Teen's Day Out (Open to Teen Characters)

The Chiss continued to eat his food that was almost finished and his cake had just arrived.

" Perfect timing "

He cut the cake into six large slices and took one to eat, he had no idea how he would eat all the cake since he didn't really have a home to bring it too. After finishing with his meal he started on his first piece of cake, the texture was perfect and the chocolate was very fresh and still hot.

The Chiss was now listening in on the group of teens, he had nothing else to do and it's not like they were quiet either, the Chiss had always been alone he did not know how to approach or interact with others. And since the Jedi kicked him out after his master died he did not think they would be friendly to an outsider so he just avoided the whole situation.

The Fencing championship was now over with Coruscant winning 1st place like always, it seemed like it was rigged it happened all the time.

" That's complete NONSENSE " he yelled in an almost disappointed tone

Her laughter was infectious. Jerek tried to follow who Vexia was engaged with, some sibling pair who had come to the diner as well, but all he could focus on was the sound of her laughter. It fixed a grin on his face, one he felt he'd never lose, not even in death.

And then he almost died.

When Vexia scooted over to make room for others at the diner counter, she closed the gap between her and Jerek. Now she was sitting right next to him, and her presence was intoxicating. It made his throat swell a little, and his heart sound in his ears, but that didn't matter. Nothing really mattered anymore, the cares of his day vanished in Vexia's presence. What's better, she watched him as she talked, and Jerek felt completely at ease as he did so.

What was going on with him, anyway?

"Roon, huh? I've never gotten down there. Is it nice?" the boy mused, wondering what brought someone all the way out from the Southern rim of the galaxy into the Core. She said technology, but when Jerek heard Vexia was a pilot and explorer, he knew the truth in an instant. He was seated next to a kindred spirit! And an attractive one at that, if he was being honest with himself. He was going to be honest with himself now, wasn't he?

He liked her. There, now it was real. Cute, great laugh, loves piloting, what more did Jerek really want?

"I'm from Ossus, at least I was. I seem to be from all over now, mostly Coreward like New Republic space and a lot of the former Alliance territory." Jerek said cheerily, happy to answer his own question in return. At least he had been from Ossus, before...well, he had been from Ossus. The teen dismissed the gloomy thoughts with a wave of his hand as it reached for his cup of fizzyglug, nearly empty now. As was his plate, the remnants of his coleslaw were joined by the crumbs of his burger bun.

As others chimed in about where they were from, Jerek kept his attention on Vexia for the most part —easy to do when she consumed most of his vision when looking down the counter at the others. He barely heard where others were from, catching bits about the First Order and Kashyyyk. The last one, that was where the Silver Jedi were based now, wasn't it? He could feel the energy in the room, he clearly wasn't the only Force user at the diner today, but he hadn't paid it much attention. Now he did, and he could sense the Dark Side coming from the girl sitting next to him.

He probably should have been disgusted. He probably should have left in revulsion, or at least found somewhere else to sit.

Instead, he stayed put, and the Neuvian sundae was set before him by a server. Two spoons.

Jerek turned to Vexia and held out one of the spoons to her.

He was still grinning.

She would have been able to understand the feeling the twins had, perhaps better than anyone else could. Allya too hid who she was. Allya Vi'Dreya, youngest daughter of Darth Metus, leader of the Confederacy. She had been at a party next to the twins parents not so long ago, not that she knew it. However, for her, it was the endless assassination attempts that had scarred her body and psyche, the endless pressure to measure up to her father, the endless battles she forced herself through to be of use, that she tried to hide from. Of course the endless people who wished to use her to get close to her father. It was exhausting.

