Take What We Want, Take What We Need

Lao suspected that Aedan was expecting this day since the beginning. Since the first engagement. Lao had gathered his men and mercs for raid on a First Order planet of Phu. The planet stood alone in its own Hex, so Lao suspected that any and all reinforcements could take a bit, but that there would be reinforcements. Not that he was hedging his bets on this but the more delay, the better. He knew there would people of FO to kill, and that was what he wanted. There was more on this and for this than it being a simple 'raid'. And that is what he was gunning for. He had notified his superior of this engagement and was cleared for it.

Lao wondered what would become of him, but it didn't matter to him. He would continue to push forward his ideals and work for his clan, Akaata, and nothing else. He was here for war, and to fight. Everything else was second at this point in time. His mind went to Lady Kay and her group. He wondered if he would ever see her again. The small amount of solace he found in the Galaxy was with her. And he suspected that he would never get it back. But he could not cry. It was against his code, and no way he could been seen doing that. He could not show weakness. Not now, not ever. Even in death. He was here to hold the line for his clan, for Mandalore, for his men, and for his ancestors. For them all. He had made promises he was going to keep. Even beyond death if needed, if called he would show and help his line continue. He knew only the front lines, since he was a teen, there was only forward....until dawn.

He had fought on many fronts with many different groups, but here was different. He had chosen this and not told to be there. This was his line, his front. And he knew his nature was that of a wild dog that had learned how to fight with the best. And now he was leading them on his line, on his front.

Lao stood aboard the Rusur Akaan'ade. And surveyed his fleet as they were going through Hyperspace. A Mandalorian working comms relayed a message to him,

"Why are we Jumping close to this planet, Phu."

"That's the point. To take by surprise, and after this they will know we are here. Please relay, once we exit hyperspace to lit up all FO ships and start the landing process for our troops on the Kyr'am Cabur and the Patrol Ships. Relay to the Patrol ships to provide air support planet side, while the Kyr'am Cabur returns to the Rusur to provide support. And expect FO ships to jump in. Fire and engage them when they get here. Hold nothing back, they won't."

Lao turned and started walking towards the ships docking by for the Patrol Ships. He was going to lead this engagement. No need to expect his troops to do something he wasn't going to do himself. He and bulk of the forces would land at the Main Garrison on Phu and take it out, and then head to the other Garrisons on the Planet. This wasn't a take and hold mission, this wasn't an invasion, this was a raid. Lao was wearing his full weapon layout with his lightsaber and Sith Killer rounds in his submission gun, and his armor were the Sasori Armored Robes in the colors of his clan, Akaata. He remember the Vitae Alliance when was loading up his weapons. He would always remember them. He stood out from the rest of the Heavy Troopers with the Shock Troopers being on the Patrol Ships (200 in total). When he got to the docking bay he went aboard the lead Patrol Ship and from there he would send out his message to the troops.

"We are here to show the FO the might of our Mandalorian clan. We are here to Raid this planet. Expect Resistance. They will be well armored and got great equipment. But we are better, we are Mandalorians. Our clan head is watching over us. I expect glory and honor to be found on the battle field. I expect us to be successful. Anything less is not worth it. For our Ancestors, For Akaata, For Mandalore."

Lao felt the bump as they left hyperspace and entered real space. It was then sent over comms to Lao that they had exited hyperspace and in low orbit over Phu. Lao sent back a comm to them,

"Time to fight. You know your orders. I expect them to be completed."

It was then that the Patrol ships started leaving their docking areas. Lao turned to this men when as they left the docking area with him and nodding of approval of his men. Once the Patrol Ships left the docks on the Rusur, Lao could see the Mandalorie ships lighting up as they fired on the various FO defenses. He smiled, it had started.

Patrol Fleet Fencer, Phu Sector
Officer in Command: Commander Rankins
XO: Lieutenant Commander Saren

"Adjust Heading to Zero-Six-Zero. Continue Patrol Pattern Zerek." A curt 'Aye Aye, Sir' followed the Lieutenant Commander's order. For a few hours, the bridge was his as Commander Rankins took respite in the comfort of his quarters. An anomaly amidst the almost exclusively human crew, Lt. Commander Saren's pale blue flesh contrasted abruptly with the standard Navy gray. Saren's striking red irises peered out into the void from his place at the front of the command deck, polished and pristine just like the man's uniform. It was his first assignment as XO, a step up from his previous posting on a Corvette, not unlike the Vigilance-class which escorted the sister ships.

