TECHNICAL INFORMATION

  • Method of Consumption: Can be consumed orally or inhaled, with most applications only requiring a single use to begin the process, but continued hits will enhance one's experience and accelerate the process.
  • Average Life: Indefinitely after the first hit, unless treated properly. Once taken, the spice crystals will start to root and grow in the subject's body, slowly forming a twisted symbiosis with the host. The more one does, the faster this process goes.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Due to the tampering with the energy spiders by the Order of Shadows, the Creeping Lignan, when consumed by an individual, starts to create a parasitic bond with the consumer. Slowly at first, and only noticeable as a gradual paling of the skin and reddish-black veins, the crystals will take root and grow within a host. Eventually, larger crystals will start to emerge from the subject's skin as a twisted form of symbiosis forms. Eventually, the crystals will overgrow the subject's body, creating a rough crystalline armor until the final stage when the crystals completely overtake the host and they become unable to move and form a new source of the Creeping Lignan.
  • A consumer with a connection to the Force can draw upon the power of the Creeping Lignan crystals in their body, greatly enhancing their strength and reflexes, gifting them with a greatly increased tolerance for pain, and a heightened connection to the dark side of the Force. However, this does accelerate the growth process of the crystals unless carefully done.
Strengths:
  • Greatly enhances a user's strength, easily three times that of a Wookiee
  • Greatly enhances a user's reflexes, placing them on par with a Knight-level Force User
  • Greatly enhances a user's tolerance to pain
  • Greatly enhances a Force Sensitive's connection to the dark side of the Force, the crystals forming an extra energy supply to draw upon
  • Once sufficiently grown, the crystals can form a rough armor for the user
Weaknesses:
  • Once a few days have passed after consumption, there is no way to reverse the process and stop the growth of the crystals. If caught in the early stages, they can be cleansed from a body through the use of bacta and Force Healing. After roughly 96 hours, however, the only way to hinder the growth of the crystals is with the user communing with them through the Force, and even that only slows them. A non-Force User has no chance of doing this.
  • While they greatly enhance a user's strength, reflexes, and tolerance for pain, they also can degenerate a user's mind. Paranoia and possessiveness are the two most common mental side effects, but after a certain point, users can be reduced to a feral state where users will break small chunks of the crystal off and try to force others to consume it.
  • While they enhance one's connection to the dark side of the Force, and act as a potent reserve of energy to draw upon, doing so will accelerate the growth of the crystals. Growth that might take weeks or months to occur will happen within days, if not hours.
  • Once the crystal overgrows the body to a sufficient degree, the user becomes completely immobile, rendered into a giant chunk of Creeping Lignan that can be harvested for further distribution and testing
DESCRIPTION

A shadowy project begun by researchers of the Order of Shadows, Creeping Lignan is an insidious new substance. First created in a recently established base on Kessel, the Order of Shadows began their experiments by introducing strands of Lignan crystals and Yaladai spice into the bodies of Anothian Living Crystals, forcibly changing their crystalline structure until the entire creature was a living example of a Lignan crystal.

Once a subject had been sufficiently created, they introduced the subject into the path of Kessel's native energy spiders for consumption. When consumed, the energy spider would be subject to a parasitic symbiosis with the Anothian Living Crystal as the crystal creature began adapting the glitterstim spice within the bodies of the spiders into more of the newly dubbed Creeping Lignan. The new creation was harvested from the energy spiders, and tests began on captured subjects from the Sith Empire's recent campaigns.

Subjects reported enhanced strength and reflexes, along with a greatly enhanced tolerance for pain. The Order of Shadows researchers did note some psychological side effects, but they were well within acceptable practices to continue observing the experiments. Captured Force Sensitives reported feeling the dark side flowing through them, an incredible rush of power at their fingertips. Several subjects even demonstrated this by using the power of the Creeping Lignan to sustain powerful arcs of Force Lightning and other applications of the Force.

However, it quickly became clear what the costs were.

The crystals emerged from the test subject's skin, slowly growing over their bodies. Those who had been recklessly drawing on the power only accelerated their transformation into crystal covered abominations, slowly losing their minds to a voice in their heads. Two researchers were forced into quarantine when one agitated subject forced them to consume a crystal they had snapped off their body, the test subject screaming they needed to know the power and hear the voice.

Eventually, all test subjects became encased in a crystalline armor, and days later, rendered inert. All that remained was a silhouette of their body within the still pillars of reddish-black crystal. The Lady of Secrets immediately greenlit more tests when she received reports from the facility.

