SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Can replicate pixelate camouflage using ambient environmental hues
  • Takes roughly ten minutes for camouflage to set, but once set requires no electric charge
  • Hybrid design brings down cost, though limits camouflage to preset patterns
STRENGTHS
  • (+) Hybridized Technology: TacFlec combines the technology of chromomites and electro-chemical paint to create an affordable and mass-produced camouflage technology that can be applied to a wide range range of textiles and materials either as a painted coating or as a penetrating dye.
WEAKNESSES
  • (-) Preset Patterns: unlike true smart camouflage like adaptive scout armor, which shifts its patterns with its environment, TacFlec is preset to pixelated camouflage. While these patterns have withstood the rigors of history and are reliable, they're still a downgrade over dedicated adaptive camo.

DESCRIPTION
The Tetron TacFlec Camouflage Coating is a type of electro-chemically adaptive dye, capable of changing its colors precisely to the ambient environment. A hybridized technology of chromomites and electro-chemical paint, TacFlec is much cheaper than most adaptive dyes at the expense of being locked into preset pixelate patterns. When exposed to a consistent micro-electric charge for a minimum of ten minutes, the molecular structure of the photo-reactive material destabilizes and synchronizes to its ambient environment; when the electric charge is removed, the molecular structure stabilizes, and the color changes "set" into place, requiring no further charge to hold them in place.

The benefits of TacFlec are in its mass application; TacFlec can be applied as a painted coating to hard surfaces, or as a dye that textiles can be submerged in. Further, while TacFlec cannot shift its patterns actively and is locked into pixelate camouflage patterns, its color palette is accurate and true to life; instead of mass producing different camouflage textiles for soldiers, soldiers simply adjust their camouflage colors on the battlefield.