Sadly, she didn't yet know the twins were similar. Instead, she just laughed and smiled at them. “Sounds awesome. I've always wanted to go Kashyyyk.” Dark fingers tap her cheek as she keeps eating. When she got scooted close to Jerek, she blushed a bit and looked to the side, chewing the inside of her cheek a bit. “Ahhh, Roon......” With that thought, she dazed off for a moment....She remembered the dark side nexus that held her clan fortress, and the dark side temple that she had been forced to train as a Sith in. The insanity always clawing at her mind from the nexus, having to learn to overcome it, while having Sith history drilled into her, being left in the middle of no where, no food, or weapons, with assassin droids trying to kill her, and having to survive as one of her Sith trials, of the severe beatings when she hadn't done well her combat drills well enough, of brutal spars that had left her body scarred. “It's a weird place. It doesn't have day or night. My home is in eternal twilight, in a beautiful river valley. It's near the ocean so I built a small shack out there by the water too. It was a good place to grow up, to be honest. A lot of different types of people, and environments. It never gets to hot or too cold, but where you go, changes the temperature and what you find there.”

As the sundae comes to them, her eyes go wide for a moment. As Jerek senses the dark side on her, she can sense him probing her, and it sends her into a brief panic. He would easily be able to tell that she then began to use a Jedi meditation technique, to calm her heart, slow her breathing and push her emotions to the side. It would be a well practiced mannerism, something she did often. Keep it contained, don't worry, don't panic. She could feel Jerek was well versed in the force as well, but instead of fleeing, she gave him a smile, grabbed one of the spoons and took a big bite out of the sundae. “Aha! First bite is mine!” Tongue gets stuck out at the boy in a brief, playful manner.

The girl gave a thoughtful expression to Jerek. Probably a playboy pilot Jedi type. Still, it was rare she got to be playful or just do what she wanted. Following her passions, she just acts, picking up the spoon, putting a bit on it, and then bringing it up to Jerek's mouth. “Open up.” Her voice dripped with a teasing tone.

“Exploring is good. It's good to remember your family, and your roots, but, you have to use your past, to grow and expand. I'm from CIS space myself, so its a bit different than many of the other places in the galaxy. And I am sure we all have had our share of drama. But yeah, its wonderful to meet you all. Frankly, just getting to sit here and chat isn't something I get to do a lot.” Between helping design new droids, ships, and the like, and her duties in the military, the young girl just hadn't had a ton of free time lately. Even now, she only got the time, due to the technology fairs going on. As the Chiss made a loud outburst, she burst out laughing, the spoon wobbling a little. "Hahah, made a bad bet, buddy?" She asked the Chiss.

This kinda thing seemed to happen a lot lately, for the most part, the Chiss was very good at predicting the winners of these fencing tournaments but he had been on a losing streak. Still shocked and it kinda hurt, he snapped out of it when one of the teens at the bar responded to his outburst.

" It seems so, for the 3rd time and I double up on this one also " He responded to [member="Allya Vi'Dreya"]

" Might as well stress eat " He muttered to himself.

He grabbed another piece of cake and began to dig in, the cake had chocolate chips inside of the fluffy cake, something he hadn't noticed with the first piece. Jimmy made an attempt to gently probe some of the teens trying to get a feel for their signature since it was apparent most were force sensitive which he had only just realized.

It was rare to find a group of force sensitive teenagers like this, it seemed they all knew each other although one of them stood out as slightly darker. The Chiss did not discriminate against light nor Dark but Jedi or other light side users tend to be snobby or overconfident. Then again Sith and Dark Jedi have cons as well.

Downtime. Lori had a lot of that. In regards to her family, she was usually thought of last. Of course she was the youngest, so that was only natural. If it weren't for her to nearly beg her Dad into training her, she might not have gotten to spend much time with them at all. It was weird to be a family and yet everyone was so far apart from eachother.

Lori continued to eat, glad that [member="Caedyn Arenais"] took her hint and chose to keep their identities a secret. That gave her more cause to relax.

She took note of [member="Allya Vi'Dreya"] and [member="Jerek Zenduu"] and the way that they behaved around eachother. It reminded her of Cae and his various girlfriends; [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] being the latest. Lori raised a brow slightly, tilting her head to the side a bit asshe tried to think of any moment where she had a crush. That didn't take long for there was no one. Most of the people that she hung out with were more than twice her age. And more than likely it'd continue to be that way for a very long time. Maybe even forever!