[*]Due to the alterations done to the Guardian Spirits in the creation of the Dikuh, the swords and body parts that create its limbs that surround the Sithspawn are possessed by the spirits. This allows the Dikuh, the master of the enslaved spirits, to control parts of its body as individual extensions to attack from a distance and each weapon and body part almost has its own sentience, being able to attack and defend in the name of their master on their own. If part of its body or a weapon is damaged or destroyed, it will endeavor to replace it by carving or smithing a replacement from materials around it immediately.
[*]The Dikuh, due to its body being made of alchemically treated rock, is nearly impervious to damage from slugthrowers, blasters, lightsabers, and other handheld weapons or kinetic force.
[*]Due to its B'rknaa origins, the Dikuh is resistant to Force abilities used against it, making it difficult to attack with the Force except for the strongest techniques of the Force known by either side.
[*]As a curiosity to its creator, the Dikuh will occasionally offer a challenge or game to an opponent. If they fail the challenge, the victim will be attacked with a massive application of Force Fear.
Weaknesses:
  • If subjected to a ysalamiri void bubble or void stone, the Dikuh will lose its connection to the Force and any control of its own parts until they are outside of the circumference.
  • If the stone and metal that consist of the torso are broken open, through the use of higher powered weapons or explosives, the exposed crystal clusters that is the true body of the creature will be exposed, and unlike its body, the crystal is very easy to damage.
  • Applications of Force Light can weaken the creature, but like all Project Aura Sithspawn, it can take more such attacks than other lesser Sithspawn.
  • Acid is an incredibly effective weapon against the creature, easily being able to eat away at its body and leaving it vulnerable.
  • Curiously, during the games it offers its opponents, if the Dikuh's opponent wins, it will heal them of their wounds with Dark Transfer and allow them a few moments to collect themselves before re-engaging in battle.
CULTURE

  • Communication: It does not physically speak, but can speak and understand Galactic Basic and High Sith through telepathy
  • Technology level: Sticking to its B'rknaa heritage, and like many Project Aura Sithspawn, the Dikuh eschews using Galactic Standard technologies.
  • Religion/Beliefs: Like other Project Aura Sithspawn, the Dikuh worships the Sith Lords and Ladies as its dark gods. However, unlike others, it believes its mission is to strengthen itself to be the perfect blade for their will by defeating opponents in combat and absorbing their blood into the rock that consists of its body. By doing so, the Dikuh believes that it grows a closer connection to the dark side and becomes increasingly invulnerable and dangerous to enemies.
  • General behavior: The Dikuh, unlike other Project Aura Sithspawn that are sadistic killers, has rooted its personality around a code of honor, twisted as it may be. In combat, the Dikuh is a fierce combatant, utilizing its unique body to fight in various ways, distances, and angles to overwhelm what opponent it fights. It also favors creating Force Wraiths as additional obstacles and tests its enemies have to engage against. However, during the fight, the Dikuh will offer its an opponent a chance to play a game it devises based upon their engagement and environment. If they win, the Dikuh will heal their opponent to full fitness again and give them some moments to collect themselves, but if they lose, it will unleash a massive fear attack on their mind. Outside of combat, the Dikuh can be ponderous and overly careful, keeping to itself for the most part.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

As the second to last of the creatures she planned to create in Project Aura, Taeli decided on a completely different approach to the next Sithspawn. Inspired by the work she had done on the statues at the academy under construction on Ziost, the Lady of Secrets sought to create a construct of sorts using a silicon-based lifeform known as a B'rknaa and several of the parasitic Guardian Spirits that normally possess the corpses of those they encounter.

Acquiring the B'rknaa specimen from one of the few colonies that had developed after the Yuuzhan Vong attack on Kalarba, and after attracting several Guardian Spirits to be trapped by her Sith magic, the Lady of Secrets began working her dark ways upon the specimens. Using Sith magic and alchemy, she first created a bond between the crystal cluster of the B'rknaa and the Guardian Spirits before proceeding to alter the spirits to possess Sith swords that were deliberately forged for the occasion. Additional spirits were forced into the forming body being created for the new monster.

The new body, created through alchemically treated rock and metal, was created for the B'rknaa and then it was subjected to the altering powers of the Project Aura bonding rituals. The crystal cluster and the spirit possessed weapons were merged into a semi-hive mind of sorts, with the original persona of the B'rknaa becoming the dominant will and enslaving the spirits to itself, while also incorporating bits and pieces of their minds and personalities. The new persona created by the fusion came to call itself the Dikuh iw Asminys, the Golem of Blades.

