| POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Kayl-Abba (lit. ‘Lonely Drink’): The last reach made by Kitonak nomads before their tranquil sands shift into the Wastes, recognizable by a solitary watering hole on the edge of the dunes that gives it its name. Kayl-Abba has become something of a small settlement with a revolving door population of travelers, hunters, and prospectors rolling through on their way into the red sands
  • Lord Shaaron’s Keep: The sand-swept carcass of an abandoned Imperial stronghold, jutting out from the dunes like a durasteel skeleton. Scavengers have long since picked it clean, but the Keep may yet hold unclaimed Imperial assets left behind by its late warlord
  • The Proving Grounds: Bone-strewn salt flats where reddish sands shift to reveal cracked plains. It is here that the brave and foolish convene to hunt beasts for sport. Ferocious reptiles stalk the Grounds in search of prey or a challenge, whichever they find first
| HISTORICAL INFORMATION

To the far west of the roving Kitonak’s ancestral lands lies a region that even the peaceful whistlers prefer to avoid: the Tamarind Wastes. How or why this caldera became almost vilified among the Kitonak is unknown, but evidence points to the scattered remains of an Imperial mining operation lost to the sands.

Fragments of data salvaged from sand-pitted terminals throughout the Wastes indicate a warlord by the name of Shaaron once claimed the caldera as his center of operations, which included strip mining for illustrious red coaxium and the apparent use of slave labor sourced from the nomadic natives. What finally brought about the end of Lord Shaaron’s dominion over the sector is a mystery, but his subjugation has left a lasting impression on the Kitonak, who refuse to travel any farther into the Wastes than their precious chidinka plants grow.

Note: I div’ed this bad boy on my cellphone, if it’s murder on the eyes, don’t worry, I fix later :3 ~ Patt
