WEAKNESSES
  • Distance; The Further Away from the Device a Target is, the Less Likely they’ll Suffer Grievous Injuries, Dismemberment, and/or Death.
  • Shielded Targets; Ray Shielding Absorbs/Blocks the Emitted Beams.
  • Marginal Duration; Ineffective over Long Durations without Replacement Power Cells and Tibanna Gas MicroCanisters.
  • Limited EMP/Ion Resistance; Device Proximity and Potency Dependant.
  • Radial Projection; Continuous Beams are Ineffective beyond 10 Metres.
  • Thrown Weapon; Distance depends upon the Lobbing Power of the User.
  • Anti-Repulsorlift Jammers; Disables the Bounce/Marginal Flight Capacity.
  • Repulsors; Requires a Gravity Field (Artificial or Natural) to Activate.
DESCRIPTION
Conceptually birthed by the various research and development departments within the enigmatic Trade Federation, the TF-01 Energy Grenade; Pulse Pattern was the newest piece of ordnance that was made available to the Galactic Market. While the origins were mysterious, it was said that one of the many teams within the Organization sought to condense blaster technology into a throwable format. With this throwable constituting Disruptor technology, which was an advanced form of the traditional blaster, it was believed that this Design Team was wholly successful in their insidious endeavour. Thus, the TF-01 Energy Grenade; Pulse Pattern was born and subsequently pushed into production in the hopes of reinvigorating the Galactic Arms Race.

What made this throwable piece of ordnance extremely lethal was the combination of disruptor technology and an integrated micro-repulsor. While the former was more deadly in terms of raw stopping power, the latter merely enhanced the grenade’s power by delivering it to another elevation, provided there was a gravity field present. These MicroRepulsors would permit the TF-01 Energy Grenade; Pulse Pattern to utilize the entirety of its potential, as the lethality wouldn’t be halved should the device come into contact with the surface. But, the only limitation to their potential that didn’t involve external counters, was the operational ceiling - as there was a preset selector that determined how high the grenade “bounced” after it impacted a surface.

To capitalize on the Lethality of their new device, there was a variable selection of potential that began with the baseline selection of the emitters projecting their deadly beams outwards in a randomized fashion. This variant selection would prove to be a boon for the onboard power cells as it was, effectively, a power-saving mode; which in turn would benefit the longevity of the weapon. With that being said, only a measure of time would be added onto the device’s duration in comparison to its other mode - which would simply emit a continuous stream of beams from the device until the power cells ran dry.

Thus, with the TF-01 Energy Grenade; Pulse Pattern in hand - tight-knit corridors or in urban environments would become a nightmare to any that stand in opposition to its wielder.