That probably wasn't a bad thing. Unless of course she wanted to have a family of her own. Lori snickered to herself as she chowed down more. What a joke that would be! Lori as a Mom!

Honestly, there were only two girls that Cae had ever gotten close to in his life, outside of [member="Loreena Arenais"] and their Mom. @Beth Australis Mantis and [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] were the only ones that Caedyn had ever grown fond of, beyond the means of Family and friends. He didn't understand this notion of a harem that he had somehow built up for himself in the mind of his Sister, but he supposed it was one of those things he had to put up with, being a twin sibling to a cheeky brat that could give him as good as he dished out the jabs and insults to her in life long and competitive play.

"That's why they call it gambling..." Caedyn remarked, offering a glance over to [member="Allya Vi'Dreya"] before gesturing to the Chiss who had apparently lost a considerable portion of his bank. Betting on stuff wasn't Cae's idea of a good time, though he didn't have any resentment for those who did, he had just been taught that the chances were never in your favor and it was far easier to lose credits than it was to make them. "The amount of bets you have to place before you actually land yourself a 'winner' means that what credits you do actually win, usually only account for what you've already spent trying to get there...-and that's if you're lucky" he recited one of his Master's old lectures on the subject, doing his best though not reciting it word for word the way she had made it sound in all her wisdom.

A couple of them seemed to be eating, the closer pair having a go at a Sundae that looked rather tasty though Caedyn didn't have much of an appetite himself at that particular moment. Instead he was happy to simply sit with the group and give a bit of a yarn, for a spell. Taking the time out to socialize with those of his age group was rare, especially for the Je'daii whom seemed to be pretty much done for nowadays. Even back in their activity mind you, he was one of the very few teenagers around...The change was quite a welcome one, and with Asaraa on one side and his Sister on the other, it all felt like good company to him.

[member="Lord Combattere"] | [member="Jerek Zenduu"]

"You probably won't get anywhere gambling your life away," Asaraa agreed, pulling back from the giant milkshake in front of her with a satisfied smile. You could actually taste the ice cream they'd used to make it, just the way a milkshake should be...if it wasn't for the cold, almost brain freeze that came with every sip. Perhaps chugging the whole thing wasn't such a great idea. The girl reached out, pushing the glass away slightly as she glanced around the table at the other teenagers, fingers tapping on the surface as she grinned, "the game itself can be a lot of fun though. Pazaak, poker...you know a surprising number of card games seem to begin with a P don't they."

Blue eyes flicked over the group as she pursed her lips in thought before shrugging at the group. "I don't suppose anyone thought to pack a deck of cards with them while they're here did they? Cause this is the absolute perfect opportunity for us to play a game." She didn't think it was likely, but who knows how lucky she might get. You never knew if you didn't ask right? "Besides, sometimes it's fun to wager something on a contest, like bragging rights, or a treat, treats make the best prizes for any competition."

[member="Caedyn Arenais"] | [member="Loreena Arenais"] | [member="Lord Combattere"] | [member="Allya Vi'Dreya"] | [member="Jerek Zenduu"] |

Lori just continued to stuff her face. She had never played cards before, or gambled. So of course she'd be quick to lose. Come to think of it, did she ever play any games outside of the ones that she just made up? Nope. Most often she just entertained herself with pranks or thoughts of pranks. She didn't know her crew well enough to pull anything on them. Nor would she even think of pranking her Dad. [member="Caedyn Arenais"] was always her target. [member="Kaine Australis"] was at times too. But she barely saw them anymore.

Speaking of Kaine, she still owed him a lot of credits. But her year hasn't been up yet. Lori's missions and jobs were few and far between. At some point her luck would change so that she could earn enough to pay him back. Otherwise she might have to give it all up. Or at worse, try to get her parents to pay for it. But she didn't want to be the family failure. She wanted to be a hero like the rest of them.

