Tegaea Alcori

NAME: Tegaea Alcori
FACTION: Omega Protectorate
RANK: Exarch of Eriadu. 2IC of the Protectorate.
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 32
GENDER: Female
HEIGHT: 5’11”
WEIGHT: 160lb
EYES: Brown
HAIR: Red
SKIN: White, though heavily tanned.
FORCE SENSITIVE: No

STRENGTHS:
  • Experienced. Progress to higher levels of command has taught Tegaea how to command and how to organise. Though no genius she is now a capable leader of a considerable section of the galaxy.
  • The Common Touch. Having grown up in abject poverty and despair, working her way up the ranks, Tegaea understands all too well what it’s like to be normal. She thus has a great understanding when it comes to policy, and is something of a reformer.
  • Controlled and Calm. Though given to occasional fits of anger, Tegaea has become much calmer, more rational, clearer headed under the influence of command. It has turned her from a headstrong warrior to a leader.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Merely Human. Tegaea is an ordinary human woman in all other respects. She has no discernible Force ability, nor special racial skills.
  • Blunted Edge. While 7 years with OP has done wonders for her skills of command and leadership, it has come at a price. Tegaea no longer fights on the frontlines and her somewhat legendary physique has become merely exceptionally fit.
  • Not A Bureaucrat. Unfortunately Tegaea’s work is mostly administration and diplomacy. The latter she can handle, the former she still has troubles with. Though she tries hard, she lacks the instinctive command of administration that others might.
  • Attachments. Tegaea is a married woman. Her affections for a certain Siobhan Kerrigan have transformed her, though at the price of giving her someone who she truly loves and cannot bear to lose. She places Siobhan above almost anything else, which can cause problems with her normally solid judgement.
SHIP:
Tegaea uses shuttles mainly, though she does have a Jaegar Class Star Destroyer set aside for her personal use, separate from the ODF. This ship, the Renown is her command ship.

BIOGRAPHY:
(Revised bio)
Tegaea Alcori was born on Coruscant towards the end of the 400 year darkness. Her parents, Markus Strago and Livia Alcori, lived with Markus’ brother Zev in a rundown area of the slums. The plague and dark age had hit the city planet hard, and those conditions were only just starting to improve when Tegaea was born.
Growing up, Tegaea very quickly learned resilience and how to survive in the nightmarish assortment of ruins, alleys and gang-infested dens. Her mother worked as a dancer, while her father as a labourer and occasionally helped Zev out with undisclosed activities. With this income they were able to survive, though conditions were hard.
When Tegaea was seven the family fell afoul of Gorza the Hutt, a crimelord of considerable power. Extorting loans from the family, he also came into conflict with Zev Strago’s budding underworld company. On one faithful day Zev and Markus went out on a routine job and her father never returned. It was later reported that Gorza’s thugs had killed Markus. Much later on though Tegaea learned that her uncle had killed his own brother, possibly to save his own life.
Getting together all the possessions they owned, Livia and Tegaea managed to reach one of the uplevel elevators. When their limited possessions did not allow them both passage Livia was forced to stay behind while Tegaea went up to her fate. Tegaea never saw her mother again for many years.
Arriving on the top layer at the dawn of the Galactic Republic Tegaea was dumped into an orphanage where conditions were harsh. However, her cunning and quick wits impressed one of the women in charge of the children and she favoured Tegaea and virtually adopted her.
At the age of fifteen Tegaea escaped the orphanage after her protector died. Joining the newly founded Republic army, Tegaea was first trained as a medical orderly and when she became eighteen she became a soldier. Those years were tough for Tegaea, as the new Republic was poorly disciplined and abuse was rife. It is probable that Tegaea was sexually abused at this point by a sergeant. After that she was determined never to be out of control again. Working hard she made herself physically strong and trained relentlessly. Seeing action in many conflicts, Tegaea saw firsthand the horrors of war. For her bravery on Chandrilla she was made a Sergeant. On one mission Tegaea encountered Siobhan Kerrigan and rescued her from energy vampires, helping her take revenge on her enemies.

At twenty-three Tegaea’s enlistment was up and she left the military. Returning to Coruscant she was determined to find her mother. Gathering a group of former soldiers she headed down into the depths to find things had changed. Gorza the Hutt was dead, her uncle was long gone, and conditions had improved in the previous fifteen years. It was when she visited a public clinic though that she found her mother, deathly ill. The two had a reconciliation for a few days before Livia finally died.
Naturally devastated, Tegaea became a mercenary, wandering the galaxy. Her skills and tactical leadership ensured that she soon rose to a position of leadership in the Dark Stars, and eventually took over leading them. However, business was bad with so many other disaffected mercenaries and private armies, so for long periods she had to stay on Coruscant in between jobs.
It was at this time that Tegaea took on her other job which she is somewhat famous for. Surprisingly there was an active market for it, and the job paid well enough that she didn’t have to stoop to being a bouncer or thug to survive.

