Teshma Vokur "Friend or Foe?"

Space Sector D-8 in the Unknown Region
Planet: Solovarna

This was the first time anything like this had been recorded in the Soltaran history. Messages had been sent out to all of the Colonial Leaders immediately after it had been confirmed by the scientists in the deep space monitoring outpost in the arctic base of Caldrium. The head scientists did not want to send any word until it was a %100 proof positive reading. The fact he send the messages to the command base in Indagora obviously proved his case. Even as the messages were sent he had to keep looking back at the large monitor to confirm it for himself: the satellites had discovered something out in space. The first sign of life outside of their planet.

Colony of Straxda

“I still think you should reconsider, ma’am.” The Colonial Leader’s advisor said as they sat in her office.

The advisor was a weak looking Soltaran man, often the leader herself saying how he was lucky he could lift a sword without his whole arm falling off. While he sat in one of the three chairs set in front of a large desk where the leader would usually sit, she was standing at the window overlooking her entire colony. Looking down she could see the hustle and bustle of cars either hovering through the air ways of driving lower to the ground.

Her office was oval shaped and spacious, with a number of pieces of artwork on the walls. Three were of different landscapes, a waterfall, a desert with a storm approaching and a large grassy field on the outskirts of a dense looking jungle. The only other painting was that of a Soltaran woman and labeled “Frega Killnia. Out first leader”. Aside from that there were busts of other Soltaran leaders, male and female, on pedestals. And finally on her desk, amid the books and documents and other things you’d expect to see on a leader’s desk was her large curved sword.

Finally answering her advisor Lyzia said “For the last time, Gurno, I am not interested in marriage at the time. I have more important matters to worry about.”

“But some of your supports are beginning to question why you, at your age and in your position, aren’t mated with someone.” He explained. “You’ll need their continuing word to keep you from being impeached.”

“No. My still keeping this colony from tearing itself apart is what will.” She retorted, finally turning away from the window.

As she sat down in her chair Gurno said “You’re a strong warrior, madam Leader. You could fight for a mate if you wanted to.”

“I’ll leave the head-butting over someone I think handsome or pretty to you males.” She said with a coy smirk. He tried to say more before she held her hand up to quite him and say “Right now the only thing I care about is keeping my people safe and making sure they know that as well. When I am sure things are more clam, maybe then, and ONLY then, will I consider taking a mate.”

Just then the door knocked and, after Lyzia let them enter, one of the defense agents came in and explained she had been summoned to Indagora for an important matter.

As Lyzia instantly got up and walked out of the room, her agent explaining the details as she went for her transport, Gurno groaned and said “If that’s the case she’ll never be married.”

Indagora. Eight hours later

All of the Colonial Leaders, Twenty in total, had finally arrived at the United Colonies Building to discuss the matter of the great discovery. All were assembled in the grand hall where all sat in a large rounded room at a round table with the symbol of Solovarna itself in the middle. Present were a number of armed guards keeping an eye on both the inside and outside of the meeting hall.

For the last hour they’d been waiting while discussing what to do now or what they should do next. They were just waiting for the arrival of the head scientist himself to deliver the information. All the while Lyzia was either giving her own theories that it could either be a mistake or just something out in space they’d hadn’t found until now. Most others agreed whatever it was they knew it could be dangerous.

Once the scientist arrived he began explaining that they had first received off transmissions from one of their satellites. The language was unknown and, given where it was coming from, it was clearly something outside of their solar system. After that they tried decoding it, only for the source of the signal to move closer to Solovarna.

“And now we have an actual image of what it is.” He finished before pulling it up on a large monitor that came down from the ceiling of the room.

When they saw the picture they could tell it was something large traveling past the second planet away from their own, meaning it was closer than they’d believed and traveling fast. They all began to note and debate how something could travel so fast when their own technology wasn’t as advanced. The more hostile of the leaders began to worry more about the intent of these visitors while others tried to calm them by saying it may be visitors with peaceful intentions.