The Phu system was far from the most exciting assignment, though there was a fair amount of space traffic. As it had been in the past so it remained, a heavily invested gambling world. *It is fortunate for these cretins that gambling isn't outlawed within First Order borders* he mused idly. It was true, gambling was not on the list of prohibited activities on First Order worlds - though there was a hefty percentage which found its way into the pockets of the government. Almost so much so that it became more profitable to encourage gambling. Saren himself wasn't one for gambling, more keen on allowing logic and probabilities than that of 'luck'. "Open a channel to the Cleaver. Prepare all stations for return for resupply." Another affirmative response followed by a quick 'Channel Open, Sir'.

Saren nodded, his voice carrying across the comm to the FIV Y. "This is Lieutenant Commander Saren of the FIV Excalibur. Patrol Fleet Fencer has reached its intended turn around point. Prepare to return to Phu for resupply. Jump timer commencing. Set for five minutes. Mark." On cue, a holographic display began counting down, in less than five the vessels of the Patrol Fleet would be jumping back to Phu. Six weeks they'd been out, complex patrol patterns shared with other small patrol fleets in the sector - finally it was their turn to return. Shore leave, resupply, and a brief respite from the endless patrols was a welcome thought to the young officer. Officer School had been grueling but this constant patrol rotation had been an entirely different kind of exhausting. Overwhelming, it wasn't but it would be nice to kick back for a day and get away from the 12 on 12 off schedule.

As he was about to turn on his heel, a sharp chirp sent his eyes narrowing mid-stride. "Sir, we're getting an alarm from Phu Sector Control. Hostiles in system, nothing more." *Hells.* The Lieutenant Commander's easy shift had gone from zero to lightspeed in the matter of a second. His response came just as quickly. "Sound General Quarters. Get the Cleaver on the horn, and wake the Commander immediately." No doubt there were other fleets that would receive the communication however a quick glance at the holographic star map revealed that Patrol Fleet Fencer was one of the closest. As the sneer widened across Saren's features, a gentle chirp in his ear told him the line to the Cleaver was live. "Lieutenant Commander Saren to the FIV Cleaver. Hostile presence noted in the Phu System. Prepare for immediate jump to hyperspace on my coordinates. Set the clock at thirty seconds. Mark."

Until the Commander arrived on the bridge, this was his bridge, and he'd be damned if he balked while under the gun. No, Saren would lead them into battle, even if it was only for the first charge. "Get me sensor scans, I want an analysis before we drop out of hyperspace." Another round of 'Aye Aye, Sir's' followed his orders, dutiful junior officers bustling in the command trenches as Saren strode to the rear of the bridge. In only a few minutes times, they would be joining the fray in whatever form it took. Until then, he would study the sensor readings and prepare for the battle to be joined.

Moments before reversion...

"Reversion in thirty seconds." Saren called out over the ship wide intercom. Commander Rankins had arrived only a minute earlier, the wide eyed Ensign having spent a full two minutes nervously pacing outside the Commander's quarters before mustering up the courage to page. It was two minutes Saren didn't have to bring Commander Rankins up to speed. Even so, he managed to do so in record time. Initial scans had revealed at least two cruiser sized vessels bearing no known configurations. The weapons batteries had been prepared, the corvettes organized into defensive positions around each of the First Order's own Marauder-class Cruisers. Moments before revision, additional data suggested the hostile vessels had arrived in low orbit before opening fire on anything and everything. A final alarm sounded before the two vessels and their escorts dropped from hyperspace. In a matter of seconds, their weapons would be tracking targets and firing.

Phu, Surface and Orbit
Local Defense Forces
On the surface, all was in pandemonium. Local security forces had managed to man the defensive batteries, and some of the system's local defense frigates had moved to engage but they were ill equipped for the savagery of the initial barrage. Even as they fought to react to the sudden assault, two of their frigates had been brought low, evacuation alarms sounding and escape pods jettisoned towards the surface. Any others remaining were in disarray.

The alarm had been sounded, an all call from Phu to any First Order fleets in the sector. Until then, they needed to stay alive.