Tegaea’s big break came when, at the age of twenty-five she heard of a new and powerful mercenary organisation based at Fondor. It was named Omega Pyre. Gathering together all the crew and ships she could possibly muster, Tegaea headed for Fondor to meet the leader of Omega Pyre. In many ways, this was a last throw of the dice for Tegaea, as her ships badly needed maintenance and her mercenaries were about to run out of money.
The meeting she had with the enigmatic Cira would change everything. After putting on an impressive show, Tegaea’s company was absorbed into Omega Pyre and she was made CEO, second only to Cira. At this time Tegaea was most active in frontline roles, leading contracts in person. On one of these contracts Tegaea was able to meet up with Siobhan Kerrigan again. Persuading the former Jedi to join the Pyre, the two quickly formed a strong bond and relationship.
Omega Pyre was not content to merely be a mercenary band though, and from an early point started to consolidate and bring order to the systems nearby. Using Fondor’s shipyards and Thyferra’s bacta, the company was able to expand rapidly. At Abregado-Rae Tegaea personally led an assault with Siobhan and gained the planet for Omega Pyre. Later, a deal with the Syndicate added considerable systems such as Duros and Corellia to Omega Pyre’s control.

The key battle and probable turning point of Tegaea’s career came at Vandelhelm, as it was one of her last in direct tactical command of an expedition. There, Omega Pyre overcame the pirates and mercenaries who had occupied the planet, but more importantly it started the process towards a complete reformation in the state.
Shortly after Vandelhelm Omega Pyre occupied Malastare and Denon, these two battles Tegaea had taken part in were her last frontline missions. The reason for this was that Omega Pyre had grown to the point where it was far too large to be considered a company any more, it was an empire in its own right. Therefore, the territory under the Pyre’s control was reorganised into the Omega Protectorate, with Cira becoming the first Lady Protector. As one of the first people to have joined, and having proved her worth many times, Tegaea was promoted to the new rank of Exarch, placing her second only to Cira.
The effect on Tegaea was immense. Suddenly she was confronted with a massive leadership and bureaucratic role unlike anything she’d done before. With the help of her aide and friend Anya though she tried to make the situation work. Here Tegaea changed from being a soldier and frontline officer to being a political force. No longer was she expected to fight personally, but to organise and govern. The territory given to her, later expanded with further conquests, composed tens of billions of people, and so her staff and department ballooned to accommodate this new work.
Bureaucracy did not come easily to Tegaea, but she was determined to succeed, to prove that she could do it. Working often 14-16 hour days for weeks at a time she was determined to master the intricacies of government. And, in time, she did, but at a cost. Her once impressive physique lost its edge due to a lack of time to maintain it, though she stayed strong and fit regardless. Her weapons and armour sat forgotten in storage, as styluses and datapads became her new tools of the trade. The struggle to conquer bureaucracy still continues, but Tegaea has proven herself capable and fit to hold the role of Exarch.

On a personal note, this time saw Tegaea become closer and more dedicated to Siobhan Kerrigan. The two of them, lovers on and off for many years, became dedicated to each other and eventually married. Tegaea is very protective and tries to be as supportive of Siobhan as she can, perhaps being too forgiving of her according to some. At the age of 32, Tegaea married Siobhan, ushering in a new period in her life.

Major events of the galaxy did not pass Tegaea by either. She was heavily involved in the Clockwork Rebellion, and later in the Roche Campaign as the negotiator with the Republic. Recently she has taken a major diplomatic role in advising Cira on matters of foreign policy.

And so, at this point Tegaea Alcori has experienced something of a polar shift in the previous seven years. Going from mercenary soldier to permanent officer to political leader has been a dramatic change, but one which she has so far succeeded with.

OLD BIO
NAME:
Tegaea Alcori

FACTION: ??? Currently Mercenary

RANK: ‘Captain’ of
Mercenary group. Formerly Lieutenant.

SPECIES: Human

AGE: 26

GENDER: Female

HEIGHT: 5’11”

WEIGHT: 155lb

EYES: Brown

HAIR: Red

SKIN: White, though
heavily tanned.

FORCE SENSITIVE: No

STRENGTHS:

Tegaea is an experienced and talented soldier over a dozen years’ experience. During that time she has operated on many battlefields in a variety of roles. She has a deep understanding of tactical leadership and command, as well as lower level logistics and supply skills. She is also generally very popular with her troops due to her ability to delegate and lead from the front.

