"The Award for Kark up of the Year goes to..."

Oil stains on his arms, his red eyes glowing, Keter entered the main enrance hall to the Theed palace. His gaze swept the hall before locating his target. The implants focused on the young man, his associated data appearing in Keter's sight. He frowned as he approached, masking his good humour. Time to play the stern and scary father. Hah, as if anyone needed his permission to date his daughter. No, they needed Feena's. Still, if the man was so unsure of himself, then the blond would have fun with him. "So you're Glyph? What business have you with me that keeps you from your post?" he snapped irritably.

He flinched at the words and looked over at the man, silently praying to what ever god was watching him. He drew his hands behind him as he stood, crossing them and keeping them out of sight. "Well, it involves my post... well not my post but it involves something..." He sighed and looked up at the ceiling before speaking, his eyes rolling down and focusing on the man. "I wished to ask for your permission to date your daughter... i know this is an odd request and i hope its not taken in the wrong way." His hands behind him were twisting and continuously changing the way they were situated behind him.

Keter stared down at the man.

...

...he knew it. The blond frowned. "And what is her opinion of you?" he asked levelly, fixing the young man in front of him with a red glare as his eyes swept up and down. The boy had a good record of service, and displayed many traits Keter's wife would label as 'good boy'. He almost smiled. Of course his darling daughter would date someone the complete opposite of her father, it was how things went. "You do realize that you have just practically rendered a resignation from your post as well, pending approval?" the blond added, curious as to the young man's reaction.

"I understand that fully and it would just be like if i had never became a guard so that doesn't worry me sir, and as for her opinion of me, im not fully sure to be honest. I mean shes the one that told me i should contact you and gave me the idea of using the contact information to get ahold of you, but im not sure how she completely feels about the situation." He saw the frown and kept his own worry hidden, feeling he already said something wrong, really hoping this did not end in such a way he would need to leave Naboo. It was unlikely, but who knew?

So Felicity had left the matter up to him? Sneaky girl, trying to maintain her image whilst having others do the dirty work. Keter was proud of her, but he was still going to send this particular problem straight back to the sender. "Of course, can't have a bodyguard with a crush on his charge. I'll speak to my wife and see about you being immediately reassigned. It won't be a mark on your record," he explained, turning his back on the man as he pondered his next move. Glyph didn't seem like a bad sort, so no reason to ruin his life. Besides, such things happened. "You should have found out her feelings first. Otherwise this might all be for nothing. Have you considered that?" the blond asked over his shoulder before punching his palm.

"Right then. Since you're a stickler for tradition, I suppose it's only fair I do the same. Bring me the head of a Krayt Dragon and you got my permission."

He laughed for a few seconds, thinking that it was a joke before blinking. "Wait... you are joking right, you don't really want me to go track down and kill a Krayt Dragon..." He fumbled with his hands and shifted his weight, a bit worried he was serious and instantly continuing with his line of thought, responding to the part about her liking him. "... as for if she likes me, i think she does, she never outright told me but she didn't chide me or hit me when i told her... which was a nice change for once."

He stared levelly at the man until he stopped laughing. "I said, 'Bring me the head of a Krayt Dragon'. And I mean it," he stated, turning to face the younger man, arms folded across his chest. It was down to the kid to figure out the mountain of loopholes he had set up. If he took advantage of them, then he was crafty. If he went out and killed one, then he was valiant. Stupid, but valiant. "Hmmm, best make sure what she thinks of you before you risk life and limb for her. Also, I will arrange some paid leave for your task."

"So, still interested?"

[member="Glyph"]

He thought it over carefully before finally grinning, both at the simple chance to take out such a creature but also a stupid interest in what Felicity would say. "I accept, and am very much so interested, would i have to do this alone or could i hire someone to help me with the creature?" He grinned wider yet, the danger and excitement visually showed just how eager he was to take on such a thing, though there was a heavy worry in his mind at the very clear danger.

Ah, now he was getting it. Keter would have smiled but instead just looked at him. "All I said was 'Bring me the head of a Krayt Dragon'," he repeated, emphasizing the words. If the kid didn't get the clue after that...then Force help him. Besides, some time away from Felicity would give the man time to reflect on whether he truly cared for her, or was only interested due to being around her all the time. Distance was a good test of devotion. It had worked in his case after all.

"Be happy I'm a modernist and aren't insisting on ten labors before you could even speak to my daughter," the blond added, leaving it to Glyph to figure out whether he was joking this time or not.

"Shame, i heard Krayt Dragon taste good in a stew." He simply grinned and bowed, his hands turning and gripping at their opposite, not out of nervousness but anticipation and calculation as he began thinking out the best way to kill this thing. It would be an interesting time none the less and once he was dismissed he started speaking out loud to himself, doing calculations on what he would need to take down varying sizes of Krayt Dragon.

Felicity wasn't supposed to leave her room. That being said, it didn't mean that she didn't have ways to get information from outside her room.

"Miss Mason?"
Felicity sat up on her bed, putting down the book as a droid with shining silver plating entered.

"yes? Did he send the message? Did my father say if he was coming back?"

"Your father is home. They already spoke and-"

"Seriously!? I bet it was amazing! Did daddy yell at him? Was he very harsh? Tell me what he did to him!"

Felicity was more excited than she should have been. This was the first boy to ever ask her out. Owain didn't count because he never officially asked.

"Well... he told him to bring him the head of a Krayt dragon...."

Felicity stared at the droid in complete disbelief, then after a long pause, she laughed. She fell into fits of mad giggles, holding her stomach, rolling on the bed. The droid, puzzled by this odd behavior turned and left the blond to her laughter.

Always dramatic, her father.

"Just wait til I tell Owain about this. Krayt dragon! I bet he'll be so jealous."

She reached down under her bed where she hid her comm and went to send the message.

"Hey, Crow. Guess what my father just told my new boyfriend to do? He told him he had to kill a Krayt Dragon before he could date me! Isn't that crazy?"
