STRENGTHS

Said The Spider To the Fly: Instead of a conventional blaster bolt or slug, the Tangelfoot fires a superfine monofilament razor netting that envelopes an unlucky target and quickly moves to restrain their movements. The more the target struggles, the tighter the netting becomes, cutting and slicing into them until they learn the folly of resistance. It also facilitates the introduction of Ixetal Cilona into the bloodstream, damping force abilities and making them much more compliant.

Resisting Resistance: Each net has a rather fine cortosis weave to make it a viable against lightsabers, protecting it from errant slashes while it attempts to constrict their user.

Turn Down For Watt: A second trigger built into the fore-grip of the Tanglefoot triggers the electroshock function of any active netting in the immediate area, allowing the user to further subdue particularly rowdy subjects.

Stranded, But Not Lost: Once a target has been constrained, the microtransponder built into the netting automatically transmits its location to the relevant and predetermined parties, notifying them that a package is secured and ready for pick up.

WEAKNESSES

Putting The Lethal In Non-Lethal: While potentially considered negligible weakness depending on the user's personal preference, it goes without saying that while this is supposedly a non-lethal capture device, it has some pretty obvious lethality built in.

Not My Drug Of Choice: As mentioned above, the Ixetal Cilona lacing requires introduction into the victim’s bloodstream in order to take effect. Obviously this isn’t going to readily happen if they’re wearing a full suit of high quality armor. It is also designed to primarily work on human and near-human biology. Species with vast differences in biology, such as Vaathkree, Gutretee, etc, will similarly be immune.

Net Loss: The Cortosis weave is better versus indirect applications. Because of the inherently fine nature of the monofilament wires, the cortosis weave is even more susceptible to damage from lightsabers than one would normally expect.

DESCRIPTION

Don’t let that cutesy name fool you, the Tanglefoot means business. Unpleasant, low down, no good, dirty rotten business. But of course, you’d be fooling yourself if you thought there was really any other kind on Raykka.

Building on the premise of a humble net gun, the Tanglefoot fires an almost invisible netting of monofilament wires that can quickly wrap around the intended target, restraining them in a web of razor sharp strands. The basic concept behind them is that the more the subject struggles, the tighter they become. Due to the monofilament nature of these strands, resistance usually means a whole lot of bloodshed and pain for the victim, although the latter oddly seems to be dulled a few seconds later as the Ixetal Cilona starts to take effect. And in the even that even that falls short, the Tanglefoot rifle can trigger the net’s electroshock function.

It might be considered non-lethal in the strictest sense, but there are plenty of folks that have been on the receiving end that would be quick to disagree. Plenty more than would likely preferred if it offered the luxury of a quick death, too. Better that than what usually happens to those taken alive by the Makesh Cartel.