"And this may be the only one we known of so far. For all we known there are more out there and we;ve yet to establsh connections with them." he added amonst the rest of thier theories.

“How much time before they reach our planet?” Lyzia asked, she gripping her family sword underneath the table.

“Giving these estimations, Madame leader….” The scientist began “…..five hours.”

Aboard the Young in Spirit
"Are you insane?"
Ask Second-the-Command, shuffling and huffing around Captain Sammo.

There was a very peculiar scene unfolding aboard the adventuring Frigate. Captain Sammo was grinning, blindfolded as he was punching random buttons and tiles on the navigation computer, Second-in-Command running around him trying to minimize the damage and keep them from crashing into a moon.
"I'm telling you, Second, I know this ship well enough that I can fly her with a blindfold over my eyes!"
Sammo grinned, his plot was to see just how much he can piss Second off with his antics.
"You will doom us all, please watch where you are flying, you will bring us too close to a sun's gravitational pull."
Sammo scoffed, punching in some more buttons
"Oh stop, like we ever had one of those terrible adventures like that."
Second shook his fists slightly
"This is a frigate, not a toy meant for your amusement."
The B1 droid protested
"Oh, shush, I am the Captain after all."
Sammo tried to quiet his droid aide down.

"I have had enough of this."
Second took a step back before running up and slamming into Sammo with his tiny metal shoulder, managing to push the man aside as he punched in coordinates and brought the ship to a stop.
Sammo grinned as he took off his blindfold
"Second! You just rammed your own Captain, perhaps we should give you a memory wipe before you'll get too independent?"
Second only watched the consoles, containing the situation
"At least I will not recall all the horrors you have done to this ship."
He said passively.

Sammo was about to retort with a smirk when he saw the planet ahead of them, it was Solovarna.
"Second, what is that planet?"
The droid checked the consoles at Captain's query.
"Unknown, it is uncharted."
The droid paused, if he could give out a sight he would
"Shall I prepare the shu-"
"Prepare the shuttles!"
Sammo interrupted him with a cheer
"And hail the planet if you could, let's see if they can pick up on our signals, time to establish first contact, hopefully!"
Sammo smirked, exiting the bridge to put on his survival suit.

@[member="stardust"] @[member="Cab Khan "]@[member="Sigurd Loke"] @[member="Serock Hoath"] @[member="Declan Starr"] @[member="Krest"]
Soon enough, throughout the ship came out an announcement from Second
"To all crew and passengers, on our exploration route we have came upon another uncharted planet. Captain has ordered to prepare the shuttles, we will be leaving on an exploratory investigation and possible establishment of first contact with any natives. The shuttles will be leaving in two hours."
His voice echoed through the ship.

And as for the natives, soon enough their satellites would hopefully pick up following communicate soon enough, spoken in Galactic Basic, which they most likely did not understand,
"Uncharted Planet, this is adventuring civilian frigate the Young in Spirit, we will be sending an unarmed shuttle for communication in couple of hours, we come in peace."
The message would then loop in major Galactic languages, including Bocce and Mandalorian among some lesser known languages like Dosh or Shyriiwook

Krest blinks. An uncharted planet? And they're sending us planetside?

The Zabrak shakes his head slowly. Going on the ground on an uncharted planet can be a terrible idea, but it was one he was willing to go along with at least. Perhaps a challenge will arise on its surface. He pulls his helm on, moving to the shuttles. Today was going to be an interesting day indeed.

The message was sent through all broadcasting channels. Nealry all of the Colonies on Solovarna were able to hear it, every last man woman and child, average and Elite alike. Everyone now knew that there was something coming to their planet, only they weren't sure what to think of it.

"Where are they landing?" one of the Leaders asked.

"Our satleites have picked up the image of something smaller approaching." the scientist said. "Perhaps it's some type of exploration ship or even and advanced war ship of some kind Who knows? But it seems as though they'll be landing about 100 miles outside this very city.

