Ta'ek Viss's Enhanced Field Generator

Intent:
Personal Shield Generator owned and modified by Ta'ek Viss.

Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/38549-dev-thread-the-exiles-carapace-taek-visss-personal-armor/?p=565360#entry565360
Development Thread:

Manufacturer: Unmarked

Model: Unique Original, customized beyond recognition.

Affiliation: None

Modularity: Limited to one's mechanical proficiency.

Production: Unique

Material: Durasteel

Description:

+ Can generate at any given time a personal ray shield or personal EMP shield.

- However, only one field can be used at a time, and there is a short reset cool-down of about 15 seconds between switching field types or deactivation, and it will not dampen actual Also, the ray shield it generates is better at stopping energy- and plasma-based attacks, kinetic energy such as a knife, sword, or axe may still penetrate. Also while it may deflect a few shots initial bolts from a bowcaster, repeated fire may weaken the field enough to allow the metal bolts encased within the energy to pass through.

Description:
A personal stealth field generator that Ta'ek Viss acquired in the employ of the Hutts on Nar Shadaa.
Ta'ek modified it himself to remove the stealth, retro-fitting other mechanical parts to form an EMP field to protect against Electrical attacks, and also small Ray Shield Generator to defend against various small arms Energy and Plasma attacks. These fields can not be used simultaneously. This device now serve to protect against blasters, lightsabers, or arc casters and certain force powers.

Alright, I've noticed you've made a few threads that use restricted materials, so I feel it is obligatory for me to explain that we have a list of restricted and banned items on this board. Restricted items have objectives that must be met, some with alternative measures, in order to be considered in possession of them for factory purposes. Personal stealth cloaking devices fall under such a list, and because you have included one such material in your submission I will have to request a development thread for it, though I will allow the material to be removed if you don't feel up to making such a thread. Also, remember that one thread per submission, so you cannot use the same development thread twice.

Now, with that out of the way, I'll post my little bit about what can be changed to avoid development threads, if you don't want to do them.
Approval Without Development Threads
  • Remove the personal cloaking device (stealth field).
  • Choose between the EMP shielding or the Blaster shielding.
Approval With Development Threads
  • Include a development thread for the stealth device as outlined in the banned & restricted items page.
  • Include a prototype or testing thread (10 posts) for the inclusion of different shielding types.

So where do I post a development thread? I can do the requirements for the Stealth device, but where would I do the ten about the research of the shielding types? If it helps, I'm on the mobile version, the full version of the site is much harder to use on my phone lol

Yeah, I know how painful it is to use a phone for this - it's why I couldn't do anything at work as far as posting and such, I only got to read over these.

Just go to the Open Role-Playing board, post a new topic with the Development prefix (may be DEV), and then do the ten posts for your research in there. All you really need to do is make up a scenario where your character is doing the testing and accomplish 10 quality posts. Or you can post it in the private board, but it really doesn't make a difference.

I also need one for the stealth field, if you plan to include that. If not, please remove the stealth field from the description. (Also, please edit your submission to include that link, as it needs to be in the submission.)

I also need you to modify your submission to follow the basic technology template.
Image Source: (Please link to where you found the image, or to the original artist if possible. TinEye or Google Image Search can help.)
Intent: (Example: 'A personal weapon for Darth Scabious' or 'an advanced armored personnel carrier for the Republic')
Development Thread: (The main way people work for their toys, though most submissions don't require a development thread. Restricted items require specific development threads. Substantial development threads can help judges approve more powerful submissions. If in doubt, put 'If necessary,' and a judge may or may not ask you for one. Threads cited here must be at least 10 quality posts.)
Manufacturer: (Kuat Drive Yards, BlasTech Industries, [Character Name], etc.)
Model: (Example: E-11 Blaster Rifle. For submissions where a model wouldn't be appropriate, such as a custom walking stick, put 'N/A' for 'Not Applicable'.)
Affiliation: (Example: The E-11 Blaster Rifle was produced for the Galactic Empire and used almost exclusively by Imperial Stormtroopers. Do not put the company unless the product is only for your company's use. Common choices include 'Open market' or the name of a specific faction.)
Modularity: (Can components of this submission be swapped out for other components? Is it especially easy to modify? For most submissions, put 'No'.)
Production: (The scale is Unique, Semi-Unique, Limited, Minor, Mass-Produced. More powerful submissions are more likely to be approved the fewer of them there are. There are no numbers associated with these.)
Material: (What is it made out of? Certain materials are more resistant, or vulnerable, to certain weapons. Example: 'Durasteel, blaster components.')
Description: (Include some strengths and weaknesses here. Describe some of the history behind the submission. Give us some idea of how it might perform its function, what it excels against and what some limitations of it are. This is where you talk about your idea, flesh it out over at least a good-sized paragraph, and address some of the ways it might be used or abused. For especially powerful or ambitious submissions, a very thorough description is recommended.)