If only some of her plans would go right.

Hearing Vexia talk about her homeworld in detail reminded Jerek of his visit to Sith-occupied Ossus. That had not been the strange utopia like she described, but just a hollow shell of its former self, a darkness overshadowing everything despite the sun shining. That certainly sounded like the lacking of day or night Roon had, but it was surreal how she seemed to revel in that nature. Jerek certainly couldn't imagine himself enjoying that existence, but he wasn't a darksider, either.

Vexia was, though, and Jerek was struggling to understand why that didn't make him more uncomfortable. Here she was, talking happily about a place that would give Jerek nightmares, the dark side oozing off of her, he should be disturbed. Even in the presence of other lightsiders, the scent of her was overwhelming. No, not scent, but mere feeling didn't explain the sensation well enough. Jerek's crude Human mind struggled to understand it, so scent was the easiest way to think of it. Darksiders stank, but she didn't.

She smelled almost clean, like disinfectant in a hospital. Harsh and irritating, but still a welcome aroma. Jerek wasn't quite sure what to make of that, and it gave him quite a bit of thought, something written plain on his face, until she spoke again.

He had to grin once more as the girl grabbed the other spoon and used it to take a scoop of the sundae for herself in a declared victory. She certainly wasn't shy, a quality unlike so many of the Jedi girls he had been around most of his life. They weren't shy, per se, perhaps reserved was a better term. The masters were usually quick to remind more boisterous students of their purpose for being at the academy on Ossus, and in the Jedi Order itself, leaving little room for romantic pursuits that didn't happen slowly.

Vexia certainly wasn't slow, either.

Jerek suddenly found his mouth assaulted by the frigid temperatures of the sundae's iced cream and fruits, the roof of his mouth turning painfully cold as his tongue recoiled from the touch of the metal spoon against it. He tried to swallow reflexively at the same time as he drew in surprised gasp of air, lodging the sundae contents in the wrong part of his throat.

He coughed and tried to breath in again, immediately feeling the panic signals his brain was firing at the failure to get any air. The boy stood quickly and backed up a few steps, coughing and gasping in a frantic reaction as his hand flew to his chest, his mind trying wildly to reassert itself over the pure instinct of the moment. Another second without air, but still enough to find clarity, saw him drawing in energy from the Force. He sent it through his hand in the next as he pushed in on his chest, expelling more of his air in a controlled burst, pushing the sundae contents back into his mouth and out onto the floor.

"What the feth was that for?" he shot at Vexia, heat rising in his voice once he found enough air to use it. He was still doubled over, reeling from the occasion, but slowly he found the power to stand. Perhaps he had been wrong to assume Vexia wasn't like any other darksider, she had certainly done a good job of trying to kill him. And yet, he didn't sense much malice from her, only mirth and playfulness. His anger softened a little, and he sat down again, offering, "I mean, I haven't had anyone feed me since I was a baby. I'm pretty good at doing it myself."

The others were talking about gambling for some reason. From the subject of the lectures flying across the room, the Chiss kid had made a losing bet on some kind of competition. It didn't take long for the conversation to go from chastising him to suggesting a game of their own, assuming anyone had a deck of cards. "Sure, I'm game for a..." game? Well, that would sound stupid. Not a great plan after looking stupid almost choking to death. "...uh, I'll play. If nobody has a deck of cards, maybe the diner has one?"

