to roll her eyes. It was good to know that Quinn was okay enough to not be nearly dying, not yet at least. "
Orders change, situation means we need to adapt. I still very much doubt that she would pleased that you prioritised your vanity mission over the one she assigned you, soldier." The rifle dropped, it was a weapon that would not be of any use to her. "
I know where my strengths and limitations lie already, live or die. Doesn't matter to me, you chose this course of action so suffer the consequences alone."
There was a blessing in wearing a mask, the voice came across uncaring, cold, robotic. The tears streaming down her face hidden. The pain felt was only something Eira knew about. This was more painful than Eira could have ever predicted. She had only tried to be caring, concerned for her friend's safety because everything felt reckless and escalating in ways they hadn't predicted things going. They had no clue that the High Republic had a weapon that robbed the Force away.
"
I do as ordered by my Master. Perhaps something you should think about considering in the future." Eira spoke, still very thankful that the voice modulator was active. "
Then may death find you swiftly." Eira turned away and headed deeper into the ship. Clearly all CT-312 cared about was dying, then let the soldier be suicidal. It was not her duty to prevent the death of someone so very eager to find it. She would work with people who wanted to live, to push forward and fight with that hunger to live. Eira couldn't stop thinking about how she allowed herself to become so weak, so vulnerable. She had been foolish to think that opening up and letting others see her guard down was good. All it did was create this horrible heartbreak that she felt.
No, she needed to be closed off. She was a monster. She was cruel. Evil. Murderous. That was all people wanted her to be, that was all she needed to be. Anything more was only risking betrayal. Eira would take the bridge, she would find a way to destroy this force void field. Then she needed to head to Dantooine. It had been too long that she had confronted the source of her needing affection, desiring connection.