Unlike the ones found on the monstrous Sithspawn, the Tziyatsa's not only drains the life energy from the victim trapped in the shell but also slowly dissolves the body into the Tziyatsa's food.
[*]The armor that covers the Tziyatsa's body is highly resistant to most weapons, including lightsabers.
[*]Adapted from the Selkath base subject, the Tziyatsa's left arm has retractable claws that exude a paralytic venom.
[*]Due to its Selkath and other aquatic-like species origins, the Tziyatsa can breathe both underwater and on land by making use of a secondary respiratory system.

  • If subjected to a ysalamiri void bubble or void stone, the Tziyatsa loses its connection to the Force and, more importantly, loses the ability to move on land as it relies upon its command of telekinesis to float.

  • While the armor covering the Tziyatsa is very strong, higher caliber weapons can break through it and injure the creature.
  • If the blister pod within its shell is damaged, it will immediately lose all its strength, its armor will lose its integrity, and it will become incredibly vulnerable.

It believes that every victim that it consumes within its blister pod, besides providing it nourishment, also transfers part of their energy and knowledge to the most powerful of those that command the dark side.
  • General behavior: Hunger is the most dominating pursuit that the Tziyatsa chases, everything it does is dictated by that need to feed. In that regard, the creature has an obsessive personality and once it has selected a prey, it won't stop until it has consumed it, whether that be an individual or a city... or a planet's worth of people.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

It had been a long time coming, but the Lady of Secrets had finally arrived at the final Sithspawn she intended to create for Project Aura. For the final project, she decided to revisit an older concept of the dark side, one that an ancient Sith Lord had taken to an extreme: Consumption. To that end, she sought out the perfect candidate to form the base subject for the transformation and found one in a young Selkath named Bilor Namska.

Bilor was a former Sith acolyte that had abandoned the Sith academy on Korriban to seek ancient knowledge, claiming that he would become greater than any of the Sith in his recruitment class. Bilor had stumbled upon a manuscript detailing the assault on the world of Katarr by the ancient Lord of Hunger and desired that power for himself, believing he could usurp and take the throne himself. Traveling to Katarr, he did not find the answers he sought... but he did find the Lady of Secrets and several of her agents waiting for him.

Bilor was offered a choice: he could either die for abandoning the academy or come with Taeli to Amaltanna and be subjected to the ritual and gain the power he sought. The young Selkath believed it was a no choice at all and was brought to the ritual room, little knowing he was soon to be merged with a Tarc and Sauvax through Sith alchemy. As the transformation took place, the Lady of Secrets gave the Selkath the knowledge and power he had desired, just perhaps not in the way he wanted.

What emerged was a monster that was dubbed the Tziyatsa iw Sami, the Gravity of Sin.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Born on the jungle world of Onderon in the continent-spanning city of Iziz, Remalis Nokoma knew nothing but poverty and adversity growing up. His parents lived in the rundown slums of the city, his father drowning his misery and what little funds his mother made at the rundown laundry in the bottle. This harsh life influenced Remalis' world view even at this young age, hardening his heart and invoking a belief that strength and violence were the only ways to escape the squalor.

The day before his ninth birthday, his father, in a drunken rage, killed Remalis' mother and sold his son into servitude to a small time blacksmith for the money to buy another bottle to drown his guilt in. Remalis swore revenge on his father, but his servitude to the blacksmith revealed his innate talent for working metal. The smith, recognizing that talent, decided to teach the young boy everything he knew. As the years passed, Remalis developed into a skilled smith, far better than his master, and used that skill to barter with the master smith the chance to study engineering, expenses paid. Remalis took to the studies quickly, and with his knowledge base growing, he became a highly sought after artificer in the city of Iziz. When he turned twenty, he arranged the incident that claimed his master's life and took back his freedom and the shop his master owned.

However, fate had other plans for the newly emancipated smith as galactic forces were starting to stir. New powers were rising in the galaxy, their agents looking for individuals, businesses, and worlds that might ally with them. Remalis was approached by an agent of the Sith Empire emerging in the Outer Rim, a Sith Knight that recognized the dormant Force potential of the artificer. He was offered the chance to learn the ways of the dark side, tempted by the Sith's description of arcane artifacts and constructs of the ancient Sith, powerful and dangerous weapons. Remalis agreed and left Onderon for Korriban, becoming a Sith acolyte in 828 ABY.

His time at the Sith academy shaped his nascent cruelty and abilities, his thirst for knowledge on Sith alchemy never being sated as he sought ways to create such powerful devices as those that existed in the stories and vaults of the Sith. However, his studies suffered a reversal when the Sith Empire fell, the dark forces scattering to the winds. Unlike some, Remalis did not join the secretive exodus into the Deep Core, but returned to Iziz. There, he found nothing of his old shop as a major galactic corporation had purchased the surrounding area and developed it into state of the art factories.

