Tenacity For Taanab pt.2 (Mig Gred)

Starship Senior Officers
Orbit of Taanab.

The Force would see Veiere Arenais called back once more to Taanab, a third visit very much akin to his last. Today, his responsibility and duty to the Order of the Silver Jedi would see him meeting with a known associate of the United Clans of Mandalore, [member="Mig Gred"]. Personal experience with the man he was scheduled to meet with, was minor from what he could recall of any past interactions. The Jedi Master had guessed at a possible association with his wife, [member="Kay Arenais"], though could not confirm any such thing and thus was left to presume as much. With the lack of any real personal experience behind them, this would be another meeting of business just as his introduction to [member="Taozi Fuyuan"] had been.

"Captain, We've got a vessel incoming" Jacinder (Jae) Rorik declared from the navigation's workstation.

"Confirmed. Raising Shields" William Pearson's voice sounded from behind the Captain's station.

"Stand down, we're here on for a diplomatic objective" Veiere cut in, raising a hand and immediately being met with obedience whilst the Jedi Master looked to his personal terminal. The feed from the communications station being relayed to his console screen. Tapping the surface of the terminal several times, Veiere opened up communications to the unidentified vessel, presuming it to be the expected Mandalorian party.

"Unidentified Vessel, this is Veiere Arenais of the Order of the Silver Jedi, Captain of the H.A Judiciary" he paused a moment to allow the introduction to sink in before continuing to relay his instructions; "Under the authority of the Silver Assembly, I strongly suggest you transmit your identification codes and state your reason for crossing into our border".

Looking back to Pearson, Veiere muted the transmission before reminding his security officer not to show any signs of hostility. "Keep the shields down, Pearson. Weapon systems on stand-by. We don't want to spook our new visitors before we know what they're here for".

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
Mig sat in the cockpit of the Basilisk, returning to Taanab once more. He sighed slightly. Too much had happened on this world, and his clan was still there, healing and preparing for the future. Today he wasn't here for that though. No. The Gred Alor was here to discuss a deal. Whatever qualms he had with the Jedi, and however redundant this may seem given the Tal Stronghold, if you could truly call it a stronghold, was neutral territory, all the Mandalorian wanted to do was help his clan, and Taanab. Some wished to stay, and Mig wanted to be sure there would be no issues with a second clan, one that by this point he figured would be known as warriors, having a presences on the humanitarian world. At least the Jedi he was about to talk to was [member="Veiere Arenais"] . He was was Kay's husband, so maybe he'd be a bit more open.

He then eyed R10. "How much longer till we...." And then a warning came over, and the Mando'ad'jetii glared at the astromech. "You forgot to turn the transponder on when we hit Jetii space!?" Mig shook his head as the droid reactivated the system, and Mig quickly went to the comms.

"Veiere Arenais, this is Mig Gred. Sorry about this. R10 forgot to reactivate the transponder once we hit Silver space. Trying to keep Sith from being able to follow us." It wasn't long after this that the MC-18 appeared from hyperspace. Mig looked out to see some Gred vessels still finalizing repairs. Hopefully they'd be ready soon. Once given permission to the land, the freighter would follow the path that need to be followed, and would set down within the cruiser's hanger bay.

"Veiere Arenais, this is Mig Gred. Sorry about this.
R10 forgot to reactivate the transponder once we hit Silver space.
Trying to keep Sith from being able to follow us".
Several of the Officers aboard the bridge turned to glance back towards the communications terminal, then to the Captain, at the mention of the Sith tracking [member="Mig Gred"]'s crew and vessel. Lifting a hand to his peers, Veiere silently gestured for them to keep their minds on the moment, a dismissive wave while not disturbing the immediate communications transmission between the two Starships. "Understood, Captain Gred" Veiere answered their Mandalorian visitor by title he had assumed was the man's by station of his vessel; "Welcome to Silver Space. I have a conference room ready for your arrival aboard the Judiciary, if you'd be willing" Veiere explained gently, knowing that perhaps the notion of being aboard a Silver Jedi Starship might not be so comforting to one whom had previously been associated with the United Clans of Mandalore, and perhaps still very likely could remain to consider himself one of them.

