Private Take Your Child to Work Day

At one of the tables in the far corner sat Euphera and the droid. Her break was ending and Aurelia would have to go back to work soon. The droid did a good job of making sure Euphera was taken care of and her medical needs met. However, it had only been a day after one of the child's intensive treatments and Aurelia wanted to be especially careful in the evenings when she was more prone to fits. The doctor had advised more blood for the baby part-sangnir to expedite the healing. Bringing her child to work wasn't the best option, but she didn't have many.

"My shift ends in 3 hours. Take care of her." She told the droid who removed the catheter from the crook of her arm, having collected enough of the sustenance for Euphera into its hold and began dispensing the viscous liquid through the connecting nasogastric tube. "Always." The droid replied. Her fingers brushed through the girl's light green hair before placing a kiss on the forehead. "Myona seiron okimasu, myra Xemeirna." The woman left back to tend to the tables and the guests.

Now and then, she had checked briefly on the two. There was nothing to worry about with Euphie under the care of MIU82 - a soft smile appeared on her face as the child took a nap in the biot's arms after a while before turning and getting back to the guests.

"Mommy?"

Valery looked at Aurra, who was trying to reach for her cup but found herself unable to. With a chuckle, Valery shifted it a little closer and then looked at both Adam and Aeryn as well. The triplets had joined her for this little trip away from home. A day out between Mother and some of her children to bond and see something new of the Galaxy.

"How is the juice, sweeties?" Valery smiled at all three of them but they didn't respond. With their cups carefully held in both hands, they were both too busy sipping from the fruit juice.

It was the cutest thing to a mother.

"I'll take that as a yes, but we also need some food, hm?" They all perked up at the mention of food and began to shift around in their seats a little.

"Snackies!" Aeryn said after swallowing her sip.

"Don't worry, we'll have plenty of snackies."

Kahlil snickered a bit as he held Eryx in his arms, calmly feeding the child with a bottle. He'd been very eager for food himself, likely a Noble trait at this point. Every one of their little ones wanted snackies. Except for Aris. Did that meant his was a part of Valery's lineage? He didn't say it, but they were in tune enough with each other that she likely knew just what he was thinking.

He wasn't hiding it through their bond, at least.

"So.. What are we here for?"

This hour of evening was usually when the tavern was at its busiest. Just as she was done delivering food to a table, the hologram device around her wrist buzzed and alerted her to new diners to attend to. The emerald-haired waitress approached table 42 which consisted of a large family with young kids including a very young baby. Both the parents seemed to be rough on the edges, strong and certainly not ones to mess with.

"I apologise for the wait. It's quite the platoon you've got here," The waitress said lightheartedly with a smile, her accent thick and foreign. "What snackies would the kids be having today? I'd recommend cushnips and breaded burra fish and chips - they're quite a favourite among younglings." With a few taps, she would take down their order on the holodevice on her arm. "And any drinks-" Her words were cut of when she felt a tug at her dress, looking down to see Euphera. The biot stood at a distance away on direct orders not to intervene with her on the job. "Myona, kaerite hjem ta?" The little horned girl, with pale ashen skin in a hue of sangria and light green hair pipped up softly. Her odd dark pink eyes, avoiding the gaze of the adults and children alike.

The young mother's demeanour shifted naturally, her stance becoming a little more defensive as Euphie hid sheepishly behind her. Some adults she met - and even other children could be quite judgemental and demeaning, picking at her daughter's uniqueness and even her disability. "Apologies, this is my daughter, the little rascal has managed to escape her nanny-bot."

Valery offered her husband a grateful smile for feeding Eryx here. Normally, she'd breastfeed their children when they're so little, but she much preferred not to in a public setting like this. Having the triplets hungry and needy was also more than enough of a battle to deal with, so it helped to have him cover the baby.

He looked so cute sipping from the bottle, too.

"Just to eat something before we're on our way again. The kids picked this place." The triplets were practically vibrating in their chairs at this point, especially when they saw someone walk over to take their orders. The woman's comment brought a smile to Valery's lips, and her suggestion was appreciated.

The triplets were nodding their approval, too.

"That sounds great, and for drinks, we'll take-" Valery paused as well when another appeared. A young kid, and she was adorable. Valery looked at her with quite a smile and leaned in closer, "Hello there," she said with a motherly voice before looking up at the waitress, "It's quite alright. We know what it's like." She smirked and looked at the triplets, who were all watching the young girl closely.

"Hewwo," Aurra said with a friendly smile.

"I'm Aeryn!" the young brunette called out to the new stranger who she needed to befriend.

Kahlil chuckled softly. Right, this was just another day for them to relax. His focus was on Eryx for the most part, but as the waitress approached, as the child approached, he blinked and glanced over. He was quiet, just watching the interaction. It was hard to ignore the fact the child was gifted in the Force, though. He smiled softly to her, to her mother.

They certainly did understand children going where they wanted to.

"There's certainly nothing to apologize for."

