SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Various Firing Modes:
    • Flak Mode
      • Turbolaser rounds 'break apart' at set ranges, turning them into effective forms of high powered flak in the situation of starfighter squadron attacks. Effectively allows the ships regular capital guns to serve a secondary purpose - and do so well, though not necessarily as well as dedicated flak cannons.
    • Fire Linked
      • One shot after the other, even with a single barrel the 'Perses' can let out powerful barrages in quick succession to wear down ships, armor, and a variety of conventional targets. Especially good for situations where orbital bombardment is required due to its ability to cover large swaths of land quickly.
    • Super Heavy
      • Able to switch to a 'super heavy mode', the Turbolaser is able to fire extremely powerful, long range shots that last several seconds before ceasing. While able to penetrate shields and armor with impunity, the shot creates massive amounts of heat in the barrel and coils - forcing the turbolaser to cool down for up to a minute, and even longer in atmospheres where cooling is not as simple as space.
    • Anti-Shield
      • By charging each turbolaser shot with an ionized capacity, the 'Perses' is able to create rounds that damage shields significantly more than normal - but at the cost of reducing damage against armor while the mode is activated. Additionally, this prevents shields from 'throwing' the rounds back through feedback systems - exploding against them when feedback is recieved.
  • Adjustable Firing Arc
    • Just as the Supremacy, the 'Perses' is able to twist its shots mid air, effectively looking to circumvent doubled or directional shields - along with allowing the ability to fire around other ships, to a degree, or asteroid like objects.
STRENGTHS
  • The New Order -
    • Built to serve as the new 'standard' of Turbolasers, the TBL-4 serves a wide variety of purposes that others would not necessarily look to fill. While it is not necessarily better than more traditional weapons dedicated to any of the various modes, it is able to compete with most - and is on par or better than standard turbolasers of the era. This makes them an exceptional addition to the arsenal of any ship.
WEAKNESSES
  • Size and Weight -
    • Due to the exceptional size of even the ironically named 'light' turbolaser, the weapons can only be put on capital weapons. Singular versions could at times be found on corvettes, but all other ships that carry the turbolaser must be frigate or above; effectively restricting its use to large capital ships. While ground placements are also plausible, the infrastructure required for the turbolaser makes them unlikely to be deployed mid combat - rather needing full construction efforts to be effective, meaning their emplacement on hostile worlds is extremely unlikely.
DESCRIPTION

Comissioned by the Sith Eternal in 864ABY, partially goaded into doing so by Jaeger realizing they needed this exact product, the R&D team got to work on creating a new weapon for ship to ship combat. In essence, it didn't want to reinvent the wheel, but rather perfect it to repulsorlift we all know and love today. In doing this, Jaeger created the 'Perses', a phenom of its kind and praised by Ship Captains near and far.
Able to switch between various firing modes, the TBL-4 'Perses' Turbolaser can serve a wide variety of roles in the middle of combat. From psuedo flak cannon with reduced range in exchange for more coverage, to the super heavy variant that allows for single long term shots that can last several seconds - akin to a laser - before fading once more. These effectively create a capital ship weapon that can be easily put on any ship and allow it to serve multiple roles - from anti-capital, to even picket without the dedicated equipment often required of such vessels.
All said and done, the newest Turbolaser on the market far surpasses its peers with its wide variety of options and powerful backing. Jaeger, proud of its accomplishments, promptly enacted new internal regulations that forced the Turbolaser to serve as the standard for all ships to be produced from that date forward.