Silencing his end of the transmission so that he could speak privately to his crew, Veiere turned back to Jacinder Rorik "Eyes open, Lieutenant. If anything enters this sector, I want to hear about it" Veiere cautioned the communications officer, she of whom would extend their sensors to maximum distance in the case that they might be to receive any company from the Sith that were supposedly pursuing their guests. "Commander Ansion, the Bridge is yours..." Veiere rose to his feet, stepping away from the command console and turning to look to Vikras with a confident nod.

"Have an Officer escort our Guests to the Conference room. No need for military procedure, I'm not expecting trouble today" Veiere advised. Mig and whomever he chose to bring with him, didn't need a squadron of Rangers to remind them that they would be walking aboard a Silver Jedi vessel, and for the sake of negotiations and a potential friendship, it was important that Veiere ensure their comfort for as long as this delegation would last.

Mig nodded at the message that came through, giving R10 a slight hit on the head dome. R10 not turning on the transponder didn't help things, but the way he answered it probably didn't help either. He felt like he had to be more careful though. With his Riduur being a former Sith slave.... He wouldn't let his Aliit suffer because he wasn't careful enough. "Will do, Arenius. I'll be honest, a conference room sounds better then any room in here. Be aboard soon."

After the ship landed, Mig walked over to the V-1 droid that was waiting by the ram, and turned back as he walked out. "R10, O7! You two don't argue the entire time I'm gone!" He then walked out, followed by the droid, and approached the officer, removing his helmet as he did. The Alor then extended his hand, trying to determine what the man's rank was.

"Su cuy'gar. Must say this is quite an impressive ship."

[member="Veiere Arenais"]

"Indeed it is; Welcome to the Judiciary, Sir"
The Officer awaiting [member="Mig Gred"] was nothing if not formal, offering a thin smile out of good manner before gesturing for the Mandalorian to walk alongside him as the man would lead the way towards the Conference room some few levels higher from the primary Hangar. Veiere had gone out of his way to ensure that Mig didn't feel like a prisoner of war, or even remotely associated with the organizations past history en-route to the meeting. No doubt these things would arise in conversation, but it ought to be in private and in confidence between Mig and the Jedi Master himself; Not with others present whom had no business dealing with such sensitive topics. It wouldn't take the pair of them long to reach the designated conference room, the walls all transparisteel and visible to those whom might pass by, yet also completely sound proof and thus in it's own way, private.

"Thank you, Leiutenant. That will be all" Veiere gave a nod to the officer, signalling for the man's dismissal before bowing his head in greeting and acknowledgement to the Guest, Mig Gred, himself. "Please, come on in and take a seat" Veiere smiled lightly before extending a hand to the panel at the table, the entrance sliding closed behind the Mandalorian so that they could talk in confidence; "Just to be clear, this meeting isn't being recorded, nor will anyone beyond this room hear the things that we're to discuss. I've ensured that the ship will be fine without me, so there's plenty of time..." He explained for Mig's awareness.

"Tension's between our people have been at an all time high lately, but I was hoping that I might be able to express to you, the want for this meeting to be completely civil and unbiased. Despite the United Clan's views of the Jedi, our aim is to work for the greater good and conflict is not what we seek" He spoke, trying to establish a good founding basis for their meeting in order to coerce a better direction for their time, than previous Silver Jedi and Mandalorian's had shared such past sessions of would-be diplomacy.

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
Mig nodded to the Officer and followed, V1 trailing behind. It was a bit strange to him. He half thought he would be treated with more... wariness. After some time walking, the Alor laid his eyes on the conference room. It was open, which was actually nice. Despite his clan's affinity for space combat, he was still from an ag-world, and have a conference room that at least felt open was nice. The little astromech let out some trilling binary, winning a tap on the head by Mig. "Hey. This isn't that bad."