[member="Allya Vi'Dreya"] | [member="Lord Combattere"] | [member="Loreena Arenais"] | [member="Caedyn Arenais"] | [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] | [member="Kitrine Corsair"]

Allya laughed at the situation with the Chiss softly, in that musical tone, and she shook her head. “If it stops making sense, and the outcome is no longer what your expecting or feeling, or seeing it should be. It usually means an outside force is controlling it, so, they are probably throwing the fight.” She admitted to him and looked back. “Oh Ca....Oh!” Dark eyes went wide as Jerek started choking. And in that instant, her emotions became very present in the room, coating her completely. Panic, fear, worry. She stood close by to him, to offer aid if he needed it, when he coughed up the ice cream, the emotion of relief became very palpable. But as he shouted at her, those strong emotions took a different form. Shame, regret. “I....I'm so sorry. Just, y-you had bought it for me, and it was delicious, so I got a bit too excited. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm sorry.” Her voice was small as she spoke.

The sithling chewed on her lower lip, as a moment of self loathing passed over her. But, it didn't stay long. Instead, it stopped and became something else. Relief. He was okay, it didn't matter if he hated her. But she would still try. Allya reached down with a napkin and she cleaned up the ice cream from the ground. “I didn't mean for this to happen. I know you can feed yourself, I just got.... a little to into it. I hope you can forgive me.” When finished with the cleaning, she flashed him a small apologetic smile, and pulled out a deck of cards. “I had these from the trip. It was long, and my brother was annoying me, so I had us play a game instead.”

Setting the cards on the table, she smiled at Lori, and began to practice the meditative exercises again As she the emotional aura surrounding her dissipated. Her powers were clearly fueled by her emotions. However, they were not always beneficial, or sometimes it wasn't good to let them go to far, so she practiced the meditation as much as she could. Soon, she seemed to calm, and was back to her smiling self.

“So, what type of game should we all play?” Her head tilted to the side and her eyes return to Jerek. The girl flashed another brilliant smile, regardless of if he forgave her or not. She couldn't stay upset, it wouldn't solve anything. Fingers pushed back a strand of hair that continued to fall into her face. Eyes quickly were crosseyed and she shook her head at her hair. “Sheesh. Stay put.” Still shaking her head, she nearly lost her balance and began to fall backwards. "Gaaaah! Ahhhhh!" She flailed a bit before she managed to catch herself. With an oof, she pulled herself up to the table once more. "My father....he has some hilarious stories about gambling." Almost all of them ended with a child being made, but she left that part out.

Yea, yea, he has heard it all before but for some reason, he continued to do it and they were correct he had lost more than he had won and it was not worth it. In any case, he liked the rush when he did win it felt amazing to him since he was mostly poor and money came and went in small numbers. The Chiss turned when the commotion started the blonde kid had started choking, seems the Chiss was not the only one with bad luck today.

The girl sat down and starting wobbling around, the Chiss snickered using all his willpower to stay calm and not burst out laughing, everyone seemed down on luck around here. The Chiss finished his piece of cake, he walked to the right side of the counter and pulled up a chair for whatever card game came next.

Now seemed as good a time as any to turn his attention towards the bar and order a drink; Caedyn Arenais had never had an alcoholic drink before and he didn't really have much of a drive or an urge to want to do so up until this point, yet with so many unfamiliar faces and the conversation being mostly focused toward gambling, he figured one couldn't hurt. Choosing something decent and something that he'd like would prove to be a challenge however, simply out of inexperience in that area. His father often preferred to drink fine whiskeys, something rather more expensive than the common Corellian Ale, yet Caedyn didn't find any comfort in the idea of resembling Veiere on any level at all, even if only to share the same interest of preference in poisons.

"Can I get a....-Err" Caedyn paused as he read out the odd names they had listed under mixed drinks, "What's a Rodian Rumble?" he asked the bartender a little uncertainly, as if there might actually be part rodian within the drink. A thought that was quickly dismissed when he was told that it was basically a glass of Rum mixed with soda-pop. "Cool, yeah that sounds kinda weird. I'll have one of those" he confirmed with a grin, showing a bit more of his youth than he intended to.

[member="Loreena Arenais"] had mostly been stuffing her face with food, but between her and [member="Asaraa Vaashe"], Cae figured he sorta had to offer to buy them both a drink. It'd be kinda mean to just ask Asa and ignore his Sister after all. As much as he did enjoy teasing Lori, there was never a time where he went out of his way to hurt or be unfair to her. They were twins after all, connected by the Force and on a level of loyalty unlike most others.

