SPECIAL FEATURES

TranLang III Communications Module
EB-S Droid Brain

Strengths:

Advanced Programming: Thanks to the EB-S droid brain it utilizes, the TS-P differs from its TS-C origins in its dual Class 1 and Class 4 programming, focusing on mathematics in its Class 1 side in order to plan and execute complex aerial maneuvers based on all known variables depending on the ship it’s piloting. This includes anything from single-pilot fighter craft to large freighters and warships, but is of much more use in corvette and smaller sized craft.

Weaknesses:

Limited Non-Pilot Use: The TS-P is, by nature of its programming, also a battle droid, however outside of a cockpit or command bridge it isn’t very good at much else. It comes equipped with a blaster pistol and can utilize other weaponry but lacks protective armor and dedicated blaster combat programming. It can shoot, but not accurately, and even weak blaster bolts can cause significant damage to the unit in addition to the natural droid weaknesses to EMP and ion attacks.

DESCRIPTION

With droids making up the majority of their military workforce, EODD began production on a series of pilot droids based on their TS-C general crew droids. Intended for use piloting their smaller craft such as corvettes and frigates, as well as starfighters (for which they earned the nickname “Flyboys” during development), these droids were created to fill a gap between a dedicated organic pilot and the TS-C droid, the programming of which was determined to be lacking when it came to the finer points of combat piloting compared to operating a much larger ship.

Utilizing the EB-S droid brain these shortcomings were addressed and rectified, as setting the secondary programming to the Class 1 mathematical programming allowed for the droid to determine maneuvers based on hundreds of thousands of rapidly-processed calculations. Its primary Class 4 battle droid programming gives it the combat skills and reflexes necessary to carry these out when behind the sticks of a starfighter or other craft. Despite the Class 4 programming, however, it operates poorly as a battle droid on its own without a craft to fly, lacking in accuracy with a blaster and armor, and can be easily picked off by enemies if crash landed or caught out.
