Intent: To create a weapon based on antiquated technology that will be effective in the current and future battlefields, and to scratch my nostalgic itch :)
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: ReCal Manufacturing Inc.
Model: E-11 (everyone knows the E-11 right? )
Affiliation: ReCal, Rebel Alliance
Modularity: The open area on the barrel can have a ReCal Scope attached to it, but no other changes can be made
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Durasteel, blaster components, computer components

Classification: Blaster
Size: Handheld
Length: 50 cm
Weight: 5 kg
Ammunition Type: Gas Canister and Power Cell
Ammunition Capacity: Gas Canister has 300 shots
Power cell has 150 shots at lethal setting 300 shots at stun setting
Effective Range: Maximum range is 350 meters
Optimum range is 150 meters

Rate of Fire: Semi-automatic, fully automatic

Special Features: The normal scope attached to the weapon has a computer, allowing the user of the weapon to continue utilizing the E-11 in dark, hazy, or other vision impairing conditions. This version of the E-11 has had a decrease in recoil to allow for better accuracy; recoil was believed to be the main problem with the original E-11 and many stormtroopers preferred the carbine version because it allowed for more accuracy. The weapons shots have increased in power to make up for the increase in armor strength, which has taken a tole on the gas canister's ammo capacity. The Power cell has been increased in amount of power allowing for more shots, at a lesser strength than the Gas Canister.

Description: Corruck has found that taking older weapons/technology and upgrading it to a standard that is equivalent of today's weaponry has effective and very positive results. This weapon was a favorite of Imperial Stormtroopers during the days of the Empire. They were a staple of the Imperial Army due to their versatility in combat and their ability to be upgraded upon as the times required. This weapon has been updated with stronger fire power, so deal with the armors that have increased in strength as time went on, this has had an effect on the ammo capacity, though the power cells have increased in ammo capacity.

The weapon has the ability to be used in conditions where visuals are less than exemplary. These weapons have a decreased recoil thanks to recent technological improvements, this allows the weapon to have increased accuracy and a quicker rate of accurate fire. Normally the increase in weapon firepower would increase recoil, on top of the fact that the E-11 was rumored to have horrible recoil to begin with, however the scientists at ReCal have found a number of inefficiencies that have been addressed from the original design. The weapon's design has had a number of holes added behind the firing chamber. These holes are closed until about 0.5 seconds after the trigger is pulled. This gives the gas enough time to be ignited, but allows the majority of the excess pressure, the gas pushing back causing recoil, to escape through the holes. The precision of the mechanism is simply due to painstaking time spend on each piece (at least for the first gun, all those that follow are built by computer and machines that create the parts), because it is so precise and very small dropping a weapon from a height of 5 meters to the ground can (not always will) cause a shattering of the pieces locking the holes closed making the weapon more inaccurate than its predecessor. Also unless the user is wearing protection on their hands first going on second degree burns will result. This is a side effect of the heated gas being released to alleviate the recoil.

Gladly.

Alright all that I have added is on the final paragraph. Below is what was added:

"Normally the increase in weapon firepower would increase recoil, on top of the fact that the E-11 was rumored to have horrible recoil to begin with, however the scientists at ReCal have found a number of inefficiencies that have been addressed from the original design. Do you think that would allow this to work?

Did some quick research on Recoil and figured that the only real way was to somehow alleviate the pressure that pushes back as the shot goes forward. I hope that this is satisfactory, but I'll gladly go through it again and make changes as needed

The method of recoil-alleviation that you have used is allowing the gas to escape out the back of the barrel, releasing rather hot gases into the hand of whomever is holding the weapon. I would like to ask that you point this out.

Ah, didn't think of that.

Added:

"Also unless the user is wearing protection on their hands first going on second degree burns will result. This is a side effect of the heated gas being released to alleviate the recoil."