The Kyr'am Cabur had deployed its squadron of fighters with the priority of any defensive fleet that could cause problems. The Rusur Akaan'ade was also on it is way down plant side to drop off its troops.

Lao was on the lead Patrol Ship. He would have it no other way. He had to lead his troops from the front and by example. No way to lead other wise for him. He could see out the window that there was still some chaos in the defense force. Lao smiled his plans had worked this far, but he was still expecting a Fleet from the FO. They did not know that he was planning on burning the planet. All of it. A Scorched Earth policy was his default, but the FO did not know that and Lao was expecting a minimal response from them for the first response. He was expecting the buearcy be slow and not to really expect the force that was coming. This force of 200 Mandalorian shock troopers with another full corps of Mandalorians, 50k Mandalorians in which he was at the helm for a planet that Lao knew didn't have the defenses to stop.

Only a few knew the next stop after this on his campaign across the FO space and that was the planet of YN, and he would make his path to Terminus across FO space. And there would nothing they could do to stop him. Only his clan head could stop this wild dog in the FO play pin. Until them. There was nothing. He would continue forward, until dawn on the next planet.

If there was a time for any of the Mercs that he had hired, Lao knew that any moment would be good time for them to show up. Before the "blockade" by the FO.

Lao felt the bump as the patrol ship hit the atmosphere. Lao smiled, they were getting closer and he could feel the adrenaline dump. The heart beats, the breathing increased, and the general feel of excitement. It was then that Lao saw him. A single defensive force soldier on the of the highest buildings. It looked like he was carrying a twig of some sort from this distance but Lao knew better. It was a RPG. Lao shouted over the comms. Was it too late?

Argos was inside patrol ship with Lao, staying quiet during to whole thing. The main reason was he technically wasn't supposed to be in that ship. Right now, he was basically a pile of sand. Trying to stay hidden. But then he saw it, a missile of some kind being launched. He saw it through the ships hull, and quickly slipped himself over to an airlock, quickly opening both doors of the system and allowed his sandy structure to be pulled out as a simple sand cloud. The cloud stealthily directed itself to the defensive force soldier. He landed behind the man, forming a pile of sand before reforming into his humanoid form. With that, his right hand became a blade and he quickly stabbed the man. Once that was finished, he picked up the man's comms, switching the channel until he found the patrol craft's comms unit.

"One taken down. Just don't ask how I made it here already." His voice was nearly monotone, like all Lervon in general sounded, but hopefully this Lao guy would now who he was.

Lao noted that one of the mercs he had hired had shown up, with his quick and easy taken down of one of the Defense force members. Lao comm linked him and said,

"I'll meet you at the secondary objective. I'll send you the place, its another Garrison but smaller. If you want, take out the comms there."

The Planet Phu's defenses were clearly out matched and the assault by clan Akaata was clearly going to overwhelm them. That is what Lao was expecting. To overwhelm them and then set the planet on fire. His 5 Patrol ships were landing in front of the main FO Garrison of the planet. He was here for fun. He was here for his Clan. He knew the plan, the 200 Mandalorian Shock Troopers would lead the assault followed closely by 50k other troops. This Garrison would never see such an assault before.

Could they hold it? Not for long. They were set against an enemy that was more experienced with better arms and weapons, and clearly looked forward to dying in combat. Lao was prepared, the adrenaline had already hit and he wanted to fight. He wanted this battle and too win. He knew the plan was already set that once the 50k had departed, that ship would return orbit and help out while the 5 patrol ships would provide for air support.

And then they hit the ground in front of the Garrison. It was now, fuck never. He spoke over the comms to his men,

"Personal shields up. Lets do this, For clan Akaata!"

Then the docking door dropped and they charged into hell.

"Another one for the Empire!" The gunner called from his post, watching as another gunship was blown to smithereens. The Mandalorian herd had been thinned by the First Order's strength, and in particular the Rapture-Class A-A Batteries. Konstantin gave an appreciative nod to the man, as he continued patrolling the fortifications. It was already clear what the play was. The Colonel was accustomed to these sorts of raids, from his time in the One Sith. Little bands of pirates and smugglers would try and take what wasn't theirs. There wasn't any difference. Only this time, he could already feel it was larger than anything they'd faced. Still, missiles poured into the sky, rapidly finding targets, and scrapping them back to earth.