The Gred finally walked in, and sat at so that he could listen to [member="Veiere Arenais"] . He noted that there were no recording devices in the room, and that no one would be able to hear them. Mig nodded to the Jedi, calmly removing his helmet to show his face, scars and all.

"Thank you, Jetii Arenais. I'm just glad that you were willing to take the time." He then listened to the man speak of the United Clan's and Silver Jedi... rocky past, but noted his hope that this would be unbiased. He also stated that the Jedi's aim was to avoid conflicted. While Mig had to admit he wasn't always convinced that the Silvers were fully behind avoiding conflict at times. He remembered that many jumped to conclusion on both sides though. He then spoke up, remaining calm.

"While I must admit I'm not always convinced, you've been fair to Clan Tal, and I can call at least one among you a friend. So, I'm not sure how much you know of what I'm hoping, but currently there is still a large number of my clan on Taanab. Given recent events and some plans from what's left of the clans, some of Clan Gred are wanting to remain on the world. Some in order to help protect the world. Others because they feel like it's the best option for them. I know that the hospital and Tal Stronghold are considered neutral, but I wanted to be sure everything was settled before hand."

Veiere took his chair after [member="Mig Gred"] had taken his; the Jedi Master leaning back as he listened to his Guest speak of Clan Tal and Taanab, nodding lightly as he quickly understood the direction this meeting was headed. "While Taanab's a Silver Jedi World now, it's true that we've allowed Clan Tal to remain there despite their loyalties to the United Clans of Mandalore. [member="Taozi Fuyuan"] and I met shortly after the incident between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the forces of 'The Infernal'..." Veiere spoke of the former Mand'alor by title rather than use her name, given his guest and his intent to show a sense of mutual respect in their discussion. Hopefully it would set a precedent for future meetings and interactions should there be any.

"As I explained to Taozi however, the Silver Jedi are all too aware of the risks that come with such allowances, given our two peoples history. No doubt you'll understand why there's a sense of caution, given the way things have gone..." he explained gingerly, the subject being something of a delicate matter. "Taanab currently rests upon the border between us and the Sith Empire, yet also former worlds of the United Clans. If you're looking for sanctuary, we can certainly cater for your people, yet we need assurances that law and order will remain on Taanab". It didn't require much of an imagination to see the picture Veiere was verbally painting, nor the opportunity for a rebellion by these Mandalorian's having been granted solace on Taanab, only to rise against the Silver Jedi in an attempted coup.

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
Mig listened [member="Veiere Arenais"] carefully, understanding his various concerns. Concerns about the possibility of the Mandalorians at Taanab turning on the Jedi. He knew many sentiments even among his own clan was a dislike at the least of the jetii. He looked at the Master, sighing slightly in understanding. He leaned back, looking at Veiere.

"I understand the possible issues. My own Ridu... sorry. Wife, has issues with the SJO after the war that's happened. I can't blame anyone for them either. After what I've seen... hear in particular. The tactics used.... I comes more down to the same things that painted us. Allies. However, I've learn to look closer into thing." He tapped V1's head, sighing slightly.

"All I can say is, I can assure you that those of my clan that choose to stay on Taanab would be there to help protect the world and its people, not try to plunge it into more war. Just to live. I'll do whatever is needed to make this work. Provide starships once we find a new yard, teach some jetii'ike (Padawans), help you in your endeavors elsewhere. As long as I'm not attacking my vod, I'll help in any way I can."