Tegaea is very physically fit and robust. Her training and conditioning has made her a skilled user of ranged, melee and heavy
weapons. Her main weapon of choice is a blaster carbine, vibroknife and
grenades.

WEAKNESSES:

Tegaea is an ordinary human woman in all other respects. She has no discernible Force ability, nor special racial skills. She is just a soldier trying to make her way in the galaxy by her own efforts.

Tegaea is not a capable pilot in non-combat situations, but has no skills as a fighter or vehicle pilot in combat.

Tegaea is not well educated, having grown up in a situation of poverty and hand-to-mouth survival. Afterwards she received only basic training in literacy and numeracy, meaning that she can read and write but she is rather uncultured. This does not mean she is stupid, just that she doesn’t have a classical education.

While normally quite balanced mentally Tegaea has been hardened by her experiences and lacks empathy for her enemies and can be quite brutal when called for. She finds it hard to relate with normal civilians and can feel resentful towards those who are better off than her.

SHIP:

For the use of her mercenary company, Tegaea has a corvette of approximately the same size as the old Corellian corvettes like the Tantive IV. In addition to being fast and quite well armed and armoured, this ship, named Aegis also carried a half dozen fighters which act as escorts. Her company also has access to numerous smaller freighters and light ships.

BIOGRAPHY:

(Since many things such as exact names of factions, backstory etc are yet to be
determined, this bio is very much subject to change.)

Tegaea was born into the slums and dark underworld of
Coruscant. The ravages of plague had ensured that mortality was high, and that
what little was available was fought over. Tegaea’s parents were typical of the
sort who lived in the depths of the decaying city; desperate, determined and
opportunistic. With little law to constrain people, communities formed informal
groups and each block became a virtually independent settlement. What
government came from above was arbitrary and random, as the galactic situation
was still extremely uncertain.

So Tegaea grew up in this situation, soon learning to inure herself
to the sight of death and suffer, to take what she needed and wanted when she
could. There was little time for being a child, so she soon learned to make
improvised explosives, detect signs of infection in plague victims and even use
a gun. All of this before the age of ten. During one of the endless battles in
the gloom Tegaea’s father was killed when she was fourteen and her mother and
her were forced to flee.

An arduous trip followed through the ravaged city until they
reached one of the guarded elevator shafts leading to the surface. There, they
begged to be allowed to escape. At first they were refused, but the last
outbreak of the plague had decimated planetary forces, and they needed
recruits. They were allowed to escape, but Tegaea was conscripted into the Imperial’s
army, and her mother into the local medical corps. Tegaea never saw her mother
again.

Training and equipment in this time after the dark age was
rudimentary at best. Indeed, most of the weapons used were barely changed from
centuries before. This apprenticeship was brutal for Tegaea, a young girl with
no family, no friends and no education. It’s almost certain that she was at
least harassed, if not sexually assaulted by her fellow soldiers, which was
sort of a cruel initiation to the military. Whatever happened, it turned Tegaea
into a woman who relied only on herself and prompted her to make herself strong
so she would not be helpless again. Two years later when a drunk soldier tried
to force himself on her she stabbed him through the groin with a knife. For
that she was imprisoned but later released.

As the dark ages finally began to end, the Galactic Empire
began finally to be worthy of this name as more and more planets were
reclaimed. In the forefront of these battles was Tegaea, who rose to be
Sergeant before the age of twenty. Such was the high mortality rate that such a
promotion didn’t seem out of place. In these battles Tegaea learnt how to
survive, how to fight, and how to kill. She was wounded several times, but
apart from a scar on her face she avoided permanent injury. Perhaps the Force
was with her.

When she was twenty-four she was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant,
and in that capacity led troops bravely for over a year. On her twenty fifth
birthday she received word that her mother had died, apparently of an
unspecified illness. For years she had tried to return and see her mother, but
had been blocked at every turn. Now though, angry and upset, she tried to
discover answers, but was again stymied wherever she looked. Finally her
questions got her arrested and imprisoned, where she was beaten and sentenced to
ten years imprisonment.

Now set on a course, Tegaea managed to escape while being
transported to prison and returned to Coruscant. There she found the truth; her
mother had been forced to work as the virtual slave of a high ranking Imperial
figure and had been shot while trying to escape. Vowing vengeance, Tegaea
turned not to the Alliance or the Jedi, but to her own wits, forming a small
group of mercenaries who operated against the Empire. To get money she would
work with practically anyone but the Sith or Empire. During a raid she was able
to acquire her own ship, fighters and supplies to make herself virtually
independent. Though her operation is quite small she has a considerable talent
for quick attacks and tactical strikes.

Her company, the Dark Stars, are available for hire at a
reasonable rate….