"Landings commencing in sectors four and seven sir!" A lookout buzzed over comms. Good. Konstantin mused. Already, he could see the armoured pool of vehicles massing to counter the push. Stormtroopers, and auxiliaries, armed with DE-39 Maser Rifles began to scale the battlements, and pillboxes, forming into firing teams. Makarev now made his way to a nearby loading platform, and ascended into his AT-SIW, taking his helm, and tuning it into comms. "Estimated landers sir, at least forty thousand combatants, by our estimates." It wasn't amazing odds they were up against. But this was the might of a First Order garrison, they were Sieger Ren's soldiers. Protectors of the people and the sword of imperial justice and law. They weren't some push overs. They were professional soldiers, through and through. And if these barbarians thought they'd break their might, then Gods damn them all. "First wave deploying!"

"Commence fire!" Kosntantin growled into his comms unit, "And make sure our Special Forces are in place. I want to make mince meat of these quivering scum." He pulled down the periscope, "Commence fire!" He barked. And with that, the ravenous roar of solar ionization cannons as they launched toward the Mandalorian scourge. Followed by volley after volley of precise Maser Bolts, aimed to cut dow
n, and melt the Mandalorians where they stood.

Saren could feel the full power of the Marauder-class Cruiser as it began searching for targets and began firing. They'd entered the system low, but well within a safe range - according to the holographic readout the attacking ships had gambled aggressively, coming in much lower. Now between the First Order Recon fleet and the planetary defenses. At this range the Excalibur and Cleaver's weapons would be minimally effective - they also had to be sure not to fire in arcs that would compromise the surface. "Get us along their horizontal axis - I want clear firing lanes. Launch fighters and try to patch into the surface defense network. I need to know what we're working with." Commander Rankins ordered. Saren's crimson irises consumed the data being displayed rapidly, considering each and every readout as he began to assess their situation.

Saren noted the small strike force - surely this wasn't all they sought to bring? They had the advantage of surprise, certainly. It was that which had allowed them to make a strong first blow but even now Saren could feel the sway of battle in turmoil. They may have held advantage but that could always change. The winds of battle were fickle, the mistress of combat vain. "Channel established sir, you're live." Saren's eyes flicked to an adjacent display, identifying the element on the ground. *Makarev... why does that name sound familiar.* He couldn't place it, but before he could ponder further Commander Rankins had begun transmitting. :: Colonel Makarev, this is Commander Rankins of the First Order Patrol Fleet Fencer, FIV Excalibur. I need a sitrep and deployment recommendations. Tell us where it hurts Colonel. ::

Kyli reaches above helmeted head with one hand rising upto their feet and stowing the Type-99 rifle above one of the Banshee's passenger seats, shouldering the shorter albeit more wieldy G-12A Rifle, the Pilot shocked relented for a moment suspecting correctly that the Chief in his hold had planned something truly 'Crazy' as the Death Troopers were rather infamous for performing death-defying feats with admirable, inspiring flippancy.

[member="Konstantin Makarev"] OOC: I was expecting resistance, and that's fine.

Lao stepped out into hell with a Force Wave aimed towards the first line of FO troops. He saw one of his drop ships had been shot down and had crashed probably into a near by building only to come to rest a number of meters behind the one he had landed on. He suspected casualties but that would be expected, but not like he could ask the FO troops to please stop firing. Not on this battle field. After throwing out the first few Force Waves at enemy troops. Lao found cover behind a landspeeder that was basically trashed that could be used for cover. Here he set a quick message to rally on his position and to attack the garrison, but expect resistance. He was expecting some resistance fighters and he knew they had a lack of air support, currently.

Once the Rusur Akaan'ade had deployed its troops, which shouldn't be much longer it would return to low orbit next to the Kyr'am Cabur. But it was still a sitting duck even though it did have some fire power, some. The second wave, of Blood Fleet Oni was what he was expecting soon. Hopefully they would come some time soon, he hoped that they weren't held up by others.....the Kyr'am Cabur could hold off, for now.....The tide was slowly turning on the space front as both sides were firing off shots. This side was holding nothing back at the FO ships. They rained hell, and continued to fire with precision.