Veiere lifted a hand in want for pause following [member="Mig Gred"]'s offer of providing Starships and the like; "That won't be necessary. The Silver Jedi don't require a price for others to live safely, comfort and security is a right that every man deserves, regardless of their affiliations" Veiere expressed with a faint smile, wishing to convey a hope for their two peoples to be able to move passed these past aggression. "My own wife and children took a hit from this whole mess..." He added with more of a genuine show to his personal character, for a moment leaning away from the formalities of the meeting to show a sense of his personal regrets for the way politics had twisted the relationship between the Order and the Mandalorians; "If there is a way for our people's to move forward, then I would hope we can find it one day...".

"As for Taanab..." Veiere continued, reverting back to the subject at hand; "What do you need to get settled down on the surface. The Order can assist you in getting your people on the ground if needs be. I realize your Clan may not exactly find it a comfortable experience given our recent history, but if there's something I can do to assist you then perhaps that's a good start" he looked to Mig thoughtfully, not wishing to sound as though he were getting ahead of himself, but violence had never been the thing Veiere had ever desired in life. It had been a consequence that the Silver Jedi were required to undertake in order to enforce law and some semblance of Order in the sector.

Mig gave [member="Veiere Arenais"] a surprised look as he said no sort of service would be necessary for some of his clan to move to Taanab. He couldn't help but agree with the jetii. So many governments would have been trying to take advantage of his clan right now, but the Silver Jedi weren't. Heck, considering everything that had happened, he wouldn't have really blamed them, yet Veiere seemed to be intent on not letting that be the case. He then noted that his own family was affected by the conflict. Mig nodded, leaning back slightly.

"Kay told me some of it, and I've already said my clans divided on the issue. I can understand it." He then heard the Master talk about his hope that their people would find a way forward. "Have to admit, I hope so as well. Half because everyone else seems to want us dead, but it's still a hope." The last part was said more lightheartedly, in a way that showed Mig was partially joking. There was some truth to it though, particularly for him and Tamar. He then heard Veiere ask about what Clan Gred would need to settle on the surface. Mig smiled slightly, glad to here a question like that.

"Well... assuming there's no room with the Tal for those coming, supplies to build a small camp probably. We've lived on an ag-planet for some time, so it's not out of sorts for us to know how to farm."

"After the Confederacy targeted the world's agricultural value in their attack, the Silver Service Corps were put to work in trying to recover the damage that had been done to Taanab" Veiere explained, the farm-lands of Taanab having been one of their major exports and financial incomes; "It's taking time, but we're slowly making headway and for the most part, Taanab is almost fully independent once again. There will be plenty of resources that the Assembly can offer in order to get you and your Clan settled in a place of your choosing" Veiere confirmed.

At the time of the attack being strewn across the world's surface, Veiere had been boarding an allied vessel in order to combat Darth Prazutis, fortunately for the confederacy whom would have heard his argument in their tactics. This was however, something that couldn't be publicly aired for the fact that the Silver Jedi were still allied with the Confederates, and they had been true to their world in restraining themselves from resorting to blood thirsty tactics in the time since then.

"Is your Clan all aboard your vessel?" Veiere soon asked curiously, "Are they out of reach from the Sith Empire?" He inquired further as to express the point of his asking.

Mig listened carefully to what Veiere said, rubbing his left eye slightly out of habit. It was scarred, replaced with a cybernetic unit. Taanab... wasn't his best day, and he could feel something from the Jedi too. A... regret, or unease. It was understandable. Mig hated much of that battle. The raising of the dead to attack a hospital, sending a dreadnaught into atmosphere, blockading to the point of saying no ship could leave, even relief ships.... It wasn't how he'd do it, and something told him this Jetii would agree.

"I may've had some doubts before, but it seems like you have actually don't this planet right. And thank you for the offer to help get those staying settled in." The master then asked if the rest of Clan Gred were out of the reach of the Sith. Mig nodded slightly, tapping V1's head. The little droid then opened up a hologram of the galaxy.