Such a positive reaction to her daughter's peculiarity wasn't the usual - she appreciated it and responded with a shallow nod and an accompanying smile. A hand pressed against the girl's back, nudging her forward slightly. There wasn't often when she interacted with children her age. "I- I'm Euphewa," The girl said, cheeks flushing abashedly and a small sheepish smile revealed the small protruding fangs. The child's features were in stark contrast to her own, save for the green hair. With that and the tube connected through her nose delivering crimson liquid down would hint to what she was - a thing that most parents would want to keep their own children away from.

Despite trying to appear amicable in front of the customers, there was a look of concern on her visage. And she wasn't going to take the risk with her daughter's feelings in the line. "Euphie, myona is working, I'll be with you in less than an hour, okay?"

"Cookie?" Aeryn didn't pick up on any awkwardness or shy behavior from either the girl or the parents around her, and extended a cookie towards the young girl. Mom had given her a small pack with a few cookies, so why not share it? She liked making friends and everybody loves cookies, right?

Valery just smiled and looked between the girl and her mother, before speaking with that soft, motherly voice of hers, "It's very nice to meet you, and you have such a pretty name. It fits a pretty girl like you." She chuckled and glances at her husband for a moment.

Maybe the girl would like to make friends with the triplets?

"If she feels comfortable with it, she could stay and play with our kids here while you work. Just for a little bit." Maybe that way, she wouldn't escape the babysitter again.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"Of course, if that's also something you're okay with." They were ultimately strangers at the woman's place of work. It wasn't just the girl who had to feel comfortable. Still, the triplets at least seemed excited about the idea. He smiled, chuckled as he lifted a glass of water to sip at before again checking on little Eryx to ensure he was feeding comfortably himself.

"We don't mind either way."

Euphera looked up at her in a wordless question for permission to take the cookie, although Aurelia could see how badly she wanted it. Aurelia gave her a nod, and Euphera excitedly took the cookie. "What should you say?" Aurelia prompted.

"Sizanryo." The child said as she nibbled the cookie. "It means thank you - in Xonish." Not many would have heard of the language or let alone the planet. There were very few Xonari that escaped out into the galaxy.

The lady spoke to Euphera, with her voice gentle, seemingly unbothered by the child's peculiarities. It wasn't a reaction she was used to which was a bombardment of questions or an immediate scorn. The Father was also as understanding as the Mother. Aurelia would never want to take such a rare opportunity away from Euphie. "Do you want to sit here and wait for Myona?" She asked, to which Euphie nodded excitedly.

"Thank you, I really appreciate that. And what drinks were you having, again?" She resumed where she was interrupted moments ago, finally completing logging down their orders.

"If you don't mind me asking, you guys aren't from Qena are you?" Perhaps kind as unique looking as Euphie were common where they were from - it would explain why they were so unfazed - that and the fact they were parents of an entire horde.

The triplets very much welcomed the young girl at the table, especially after the cookie was accepted. They didn't look at someone and felt different over appearances - they just saw a possible new friend and were eager to have her join them.

Only Aurra, the blonde with blue eyes, seemed a little shy about someone she didn't know at the table. Not that she was against it, but she kept quiet and stayed a little bit closer to her Mom.

"I saw some fruit juices on the menu. I don't recognize them all, but we'd love to try a few." She glanced at the kids, and they all seemed to agree. "I'll take one for your daughter as well. If she likes something to eat, we'll pay for it." Valery wasn't going to have a young kid at their table watching them all enjoy a meal and some juice.

She'd also get the same thing.

"We're not from here, no." Valery smiled and looked at Kahlil. "But we were hoping to learn more and enjoy some family time, hm?" She asked her husband with a chuckle.

Kahlil_Div2.png

"If you're comfortable with that."

The life of a spacer had shown him a different sort of life. Single mothers. Fathers. He knew a lot of different types of people from that, and just offering to pay for a meal could come across in a negative light. They were ultimately strangers. The last thing he wanted to do was make it seem like they were looking down on her situation.

"The triplets seem to enjoy her company, though, so she's very welcome."

"Of course, that is very generous of you."

It was the kindest thing, every now and then a gift presented itself.

"The Jellyfruit Tropical juice smoothie Euphie's favourite, the Joganfruit and Ghibli juice are a close seconds, how many glasses would you like?" She asked. Keeping tabs of what various customers ordered while she never really tried most herself either - she had no idea what the flavour profiles consisted of. Nevertheless, she put down a dish she knew Euphie wouldn't be too picky about on the order.

"Euphie doesn't usually get along well with other kids, " She admitted. it wasn't hard to discern the reason for that.

"We'll take Euphie's favorite, and one glass for all of us. Well, except for little Eryx." She chuckled and wiggled her fingers playfully at the baby in his father's arms. He chirped a few happy little noises back at his Mom and Valery just smiled warmly again.

In terms of food, she went with a similar idea. The kids could try something that their new friend enjoyed. A good bonding experience, Valery figured. It helped that the Nobles could eat just about anything without complaining.

They loved their snackies.

"Well, our little ones are very easy to be around. They love making friends." Valery chuckled and glanced down as Adam shifted closer to Euphie. The little silver-haired triplet looked at Euphie, then smiled and showed off his toy.

It was an action figure on a speeder bike. He loved playing his imaginary races with it.

"Love, you don't mind if we stay a bit longer, right?" Valery asked him with a smile. "Maybe we can even see more of this world."