"Then we need to send someone to make contact immedialty." the leader realized. "Establish contact and try to see what they want and who they are."

"Who?" another leader asked. "One of us? If that's the case then it'll need to be someone who can represent not just one colony but all of Solovarna!"

A small debate erupted from this, many of the leaders either pointing fingers at who they thought was best for the job while others either denied they were good enough or thought they were better than the other. While they prattled on Lyzia was looking at the images of the apporhcing vessel and, tried of all the talking, finally got up and began to walk out.

"Leader Lyzia, where are you going?" one leader asked, the rest looking.

"To do what you all fail to agree on." she stated. "I'm going to speak to these visators." Turning to one gaurd she said "I'll need an escort. As small force wil do and be sure to bring at least three Elite warriors in case."

As the gaurd ran off another leader said "Lyzia, you cannot put yourself in charge like this!"

"As opposed to waiting around until all of you agree on something? By that point these aliens will have landed and possibly colonized before we could even agree to say yes." She turned away and said "If I return then the mission was a success and they come in peace. If not.....then prepare all our forces for war."

With that she left the room, all the leaders silent at her sudden charge she took.

Within the hour the escort arrived in the apparent landing spot of where the ship would be. All soldiers and warriors were baorded on large hovering transports and other ships of the like and were armed with different types of weapons from laser rifles, gernades to some even carrying swords. The larger Elite warrior Soltarans lumbered out amongst the average ones and stood tall amid the large party assembled. Finally Lyzia stepped out and walked in the front of the group. All were looking up and had weapons at the ready for whatever would come. When the ship was in sight Lyzia signaled for her men to be ready. She would be the one to make first cntact with them, be it peaceful or hostile, and any who did otherwise would answer to her.

"Alright, everyone ready?"
Sammo smiled to his crewman and passengers who decided to join him on the expedition, Krest and Stardust among them.
He carried a crate of bacta capsules aboard the shuttle, a gift to the natives if they didn't started to shoot at them upon sight. If that would be the case he really hoped the shuttle's strong shields and armor would hold for them long enough to get away!
"Remember, if you are bringing any weapons aboard, keep them inside the shuttle unless the natives will attack us upon the sight. I will exit the shuttle first, you can come out with me to meet their representatives once I'll give an all-clear signal. We come there as explorers and travelers, not conquerors."
He explained, making the conditions of the meeting clear to the adventurers who would come with him. After all, they didn't knew what kind of people the natives were, it was a really delicate situation that could potentially turn hostile very quickly.
"And remember your survival suits in case the atmosphere is toxic!"
He called out in last reminder as the doors of the shuttle closed, it's engines powering up and landing gear collapsing inside as the pilot slowly guided the shuttle out of the hangars and into the cold void of space, en route towards the uncharted planet.

"Sir, we will be planetside in only few minutes, landing about 160 kilometers outside of one of their largest cities."
Pilot called back to Sammo who nodded back to him and looked to his crew, putting on the spacious round helmet of his survival suit.
"Alright, guys, let's put on our broadest smiles and hope they are not bloodthirsty murderers!"
He quipped in rather poor display of his humor.

@[member="Lyzia Hudna"]
Finally,
The shuttle would touch down with a slight clank in front of the Solovarna's welcoming committee. Aboard the shuttle, Sammo would stand up, nodding to other adventurers aboard
"Wish me luck."
He muttered to them as he walked out of the shuttle's door and down its extended ramp slowly. Stardust and Krest would be able to see the large group of Soltarian warriors and machines gathered to meet the Spirit's shuttle.
Already tall Captain would appear even taller in the large survival suit, especially in the spacious helmet. He came out with both of his hands raised in the air and palms open, bent at a ninety-degree angles at his elbows, a sign he came out unarmed.
The Captain would speak out in Bocce first, since it was a language that encompassed many parts of other alien languages, it was more likely that the natives would understand it better than common
[Bocce] "Greetings, I am called Captain Sammo Hache-Khe of Rae, I am a wanderer who sailed among the stars with my crew to this planet. I come in peace."
He said with the cliche but true line. As his HUD beeped, confirming that the gasses in planet's atmosphere were safe to breath in, he would slowly reach to his helmet, slightly turning it, it hissed with the air being released from the inside, and he would take it off, showing his aging human face, stern but friendly, with his brown hair slightly greying.
He repeated to them, this time in common.
"Greetings, I am called Captain Sammo Hache-Khe of Rae, I am a wanderer who sailed among the stars with my crew to this planet. I come in peace."