"Most have been leave Taanab as they've gotten well, and are with the fleet here." An orange dot soon appeared, before Mig pointed to Taanab. "So are still on Taanab, either waiting for ali... family to be able to fly, or waiting for the results of this meeting. Others... are scattered. Maybe out bounty hunting or mercenary work during the attack. I order them to stay away for now. just do your jobs." He then sighed. "I do have something to offer too. For Taanab's defense."

[member="Veiere Arenais"]

It was good to hear that [member="Mig Gred"]'s Clan were all accounted for. Fighting on the side of the Confederacy wasn't always an easy thing to justify for a Jedi, and the Silver Jedi Order held a firm alliance with the Independent Systems for many significant reasons worthy of justifying their strong diplomatic ties, yet when it came to conflict, they differed somewhat extravagantly where offensive tactics were concerned.

Veiere's own wife had been unconvinced as to the Silver Jedi's discrimination against Mandalorian's. Veiere had tried to explain that they were working against criminal conduct and crimes that anyone were to be held accountable for, and that their Niece's actions didn't reflect on all Mandalorian's as a whole. It was simply unfortunate that many paid the price for the actions of the leading body. Never an easy discussion to raise, and always one to turn to argument from the Jedi Master's previous experience.

Hearing that Mig's doubts might have been put at ease, was a relief to Veiere, as it had never been his intention to discriminate anyone based upon their culture. It wasn't the Jedi way, nor was it his way of living.

"I'm glad to hear it" He said with a smile, "You can inform them they need not keep their distance anymore. Your people can begin to set up home on Taanab as soon as you wish" he added encouragingly. "On the subject of the planet's defense, while it's not expected and you're not under any obligation at all, the Silver Jedi won't turn down the assistance to further secure Taanab from further harm".

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
Mig smiles when he heard [member="Veiere Arenais"] say that they could settle on Taanab as soon as they wished. It made him happy to know that those who wished to remain on this world could. It still amazed him how readily accepting Veiera was of more Mandalorians coming to the planet. Maybe him being a bit closer to the situation was part of it.

“That’s good to hear,” Mig quickly said before saying something to V1, who began to show holograms of two ships. The large was marked as an Enigma-class FAC. The other, a GF-2 TwinTail. Mig looked to the Jedi, sighing lightly.

“It isn’t much. We can only spare one Enigma, and admittedly she’ll need some work still. And the TwinTails.... Only a squadron. Eight fighter was all that survived Concord Dawn. Aries already has an upgrade in the works though, and admittedly I fell they’re more needed here. Even then, taking droids into account, not enough Gred’s that want to stay to fill crew positions or pilot seats. It’d be hard to find volunteers, but I think it’d make the other Jetii feel a bit easier knowing not everyone helping defend the world is Mandalorian.”

Veiere studied the holograms of the two vessels curiously, though in truth he wasn't the one to delve into the technicalities of naval vessels. His position on the Judiciary was more due to the fact that he had put forward the funds to construct the Heavy Cruiser, as opposed to having actually earned the rank of Captaincy through a long lived Naval Career. Such was why he had his second in command, Vikras Ansion whom was every part the naval tactician.

"I'm sure the Order will be more than happy to accept the added support, they will be certain to provide" Veiere acknowledged with a smile, "I'm no genius when it comes to weapons of war, mind you. I have no doubt however that our engineers or whomever takes these on board, will be pleased with the added numbers to the rest of our navy. If at the very least, Taanab will benefit from a little added protection should the need arise".

"Otherwise..." Veiere brought his hands together as he looked back to [member="Mig Gred"], "Everything sounds fine on your end?" He asked, looking for any needs that might need to be aired before they might conclude the meeting. Mig would find he had a good amount of freedom, most likely more than he might have expected given his origins and his now dealing with a member of the Silver Jedi. Despite their past, assumptions over the Order's methods weren't always understood by outsiders and could be easily taken the wrong way. If anything, Veiere was glad to be able to show a positive side of the Order today; and hopefully Mig felt the same about their meeting.