Starting anew, Remalis used what he had learned to forge and experiment with alchemical devices, subtly dispersing them into the back alleys and slums to desperate souls. One of those desperate souls was his own father, now a slave to the son he had sold so many decades ago. His plan was to use the followers he gained, enhanced by his devices, to overthrow the government of Iziz and create a new monarchy based on the old Naddist beliefs. However, his plans were discovered by the Republic and local authorities. The assault, by Jedi and Republic soldiers, decimated the nascent Sith's forces before he could even launch his first attack, and Remalis suffered grievous injuries. The only bright spot to the slowly dying man was his father had died in the assault as well, killed by the Jedi.

Missing his right arm, and having suffered horrific wounds to his chest and internal organs, it was likely Remalis would have died if not for the intervention of hidden One Sith agents that secreted him away to their stronghold on Coruscant. There, he received life-saving cybernetics that replaced his right arm and much of his upper body. Recovering, Remalis came to the attention of a younger and more powerful and quickly rising Sith: Darth Arcanix.

Taeli Raaf recruited the artificer into her circle, finishing his training in the dark arts of Sith alchemy. Using that knowledge, Remalis fashioned himself some artifacts to replace his cybernetics, integrating the Sith devices into his body, strengthening himself and his connection to the dark side. With the resources of Darth Arcanix behind him, Remalis became her premier artificer, even after Taeli began her mission to infiltrate the Jedi. A Paradox Adept within the Order of Shadows, Remalis now wields enormous influence and can pursue any project he desires, and constantly works on the Sith devices that are part of himself in a bid to grow even stronger and seeking a perfect balance between metal and flesh.

Strengths:

  • The small nodules that consist of the supplementary circulatory system of the Vejovis Treatment also act as small reservoirs/production centers for synthetic bacta and adrenaline that can be released directly into the body's bloodstream if the subject experiences trauma. The result is the subject can rapidly heal from wounds suffered or temporarily enhance their physical strength and endurance for a short time.
Weaknesses:
  • While the small heart-like nodules can release adrenaline and synthetic bacta, it takes time to replenish the supply once it is used up. Subjects, once they use up their supply, need to consume a great deal of nutrients and specially prepared ration bars made of xoorzi fungus. Additionally, the treatment cannot prevent death from mortal wounds nor can it cause regeneration of limbs on its own.
  • Subjects of the Vejovis Treatment have an increased risk of cardiovascular issues or developing polycythemia due to the increased red blood cell count within their bodies, especially in the early stages of the treatment when the body is still adjusting.
DESCRIPTION

The project that gave birth to the Vejovis Enhancement Treatment was originally a subdivision of Taeli Raaf's Project TITAN, an effort to develop bleeding edge cybernetics and bio-enhancements for use in warfare. However, it was decided by the Lady of Secrets to spin the project off into two separate projects, TITAN would remain as the cybernetic effort while Spaarti Creations would helm the new Project OPHION to handle development of bio-enhancement and genetic treatments.

In consultation with the Lady of Secrets, Ce Perlo, the Kaminoian geneticist that was in charge of Spaarti Creations' operations, tasked her scientists with work on the first part of the project. It was determined that focusing on modifying and supplementing the circulatory system of a subject would be beneficial first and foremost, but Taeli and Ce wanted to do more. They had discovered records of the use of a cybernetic second "heart" by an old criminal organization known as the Guavian Death Gang to help their soldiers by releasing chemicals, and these records captured their imaginations. Would it be possible to develop an organic version of this reservoir, but also improve blood flow and red blood cell counts?

The answer Ce developed was based on the Atoan unique physiology of having several "hearts" spread throughout their body. By using genetic sequences from Atoan volunteers, and combining those sequences with a subject's DNA, they could use genetic treatments to induce the growth of smaller nodules within the body that could act as a supplement to the body's primary heart. Ce and her geneticists also introduced strains of Vratix DNA and adrenal gland tissues to allow the nodules, once they were fully developed, to produce the necessary bacteria and fluids for bacta and adrenaline creation.

As a final step of the treatment, as the nodules grow, Spaarti scientists oversee their integration into the body's existing systems, easing any complications as best they can, and making sure that the nodules release their reservoirs of bacta and adrenaline only if the body experiences sufficient trauma or stress. The treatment, and the subjects it was tested on, were accepted by Taeli as the rejection rates were well within expected parameters and the benefits far outweighed the cons. With the creation of the Vejovis Enhancement Treatment, Spaarti Creations was prepared to push Project OPHION towards the hidden goal for the Lady of Secrets...
