Lyzia Hudna
"Strong Mother"

Space Sector D-8 in the Unknown Region
Planet: Solovarna
This was the first time anything like this had been recorded in the Soltaran history. Messages had been sent out to all of the Colonial Leaders immediately after it had been confirmed by the scientists in the deep space monitoring outpost in the arctic base of Caldrium. The head scientists did not want to send any word until it was a %100 proof positive reading. The fact he send the messages to the command base in Indagora obviously proved his case. Even as the messages were sent he had to keep looking back at the large monitor to confirm it for himself: the satellites had discovered something out in space. The first sign of life outside of their planet.
Colony of Straxda
“I still think you should reconsider, ma’am.” The Colonial Leader’s advisor said as they sat in her office.
The advisor was a weak looking Soltaran man, often the leader herself saying how he was lucky he could lift a sword without his whole arm falling off. While he sat in one of the three chairs set in front of a large desk where the leader would usually sit, she was standing at the window overlooking her entire colony. Looking down she could see the hustle and bustle of cars either hovering through the air ways of driving lower to the ground.
Her office was oval shaped and spacious, with a number of pieces of artwork on the walls. Three were of different landscapes, a waterfall, a desert with a storm approaching and a large grassy field on the outskirts of a dense looking jungle. The only other painting was that of a Soltaran woman and labeled “Frega Killnia. Out first leader”. Aside from that there were busts of other Soltaran leaders, male and female, on pedestals. And finally on her desk, amid the books and documents and other things you’d expect to see on a leader’s desk was her large curved sword.
Finally answering her advisor Lyzia said “For the last time, Gurno, I am not interested in marriage at the time. I have more important matters to worry about.”
“But some of your supports are beginning to question why you, at your age and in your position, aren’t mated with someone.” He explained. “You’ll need their continuing word to keep you from being impeached.”
“No. My still keeping this colony from tearing itself apart is what will.” She retorted, finally turning away from the window.
As she sat down in her chair Gurno said “You’re a strong warrior, madam Leader. You could fight for a mate if you wanted to.”
“I’ll leave the head-butting over someone I think handsome or pretty to you males.” She said with a coy smirk. He tried to say more before she held her hand up to quite him and say “Right now the only thing I care about is keeping my people safe and making sure they know that as well. When I am sure things are more clam, maybe then, and ONLY then, will I consider taking a mate.”
Just then the door knocked and, after Lyzia let them enter, one of the defense agents came in and explained she had been summoned to Indagora for an important matter.
As Lyzia instantly got up and walked out of the room, her agent explaining the details as she went for her transport, Gurno groaned and said “If that’s the case she’ll never be married.”
Indagora. Eight hours later
All of the Colonial Leaders, Twenty in total, had finally arrived at the United Colonies Building to discuss the matter of the great discovery. All were assembled in the grand hall where all sat in a large rounded room at a round table with the symbol of Solovarna itself in the middle. Present were a number of armed guards keeping an eye on both the inside and outside of the meeting hall.
For the last hour they’d been waiting while discussing what to do now or what they should do next. They were just waiting for the arrival of the head scientist himself to deliver the information. All the while Lyzia was either giving her own theories that it could either be a mistake or just something out in space they’d hadn’t found until now. Most others agreed whatever it was they knew it could be dangerous.
Once the scientist arrived he began explaining that they had first received off transmissions from one of their satellites. The language was unknown and, given where it was coming from, it was clearly something outside of their solar system. After that they tried decoding it, only for the source of the signal to move closer to Solovarna.
“And now we have an actual image of what it is.” He finished before pulling it up on a large monitor that came down from the ceiling of the room.
When they saw the picture they could tell it was something large traveling past the second planet away from their own, meaning it was closer than they’d believed and traveling fast. They all began to note and debate how something could travel so fast when their own technology wasn’t as advanced. The more hostile of the leaders began to worry more about the intent of these visitors while others tried to calm them by saying it may be visitors with peaceful intentions.
"And this may be the only one we known of so far. For all we known there are more out there and we;ve yet to establsh connections with them." he added amonst the rest of thier theories.
“How much time before they reach our planet?” Lyzia asked, she gripping her family sword underneath the table.
“Giving these estimations, Madame leader….” The scientist began “…..five hours.”
