Work In Progress The Army of the Galactic Empire

GENERAL INFORMATION
Army Name: The Imperial Army
Classification: Combined Arms Ground Force
Affiliation: The Galactic Empire
ALL IMAGES CREDITED TO Pravus Cruento (AI generations through Chatgpt)

Description:
The Imperial Army is the primary ground-combat arm of the Empire, responsible for planetary conquest, occupation, and suppression. Unlike the Stormtrooper Corps, which emphasizes elite specialization, the Army represents the vast scale of Imperial warfare. Its grey-uniformed soldiers, armored walkers, tanks, and artillery form the backbone of surface campaigns, able to sustain long-term operations across countless worlds. Structured for mass deployment and planetary domination, the Army’s strength lies in overwhelming numbers, logistical endurance, and combined-arms coordination. Adapted to various locales, conditions and climates, the Infantry is deployed when diplomacy isn't enough to sway the hearts and minds of the populace.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
Headquarters:

  • Coruscant
  • Regional Sector Army Commands
Goals:
The Imperial Army exists to establish and hold Imperial rule across planetary surfaces. Its objectives include:

  • Launching planetary invasions and conquests.
  • Conducting counterinsurgency and suppression operations.
  • Garrisoning and occupying Imperial worlds.
  • Supporting governors, COMPNOR, and ISB in enforcing the New Order.
By integrating infantry, armor, artillery, and repulsorlift forces, the Army provides the Empire with unmatched staying power on the ground, complementing the precision of stormtroopers and the reach of the Navy.

Reputation:
While stormtroopers symbolize fear and elite shock assault, the Imperial Army represents inevitability. Once seen as ceremonial or second-rate in the waning Republic, under Palpatine’s New Order it has become a juggernaut of planetary dominance. Its immense scale, reinforced by walkers, tanks, and millions of troopers, ensures no world can long resist Imperial will. Though less glamorous than stormtroopers, the Army is respected for its relentless presence and feared for its unyielding ability to grind down resistance.

COMPOSITION INFORMATION
Army Size: Colossal

Composition:

Imperial Army units are organized in tiers that scale with the size of the campaign. Numbers vary depending on operational demands, but common estimates suggest:

  • Sector Army: Often between 700,000 and 1.2 million personnel, with armor and repulsorcraft counted in the tens of thousands.
  • Systems Army: Roughly 500,000 to 800,000 personnel, deployed across major theaters.
  • Army: Typically 150,000 to 250,000 personnel, including support arms.
  • Corps: Commonly 40,000 to 80,000 personnel, adaptable to planetary-level engagements.
  • Battlegroup: 10,000 to 20,000 baseline, scalable for larger invasions.
  • Regiments, Battalions, Companies, Platoons, Squads: Structured accordingly, from thousands down to squads of 8–12 troopers.

The Army is a combined-arms force, with integrated:

  • Line Infantry Troops
  • Assault & Heavy Weapons Companies
  • Armored Divisions (light/medium/heavy repulsor tanks)
  • Artillery & Walker Battalions (AT-ATs, AT-STs)
  • Recon & Scout Units
  • Engineer and Demolition Specialists
  • Air/Repulsorlift Cavalry and Support Wings
This organization allows the Army to function independently for prolonged planetary campaigns, coordinating seamlessly with Navy support and stormtrooper shock deployments.

MEMBERS

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Born from the remnant forces called to Solipsis after his reemergence, the Army of the Galactic Empire now boasts a healthy and robust membership, including conscripts and turn-coat forces from the Core Worlds. Once mocked as little more than garrisons, the Army grew into a vast machine of galactic conquest.

Where stormtroopers provide elite precision, the Army provides scale: the walkers that crushed resistance on countless worlds, the grey-clad troopers garrisoning cities, the tanks and artillery that enforce Imperial control. At countless engagements, the Army has shown its worth as the hammer of Imperial might.

Its doctrine emphasizes overwhelming numbers, logistical superiority, and combined-arms integration, ensuring that once deployed, Imperial control cannot be dislodged. While the Stormtrooper Corps embodies fear and loyalty, the Imperial Army embodies inevitability: a presence so vast and relentless that resistance is ground down under its treads and boots.

Hey there...It seems like there are quite a few things that have gone wonky in this submission, so I'll be returning it to Pre-Codex so you can work on it at your leisure. When the issues below are corrected, feel free to re-post it for review. If you have follow-up questions, you can DM or tag me.

1.) This is the template you should be using for an Army. You're missing sections of the template, such as "OOC Information" and some of the other fields. You may add as many fields as you require to fill out a submission; however, you cannot remove any. Simply mark it with "N/A" if it does not apply.

2.) All Affiliation fields must be linked to the faction, group submission, or character where applicable. Please link the Galactic Empire.

3.) Headquarters:
  • Regional Sector Army Commands
What is this? Where is this?

4,) Stormtroopers: These are affiliated with the Dark Empire, not the Galactic Empire, so you'll need to provide perms from the OP or remove the link.

5.) Army Composition: Colossal? This doesn't exist.
Choose from Small, Medium, Large, Huge.

6.) Army Composition: Your numbers are getting pretty wild - Tone them down. This is intended to provide a "snapshot" of what could be seen. Not hard troop numbers.
Composition: [ A sample of the units in this army. This is an example of what may be seen, not a hard troop number. Include in a list format the different types of units, with canon or codex links. Keep in mind the Unit Availability of Codex units when creating this list, as well as your Size rating above. If desired, list different configurations / versions / subdivisions of your army. ]
From General Submission Guidelines:
  • Use "hardline numbers" wisely or you will be required to remove them.