"You guys wanna drink at all?".

The milkshake was pretty good, cool and rich, you could actually taste the ice creams they'd used to make it but...well if Caedyn was offering. The girl twisted around in her seat, her eyes flicking up to the list above the bar. There was no drink she recognised there but that was part off the fun of it wasn't it? Getting out, meeting new people, trying new things right? The girl's teeth sank into the soft flesh of her lower lip, chewing on the soft flesh as she considered the list. The question was just how adventurous she was feeling, wasn't it? Her blue eyes flicked towards the young sithling who was shuffling the cards between her hands, across to the boy next to her still recovering from his little ice cream mishap. Well, if they were going to be relaxing and unwinding here then well might as well go out. Asaraa's gaze flicked over towards the list, her eeyes inevitably drawn towards the most colourful, most eye-catching drink as she raised a hand to catch the server's attention. "I'll have a Selonian Sunrise."

The pink-haired Jedi let her gaze slip back towards the cards for a moment before she leaned closer to Caedyn, her elbow softly pressing into her boyfriend's side as she let a teasing grin dance across her lips. "So...you wouldn't be planning to get us drunk so you can win at cards would you now? How...devious, I would never have thought you'd go that far to win." The teasing smile morphed into a proper smile as she withdrew her elbow, leaning against Caedyn's side as she turned her attention over to Allya. "I don't think we want to get too complicated with the card games. Maybe something nice and simple, poker?" Back at the temple she'd grown up in card games in general had been frowned upon, the temptation seen as too much, however, the Antirian Rangers she'd found herself spending time with loved card games as a way to pass the time. Particularly on the long wait before missions it had proven to be a pleasant enough way to pass the time, though it would be nice to play with people a little closer to her age, and who, hopefully, hadn't spent decades learning the skills to beat her every round out of the gate.

[member="Caedyn Arenais"] | [member="Loreena Arenais"] | [member="Allya Vi'Dreya"] | [member="Jerek Zenduu"]

Lori finished off her meal, licking her fingers of every last morsel of salt and gravy. She then proceeded to wash it all down with her soda. A brow was raised as first [member="Caedyn Arenais"] ordered a drink of the adult kind, followed by [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] . The offer was put out there for her to pick out a drink too. And right away her thoughts went to the awful drink that [member="Kaine Australis"] had let her take a sip of once. It was called tihuur...or maybe triluur...something like that. It was probably best that she couldn't remember. It wasn't as though she'd volunteer to buy a bottle for herself. "Umm...no thanks. Someone's gotta stay sober and keep their wits about them, afterall.
Don't need you to get yourself into trouble and be too drunk to stay on your feet."
And with this lot, it was easy enough for him to get into trouble.

She pushed her empty plate aside. "I'll just watch. I don't know how to play any of those games." Growing up, if she wasn't with Cae, she was by herself, tinkering on traps and grasping the basics of mechanical engineering.

Her time spent with her mentor Jaster while in hyperspace was usually spent on self defence, and/or more mechanics. He wanted to be sure that she could fix whatever issues may come up with her training fighter, as well as her jetpack. So there wasn't much time for games.

Lori was so used to being among adults lately and in situations whee she didn't get to goof off at all, that it was a little hard to figure out how to act around others close to her age. How goofy was too goofy? Was everyone just going to continue pairing off and she'd be either a third wheel or just off by herself? More than likely it'd be the latter. And that should be okay. Someone would have to take charge if something bad happened to their parents. And it was looking more and more like Cae didn't want any part of that. So it would have to fall to her to look after everyone.

Such a thing could be terrifying. What if she sucked at it? Perhaps that was why she was given charge over a crew. All of it a test to see if she could handle being a leader. Lori wasn't so sure if she was ready.
