The Art of Forging

Jagen of Clan Wren sat in the field depot of the Dxun Mandalorian Outpost, in front of the blademaster lay a generous amount of refined beskar in a crate that had been received from Concordia, the moon of Manda'yaim or Mandalore. With a callused hand, he lifted a ingot and smelled it; it smelled fondly of home for him, of Concordia. A violent explosion of flames erupted upwards as the forge was started by him. He threw placed an ingot of beskar inside of the furnace and sat calmly waiting for it to become molten orange and bright.

After a while he grabbed the ingot out of the furnace with a pair of tongs and placed it on the anvil, he hammered it with a chisel until it finally bent in half. Jagen proceeded to hammer one half piece until it was over another, effectively folding the Mandalorian Iron onto itself before replacing it back into the furnace.

Once he had repeatedly folded some of the beskar ingots, he got to work before they cooled.

Taking a hammer he shaped each piece individually while the others waited in the furnace; what seemed like dozens of hammer strikes turned the brick-like ingot into a nearly flat plate of Mandalorian Iron and then put said plate back into the furnace again.

The process repeated multiple times, and when he was finished with the beskar he moved onto other metals such as durasteel, ciridium, and alum; turning the various ingots into plates so that he could continue with the forging.
