- Average Weaponry: The Tau Imperial shuttle bolsters a decent enough armament for a transport shuttle, and can dish out hefty damage if it manages to land a blow. However, thanks to its lack of range and generally forward facing weapons, the Tau has to perfectly line up its shot to come even close to scoring an accurate hit.
- Moderate Defenses: The Tau's true strength lies in its ability to keep its occupants safe and secure even in the middle of a dogfight. Thick armor plating and powerful deflector shields allow the shuttle to shrug off plenty of hits.
- Lack of Versatility: The shuttle only has one purpose, and that is to transport noticeable officers and Sith of the New Sith Empire from point A to point B. It's not a gunship or anything of the like and is ultimately piss-poor in any sort of confrontation.
- Fighter Escort: Again owing to its non-combative nature, the Tau is never seen without some sort of fighter escort who protect the shuttle until it has reached its destination. Typically a fighter escort is between two to four SI-TIEs.
What is an Empire without an iconic shuttle to go along with it?
The Tau-class shuttle is but another cooperative project between the Imperial government at Bastion and the highly respected Santhe Corporation, the latter of whom had been an ardent supporter of the New Sith Empire since their rise on the galactic stage and the gradual decline of the Silver Jedi Order.
Tau shares a similar design to the ancient Lambda-class shuttles of the First Galactic Empire, with its folding trio of wings and interior aesthetic. However, that is where the similarities end. The shuttle's cockpit is larger and longer than the Lambda's, giving the entire ship a more elongated profile, and the shields and armor plating was enhanced to withstand greater damage than that of the ancient predecessor.
In conclusion, the Tau-class Imperial Shuttle provides officers and Sith alike with a sturdy, iconic vessel for casual and combative transportation across the galaxy.
