Terrors of Tatooine: Between Sand and Sky

"If you're lying, I'll cut off another finger. Got sheb?
Verz walked into his ship's hold and looked around. Sure enough, he found the flask amid the crates of ammo and weapon racks in the hold.

The silver flask was cool to the touch despite the desert heat. It was sealed with the mark of the Hutt Cartel, the sigil would play a short holographic message when the face of the grinning Hutt was touched.

A hologram appears of a head of a smiling Hutt appears who greets you in Basic. "Thank you for your purchase of Tirginni Cologne. One of the finest scents in the galaxy. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat to avoid voiding your warranty. We look forward to your next purchase."

Tirginni Cologne is a very rare and valuable scent for those aliens with the capability to perceive it. It was said to be extremely pleasant, and intoxicating in large doses. Unfortunately Verz lacked the olfactory senses to appreciate it though. Still the container held about 20 milliliters of cologne, easily worth 15,000 credits on a Core World to the right buyer.

"Hey hey. Don't hurt the messenger. All I know is you got the package that the boss wants. If you let us get it in the first place we wouldn't be out here in the middle of this freaking desert would we?"

The droid sends a warning lifeforms are closing in fast.

"Are you kidding me? After all the expense you put him through, he most likely would skin you and use your hide as rug. Even if you do get offworld, he is likely to put a bounty on your head."

An inhuman cry carries across the sand dunes, sounding like a cross between the bantha in heat and the moan of an animal in pain. The jawas scatter and rush back to the safety of their sandcrawler, as dozens of brown clad raiders cross the ridge, waving spearlike devices and firing rifles at the general direction. Sand people. As if the situation wasn't bad enough. Prepare to defend yourself.

(There are fifteen possible targets, designated A to O. Verz can target up to 4, R3 can target up to 3. Remember your ship is a sitting duck on the sands during this time.)

Verz raced down the ramp and began firing with his Eweb at the sandraiders. Half of them were attacking the Mandalorian and other half had targeted the easier prey, the Jawa Sandcrawler, as the Jawas on the sand began fleeing in all directions away from the screaming raiders.

Screaming at the top of their lungs they raced across the dune sands, truly a blood curling sight. Keeping his cool, Verz took out the first four racing at him as they closed the distance, while R3 was able to hit another with its wild shooting.

The three that reached the ramp attacked him with ferocity, stabbing at him with their sharp spear like weapons and point blank rifle shots. Fortunately, the mandalorian iron deflected most of the damage, but he was seriously cut in the left arm and he was forced to use his eweb as a melee weapon to keep their spears at bay.

(Next round - Three enemies are close range)

He used the E-Web as a blunt weapon and tried knocking them away, planning to get out his knife and Shatter gun. He hit them and blocked so quickly, his mind wandered for a moment and wondered if that is what Jedi feel like when they fight.

Flipping over his rifle, he used the blunt stock as a makeshift club, swinging and connecting the side of the head of the raider, sending him spinning off the ramp to lie unconscious on the sand. However that cost Verz, as the one with the rifle blasted him at close range. He could feel the metal bits that got through his armor cut into his flesh. If he wasn't wearing Mandalorian Iron, he would probably have been sawn in half.

The shooter was frantically trying to reload his weapon, while the other stabbed him in the thigh. Again it was only the thickness of the armor which made the rather fatal wound into a grazing scratch.

(You can either use the rifle again as a club or drop it to draw your knife and shatter gun. If you do the latter, they get a free attack on you.)

The rifle fell to the deck, as Verz reached for his knife and pistol, as the raider with the spear thrust forward, drawing more blood with a meaty stab to the gap in his shoulder plates. Meanwhile the one with the rifle had finished reloading and was taking aim once more.