Krest held his saber hilt in his hand. He wasn't to keen on the idea of leaving the hilt on this shuttle, so he simply didn't. He attached it to his hip and crossed his arms, patiently waiting for the all-clear sign, or blaster fire. He taps the side of his helm just to tap it. "So.. How long do you think we're gonna have to wait?" He talks to no one specifically, just talking to talk.

Finally Lyzia would be the first to meet visitors from some other world, possibly some other galaxy. The one that steped foward had his hands rasied and seemed unarmed, at least no weapons Lyzia could see. He spoke in some odd language she didn't understand only for him to them remove his helmet and reveal his true face. It was clear he was wearing a protective suit much like they would. At least that was one thing they had in common. Lyzia looked between the man and his companions, seeing they obivously were not all the same species. More than just one alien race out there? Lyzia couldn't barely belive it. Still there was the matter of establushing contact with these creatures. In one hand she held her sword and in the other she held out.

In her Soltaran language she asked "Teshma..." indicating her open hand "...vokur?" she then indicated the sword.

Sammo would hold out his open hand slightly, his other holding his helmet
"Teshma."
He repeated, putting it on his chest then, motioning to himself, patting his chest plate slightly
"Sammo."
He repeated his name as he looked over Lyzia and other natives gathered, taking a glance to her sword.

It wasn't going terribly so far, although he still wasn't sure whether it was safe or not.
He slightly glanced back to his shuttle, speaking up loud enough so that Krest and Stardust could hear him among others.
"Guys, you can start walking out, but slowly, and you can remove your helmets, the air is safe to breath."

Krest rolls his shoulders then, glancing over to @[member="stardust"].

"They seem friendly enough." The Zabrak watches the exchange, but then focuses more on the race as a hole. A reptilian. Though when she held up her sword he moved his palm to the hilt of his own blade. Just a reflex, not an attack. But he figured out the meaning fairly quick. The Templar stepped up beside @Sammo Hache-Khe of Rae, shaking his head. "I think she's asking for peace or war, not our names." He nods to @Lyzia Hudna, removing his helm. Six horns spread as a ring around his head, and his face was shadowed with black tattoos along his deep red skin. He motions to himself similar to Sammo. "Krest."

Hearing "Teshma" from the one Lyzia perked up with a small smile. That did in fact mean friend. Then the alien indicated himself as Sammo, either that or the word meant something in his language. But then the other approched and revealed his face, Lyzia looking surprised at his features. When he indicated Krest she assumed that was in the same language as Sammo, since they seemed to be speaking the same at least. She titled her head a bit, seeing it odd that two different species spoke the same language. But hearing teshma still gave hope.

She nodded and said "Tsehma." before looking back to her men and rasing her hand. "Teshma! Teshma!"

The soldiers dropped thier weapons to thier sides before walking over towards the group. All had been wearing face-masks at the time but finally took them off to reveal thier faces. All began exmaining the three aliens as Lyzia still spoke with the apparent leader.

"Lyzia." she introduced herself.

