Biography:

Involved in crime since the day she was born, Teica grew up blinded by the indoctrination of her parents, and most importantly, the resurrected White Worms syndicate. Her parents passed on an attitude of resentment toward the Core Worlds, toward the rich, to her, an idea that would fuel her even after they both died. Once the young girl's biological guardians had left her, the syndicate became fully responsible for her training.

By the age of 14, Teica's devotion to the cause, and knack for the operation of machinery, had landed her a position as a getaway driver. Regularly, she handled repulsorcraft of varying sizes and types, carefully building up her reputation. The world collapsed on her at the age of 15. Through a catastrophic attack on a rival gang, she found herself bleeding and the last of her mission group. Unable to reach home base, Teica retreated for an alley, and prepared to spend the night there. But, eventually, the suppressed tears became crying, and the blood leaked until she collapsed.

Teica had woken up in a hospital bed, now in stable condition. Earlier that night, Mashella Giraan, a former SIA agent had discovered and taken the near-dead teenager to have her injuries treated. Much to Teica's discomfort, she would have to remain in bed for a few more days. She never truly resisted, merely remaining skeptical of everything the doctors said. However, she often found comfort listening to Mashella's stories, as she would visit regularly, eventually growing fond of the woman. When the time came that she was released, Teica, now with an idealized view of the world around her, of the galaxy to explore, chose not to once again join with the White Worms. Instead, she opted to follow Giraan. With little hesitation, Mashella adopted Teica as her own.

At the age of 19, Teica's eyes had turned from the grime-filled depths of Corellia, and to the stars instead. With a tearful goodbye, the young woman left her adoptive mother, and set off for Corellia's naval academy, and through relentless studying, and development of preexisting skills, she found herself graduating and joining the force.

Upon graduating, the newly-promoted Ensign Giraan was rostered within the Corellian Security Bureau's Interdiction branch, now the helm officer about the corvette Huntress. Several years of loyal, and dutiful service saw Teica rising to the rank of Lieutenant. But the joy, and rewards of the promotion would be short lived. First, she heard of the battle over Fondor, and the various other violent skirmishes that began to break out between the Alliance and Sith Empire. But then, she heard the final salvo of news. The Sith had taken Coruscant, and the Alliance had collapsed.

When the Sith moved for Corellia, the Huntress and its flotilla had run, disappeared from the territory until the opportunity would arise to retake their home. She wouldn't have to wait long, however, and the Huntress would once again find itself in Corellian space, now as the planet's liberators.

Further time began to pass, and Teica witnessed the rise and decay of the newly Corellian Confederation, though her loyalties never faltered. When the galactic situation began to calm itself, and Corellia joined the ranks of the new Galactic Alliance, the lieutenant-- though reluctantly-- was reassigned in a gesture of cooperation, now awarded the rank of captain, and thrust into the ranks of the G.A's defense force.

As the commanding officer of the ANV Peacemaker, Captain Giraan served long in the Stygian Campaign against the Sith Empire, until her career took a dark turn at the battle of Ziost. In a heartbreaking series of events as she fired upon a sith dreadnought, the captain's ship was destroyed, and her crew sustained heavy losses. In the aftermath, she barely escaped with her life, later receiving a promotion to Commander for valor, and being assigned temporary command over the ANV Clarity. Even through her later commands, memories of Ziost would haunt her, plaguing her thoughts even when she was given command over the ANV Resolution.