It was here where the fight was and now Lao was expected both of himself and of his men to lead. It was expected to only target Uniform combatants of the FO. All others were civies and were not to be targeted. Yes, they had standards, some thing that Lao was going to uphold. It was now his time to lead from the front and for him to take the lead. His hands went first for his submachine gun that was already loaded with .38 specials. He had just a few clips of those and Sith Killer Rounds, just in case (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/53664-sith-killer-round/ ). He was at least prepared for other Force Users, he was always expecting those since he was one. And so quickly got to his feet and let loose one last Force Wave at the enemy troops and then put his lil monster submachine gun to his shoulder and let it loose at the first avaible FO troops he could as he walked down the street towards the Main Garrison. His men, Mandalorian shock troopers, following behind him and his lead probably around 150 left he suspected with the rest of his troops behind him but probably delayed.

(Sorry for the late reply. Busy IRL)

The sand-like being simply said, "Affirmative. Going dark." He then destroyed the entire comm unit before bounding down to the ground. He shifted his body to appear to be clothed before simply walking towards the smaller garrison. It wasn't to hard to find, and he already knew he could sneak in. The Lervon shifted his form to a sandy snake, scaling a building near the garrison to scope it out. He made note of any entrances he could take advantage of. Ventilation was the key thing. The Force around him showed his happiness at seeing a nice little ventilation shaft, and he quickly sneaked over to the entry way, using his abilities to slip into the vents.

Once in the vents, he began to hunt for the comms center.

OOC: Kinda waiting to see if anyone else wanted to post.

The Main Garrison was a walled fortress with two entrances, one in the back which was smaller and the main one, which was obviously larger. Lao was charging down the street at the main one. Various FO soldiers had already taken to various fire teams, battlements, and pillboxes. Lao heard another two Patrol crafts called out mayday as it crashed a few blocks west of him. It was then that the first initial blast of the solar ionization cannons when off, and Mandos went down. Most of the first wave was knocked asunder, and easily many were either serious hurt or killed. The blast from one of them had thrown Lao into the back of a landspeeder filled with various construction equipment.

He was dazed from the blast as he saw the first strafing run was able to serious taken down a number of Mandalorians in the second wave. It was now the first and second waves were scattered and taken heavy losses and casualties. Lao took a moment to come to as he found his weapons that were scattered around him. In that moment Lao felt his emotions rise. And he gave in. He knew he was giving into the Dark Side. And it felt good. He gathered his weapons, his shot gun, his sub machine gun and his lightsaber. He was pissed now. He climbed out of the land speeder cursing in Iridonian, his native tongue at the FO. His anger was rising, and it felt good, no lie. Lao looked around and there was a cafe of sorts in front of him that had cleared out. He set a rally point for the cafe for anyone that was still game for a fight. It could be used for cover along with the various landspeeders and other vehicles on the street. His men were skilled in Urban war so this would be helpful as both as a rally point and for place for the wounded to get some help. Lao walked up to door and kicked it and at the first table he put down his shot gun. It was weighing him down and he would need the light weight. Lao put down the two med packs that he had. His men would need this, he had Force that would help him out. And he came here prepared for a fight, and not a cup of coffee or shot of rum. A number of his men were bringing injuried and themselves in.

He walked out. And over comms he told his men of the rally point and to get there and find him on the front. Lao then realized that most of his helmet and visor were destroyed. He took that off, it was more of a hindrance now than anything else. His long black curly flowing hair could be seen. He took a moment and gathered the Force and his hate as he tied up his hair. He had hate now. And that is what would keep him alive.

The Kyr'am Cabur was taking serious damage from the FO fleet. They were holding but for now even though the shields were thoroughly battered. They were losing star fighter superiority with only a few squadrons available. The question was for how long? There was an answer. Perhaps not what some wanted, but there was a response. The response was simple, it was the standard for the Blood Oni Fleet. They dropped in from hyperspace behind the FO Fleet and immediately let lose any weapons and fighters they had. And they had plenty of fighters in the 32 squadrons that were made ready and were deploying. They knew their orders, to engage and destroy the FO with everything. The Rusur Akaan'ade was just finished its full troop deployment and was finally leaving to rejoin the Kyr'am in the low orbit around Phu. Within minutes at max, they could very well have star fighter superiority. Lao's comms chirped that they had entered Phu space and had started the initial orders. Lao knew those wouldn't survive long and at best initial contact with the enemy.