Sammo smiled to them as they lowered their guns and began to walk closer, taking off their masks, he glanced to Krest as he joined by them.
"I believe I already told them we come in peace, 'teshma' is their word for peace I believe."
The aging captain grinned to Lyzia when she introduced herself
"Lyzia."
He repeated her name, giving her a slight bow

He would look to Krest then
"Entertain them for a second, will you? You're the first Zabrak they ever seen, they might want to touch your horns, just saying."
He grinned to Krest and Stardust who just came out, before he looked to Lyzia, motioning for her to wait for a second as he strut back to the shuttle
He smiled to her as he grabbed one of the bags in the shuttle prepared and a crate of bacta capsules.
He would set it down on the ground just before the shuttle, not to close to the natives in case they might think it's some sort of a trick, he would look up to Lyzia, patting the crate.
"Bacta."
He named it before glancing to Krest
"Krest, you have a knife I can use real quick? If you do be careful with taking it out, don't do it too quick."

Krest blinks for a moment, then looks to the natives. He holds up his hands for a moment, offering a smile. "I've no idea how to entertai- Oh. I have an idea." He reaches behind him, pulling up a datapad. He holds it in his hand for a moment, then lifts it into the air. But his hand stays behind. With a simple amount of force control he sends the datapad floating in between him and @Lyzia Hudna. He hoped that perhaps these natives had a force user of some kind. Then he may be able to communicate better.

"I don't have a knife, no. All of my blades are sabers." He makes a motion to the hilt on his hip. "If that'll help, let me know."

"Eh, too showy, let's wait a bit before we'll show them a lightsaber."
He answered back quickly to Krest, fidgeting with the crate of bacta capsules to take one of them out
"Stardust,"
He would call her name, turning to her,
"Can you pass me your sword?"

With the others coming closer to look there were moments were some communication was established better than others. A few of the Soltarans came towards @[member="Krest"] and indeed began poking at his horns and exmaining his face. One Elite watched Somma walk away before he came back with the crate. It stood next to Lyzia and they both heard him say "Bacta".

"Bac-ta?" she repated, not knowing what it meant or was. The Elite gave the same confused look.

The other two Elites walked towards @[member="stardust"] and began exmaining her. This mainly involved sniffing her or opening there mouths so they could smell her with the sensors in their tounges. They even used thier large fingers to touch parts of her to try and see if she was solid or not. They were, after all, the slower thinkers of the race. But when Krest made the holopad float they all stopped and looked, even Lyzia who held her hand on her blade for a moment. They were not used to see something like this, mainly because "the force" had never been discovered in their people. Lyzia used her hand and tried to see if a wire was attached but found none. She and the others began muttering among themselves as they still watched with shock and awe.

"Thanks."
He said with a brief smile to Stardust as he looked at Lyzia and others' reaction to Krest's telekinesis.
"I don't think they ever discovered use of the Force, don't show off too much."
He commented to Krest with a slight worry, after all, the Galaxy was filled with Force User, they were basis of many armies, center points of many wars. If the natives were shocked by Telekinesis how would they act when they saw Force Lightning being conjured.
"Hrm."
Sammo thought about it briefly before he waved Lyzia closer, taking off one of his suit's gloves.
"Lyzia, bacta!"
He called to her, trying to get her attention away from the Force trick.
Once she was looking to him he would take the knife and run the blade across his hand, making a small cut but big enough to be visible. He would leave the knife in the soil next to the crate as he would break the waxy capsule of bacta he held and smear the blueish substance on the cut. He would show Lyzia his palm as she could see the cut close up quickly, still leaving a scab, but the process was visibly accelerated by the substance.
Sammo would stand up, putting his glove back on
"Bacta."
He said once more, motioning between Lyzia and the crate of substance, trying to gesture he was giving them the healing remedies as a gift.

Lyzia saw Sammo wave her over so, glancing back to her people who still looked at @[member="Krest"] and his abilites, came to him. For a moment she was confused why he cut himself before he showed the uses of "Bacta". She titled her head before seeing it was obviosuly some sort of healing gell.

"Bacta." she nodded.

Thinking of what to show him, something he may or may not have found on his world or any other worlds out in the galaxy, Lyzia called over one of the elites. She made him hold out his arm before she banged on it, indicating the kind of steel it was. She even used one of the laser weapons and fired on his chest, showing there was barley a mark left on the armor.

"Telamanium." she stated, indcating the metal.
