STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

Strength:

-Persuasive nature. Using her feminine nature, Tayla can (sometimes) persuade others to do her bidding, particularly males of the human species, but not always, and not limited to just humans.

-Dancer. Tayla trained as a professional dancer on Ryloth's prestigious coryphee academy.

Weakness:
- Anger. In the past, Tayla has let her emotions get the best of her, and did something that landed her in quite a predicament. If she does not learn how to control her anger, it could lead down a hard path, or an untimely death. Whichever comes first.

- Physical brute force. With a slim build, Tayla would have to rely on using weapons in a fight instead of brute force.

APPEARANCE:
A green-skinned Twi'lek female with thick head-tails, or lekku, sprouting from the back of her head, adorned in black wrappings. Red eyes. Slim waist, thin lips, and cone-shaped ears covered by a black leather headpiece.

BIOGRAPHY:

Born on the planet Ryloth, Tayla grew up poor in a farming family. Her parents owned a rycrit farm located far from the nearest city. Tayla's parents were traditionalists in that they raised their children steeped in the Twi'lek religion and traditions. Largely due to this, Tayla developed an interest in traditional Twi'lek dance as a young girl, with its important place in her people's history. Recognizing that their daughter possessed more skill for dance than for raising rycrit, they brought her to the city of Kala'uun and had her audition for a dancing instructor.

The teacher, a female named Oosa, agreed to take Tayla on as her pupil. However, it would require great sacrifice, as Oosa had hopes to turn Tayla into one of the greatest dancers Ryloth had ever seen. Oosa demanded that Tayla would have to live with her for the remainder of her childhood, so that by the time she was an adolescent, she would gain entry into Ryloth's finest coryphee academy. Tayla's parents agreed to turn over their daughter, as was ancient Twi'lek tradition, in exchange for a sum.

Tayla spent a decade training under the teachings of Oosa and living with her. At the age of fourteen she first auditioned for Ryloth's dancing school, but was initially deemed too young. She tried again at fifteen, and again at sixteen, finally being deemed old enough at her third audition. From there she left Oosa's house to live and train more at the academy. Here she trained alongside other girls her age, where rivalries sometimes got the best of her and brought out her competitive nature. She performed in multiple theater and live opera shows on Ryloth and other Outer Rim worlds, recognized for her talent, beauty and grace. Even this small bit of notoriety in the dance world was intoxicating for her.

Deep inside, perhaps she longed for the approval of her parents, who had so easily given up their daughter for money. She talked with them from time to time, but had no desire to return to a life of farming. After all, she had been training to become something special for her whole life, and she was on the cusp of greatness.

At the age of twenty, beautiful and fresh, she was spotted in a show by Prince Sojeph Tanobi, the crown prince of Herdessa. Immediately taken with her, Prince Sojeph knew he must have her as his bride. Caught up in the sudden romance, Tayla practically swooned over the idea of being a princess, even though their romance was unorthodox, in that the prince was human and she was Twi'lek. The men of Sojeph's family had, of course, had romances with sentient races outside of their own, but had never been bold enough to marry them. It was a whirlwind romance, and soon Sojeph had asked Tayla to leave behind her life as a dancer, and become his bride on Herdessa. Tayla was stricken with grief over the choice. She was on the verge of becoming a recognized star among the history of Twi'lek dancers, and yet...it was every little girl's wildest dream to one day become a princess, a queen, was it not?

Sojeph further sweetened the deal. While visiting with her family back on Ryloth, he offered her parents a giant sum of credits for their daughter's hand, an amount that would take them away from their hard path of farming and set them up for the rest of their lives. Seeing her parent's faces, the struggle in their eyes, she immediately felt guilty for the privileged life she had led as a dancer, the way she had left them behind. Seeing what future could await their daughter, her parents urged her to accept the prince's love, as well. And so, it was partly out of guilt that she accepted Prince Sojeph's offer. Her parents were paid very well for her hand, and away she went with her new prince to Herdessa, leaving behind her path as a dancer.

Life as a princess was charming, of course, for Tayla. However, it was not without its restrictions. She disliked having to carry herself a certain way all the hours of the day, dressing a certain way, behaving a certain way. There was no escape from the eyes and opinions of others. No time, hardly even a minute, to ponder her own thoughts inside of her mind. In no time, she had completely lost her own identity as a person. She was no longer Tayla to anyone, not even herself. She was now, "the princess", "the wife", "Prince Sojeph's exotic new woman."

What was worse, she and Sojeph had nothing in common. She felt more and more like a thing he had collected, put on a shelf to collect dust. At some point, as the years passed, the distance between them grew. Within only six years, she began to suspect the prince was having an affair. It was here that Tayla's anger finally consumed her. Anger at her parents, for twice giving her away at the mention of money. Anger at herself, for giving up her own lucrative career as a prestigious coryphee. And, most of all, anger at the prince for fooling her into this sterile, emotionless life.

With the anger came her true devious nature. She hired two criminals to poison the prince at an elaborate gathering one evening at the palace. Something was slipped in his drink, and in six heartbeats the newly-crowned King Sojeph was dead. Initially there was no evidence to trace the killing back to Tayla or her accomplices, and she reveled in the mystery. It was quite the scandal, and suddenly with Sojeph's parents having died a few years ago, Tayla was now the inherent queen of Herdessa. However, her victory was short-lived. A couple of weeks after the death of Sojeph, one of his killers drunkenly bragged in a cantina about how the Twi'lek had paid him to do it. An investigation was launched. Tayla, now seen as the cruel alien widow, was quickly betrayed by the masses and arrested for the murder.

She had fallen from grace. Once an esteemed dancer from Ryloth, now an exiled queen, banished from a world of mostly humans, for having killed their human king.

Brought to a prison facility located outside of the orbit of Mon Gazza, Tayla has spent two years locked up, doomed to spend the rest of her life in a cell for her crime. As the years have passed, her anger has boiled within, waiting for the day to unleash in all its wrath. She feels a dark power boiling beneath the surface, one that somehow feels capable of many things. Perhaps capable of completely turning around her fortune in life.

But, to do that, she must first get out of prison.....
