OOC Note: The Bacta Riots are a small aftermath story as a result of the Planet of Thyferra being taken over by the Sith Order. Writers can help ease tensions with the protestors, negotiate over their demands, or do the hidden objective about shutting down a spice operation funded by a Republic Senator.
Smoke from burning hover-transports was thick over the marble archways of Theed, turning the afternoon sky grey. Below, the roar of the crowd drowned out the Solleu River waterfalls as thousands of angry citizens packed the plazas. Neon protest signs bobbed above the masses while cobblestones and debris flew through the air, forcing local security guards to brace themselves behind a thin blue line at the steps of the government complex.
The unrest had begun with fear, but that fear had quickly turned into rage. When news spread that Thyferra had fallen to the Sith Order, panic swept through the city almost immediately. Within forty-eight hours, local clinics had exhausted their bacta supplies, leaving wounded civilians, sick children, and emergency wards without the medicine they desperately needed. With nowhere else to direct their anger, the crowd turned toward Chancellor
They had no patience for diplomatic speeches or promises of future supply lines; they wanted Vexx removed from office and demanded a military capable of fighting back against the Sith instead of allowing system after system to fall. As the protests grew more violent, sirens echoed through the grand avenues while rioters smashed through the glass storefronts of medical distribution hubs, desperate to seize whatever synth-flesh, med-packs, and other supplies remained inside.
Riot troopers struggled to maintain their formation beneath a constant barrage of bottles and improvised explosives. With the crowd pushing closer to the government complex by the minute, it was becoming clear that someone needed to take control before the thin security line collapsed and the front gates were breached before nightfall.
THE DELUGE DEN
Republic Intelligence has traced a massive surge of illegal spice circulating through Naboo back to a waste treatment plant on the outskirts of Theed. What intelligence doesn't realize is that the operation is secretly run by Moogan smugglers under the direct payroll of Senator Ilsoon Jul. The Senator is using the facility's heavy machinery as a front to mass-produce Deluge on an industrial scale, building up stock to push his Grace Command project forward and eventually drug Sith populations behind the Blackwall. The Republic must infiltrate the facility, overcome the Moogan Guards and shut down the operation without triggering a chemical disaster in the processing tanks.
