Objective: Turn the padawan into one of his own

"How you doing little guy? you seem to have gone quiet?" Maro said with a sinister chuckle to the padawan, who looked to the opposite side of the table to his motionless bloodied master. The boy was shell shocked and afraid to the bone of what he saw, body shaking in fear of the brutality Maro had given his master only moments before. It wasn't meant to go like this, now he and his master were going to die because of their ignorance. They had both come to check the ship and save any survivors from the distressed ship, but all they found was a long table and dead bodies sitting idly in their seats. Before they could even fathom what this was, Maro had already got the jump and injected them with the special shut down drug.

His special concoction was something of his own design. Once injected into someone's body, it would instantly begin shutting down vital functions. They would not die and be entirely useless, but enough for Maro to take advantage of their state. Enough doses would affect the brain, and once it reached that level victims would become more receptive to anything said to them. When the first dose was given to the Jedi, they put up a good fight at first. But fighting a swordsman and focusing on the force was a tough ask for both, and they soon fell and strapped into one of the few spare seats he had left.

"It truly is a shame what happened to your Master, he lacked the table manners only an infant would love." he said with a growl as he came behind the Padawan and put two hands on his shoulders "You on the other hand have potential to become a great guest at my table. Many others who have come before have failed, yet I feel you will finally be the one" he smirked from ear to ear as he looked at his former visitors. There was a mixture of Sith and Jedi alike, even a pile of dead alliance troopers lay in the corner from an attempted disruption of his table meeting.

"You don't want to become like them do you?" he said as he reached over to the table and grabbed hold of the needle "N-no" the kid replied with a shaky voice, his eyes glaring at the needle in fear "Good... that's a good start. Now, I'm going to give you something that will help alright? sit still, you will only feel the same pinch like before" he grinned as his spare hand pulled up his sleeve to reveal more of his arm.

Slowly but surely the sharp end of the needle got closer to the vein...

It wasn't often that Valery found herself back inside the cockpit of her modified Stealth-X, a ship she had originally gotten to travel around the Galaxy whilst avoiding conflict. But later, it had been her primary ship while she worked as a Jedi Shadow. The latter was the reason that she was using it again today — a Master and Padawan sent to investigate a derelict ship had not checked back in, and Valery felt something was off about the whole situation.

The Galaxy was full of derelict ships, and it was rarely a dangerous mission for a pair of Jedi to investigate one. Something darker was at play here, she could feel it as a tremor in the Force. So to avoid her own complications before even arriving, she decided to use her stealthy ship and approached the vessel through hyperspace.

"Once we arrive, check for life signs, R5," Valery spoke through the isolated internal comms. Her droid bleeped back a response and readied itself for their arrival.

The fighter finally came out of hyperspace and as instructed, R5 sent the scan results to Valery's display,
"Hm, at least two life signs. The Master and Padawan?" Valery thought about it and frowned, "I feel something is wrong, so let's check it out. Plot me a course to a docking port not too close to these signals, but not too far away either."

It was a vague instruction but R5 followed it anyway, and helped Valery navigate her way to the derelict vessel. The black hull of her ship made it very difficult to see against the background of space, and she hoped her other systems were able to fool any scans, if they were being used.

Finally, she arrived at the docking port and slowly made contact, hoping it would make sure nobody was alarmed too early. The ship attached itself and after the canopy opened, Valery jumped outside with her gear ready. Now it was time for her to follow her senses and move deeper into the ship.

"Very good..." he sat with a few pats on his back, withdrawing the third dosage away from the padawan's arm. The kid sat there motionless, eyes wide and emotionally dead from the serum making haste through his body "I know it's hard to move right now, but it will all be worth it in the end. Trust me" Maro said with a toothy grin, showing off the sharp teeth that he used as a weapon of agony. Ruffling his hair for a few seconds he finally moved away and strolled to his seat at the table where a light was flashing.

Maro grinned from ear to ear when he looked at the security feed. A ship had just pulled into one of three docking bays, a Stealth X to be exact. It was annoying the scans did not pick up the new visitor approaching, either way, he'd be ready for when they finally arrived. Glaring at the woman jump out from her ship, he could tell from the way she presented herself and walked she was a Jedi. Hmph... why couldn't it of been another Sith? they were always fun to mess with. Nonetheless, she did look like a fine edition to his table.

"It appears another one of your Jedi compatriots has come to visit!" he said in an upbeat tone before jumping out of his seat and prancing to the padawan once more "Do you remember what we had discussed for our next guest?" Maro asked the boy, tilting his head as the kid continued to be emotionless "Y-es..." the padawan replied blankly, a tear slowly rolling down his eye.

The deranged Sith laughed menacingly as he extended his arm out and flung the bloodied body of his master to the floor in front of the table. His body lay idle and disfigured, a product of Maro's torture he did in front of the padawan's eyes "Now go... mourn your master's death like a true Jedi" he grunted. With a weak nod, the kid fell to his knees and exhaustedly crawled to the body, a small whimper escaping his lips before a full on cry of pure sorrow.

In the meantime, Maro saw great pleasure in this and backed away into the darkness of the room, shrouding his presence in the force until the Jedi had finally come to be the knight in shining armor.

Just like they always did...

"Hmm..."

In the middle of the hallway leading up to where she felt the Padawan, and especially his pain and despair, Valery stopped and looked around. There was the awful feeling that something sinister was lurking from the shadows, and she felt her approach being threatened by it. If they knew when she'd arrive, they would have a hostage to use against her as well, so it was time for the Jedi Master to tap into her training as a Jedi Shadow again.

Within an instant, she suddenly and completely disappeared from sight, and even sound detection or thermal cameras could no longer detect her. It was as if the woman had teleported herself out of the ship, but in reality, she was cloaked, and still moving closer to her objective. The pain she felt from the Padawan grew stronger with each step, but she also felt a dark joy from the same area.

It was difficult to pinpoint who it came from, and what their presence in the Force was like. But to cause such tremendous suffering to a young Jedi required a sick mind. But eventually, Valery arrived in the hallway that held the door into the room with the Padawan. His presence bounced against her mind, and for a moment, she focused on it with her calming aura. He'd know that Valery was coming, but nobody would know just how close she was.

Now it was time to make her entrance.

Time ticked by in the darkness of the room, the cries of the boy still being heard loud and clear as he held onto the robes of his fallen master in complete disarray. Now that the person he looked up to was out of the question, the feeble padawan was sure to be easy pickings. Maro had long awaited a padawan to stop by his little hideaway, now he had the opportunity to recruit yet another important member to his table. Many of the others who were present had long expired their use, Sith and Jedi bodies alike sat at the same table for eternity

Maro couldn't seem to contain his excitement for the next guest. Not only was it another Jedi, but one that would be a fine addition to his collection. She was a beautiful specimen and one he simply could not pass up. The formula had worked effectively on the other force users that had come before her, one or two injections would surely do the trick as long as he didn't give her a chance to force it out of her system in the early stages. It was made to wear down a body as soon as it was injected, tiring them until it was torture within itself to move. Even if she did eventually get it out of her blood, she'd be too weak to fight on.

By now, she must have been close by... what was taking so long?!

"Come on! just show yourself already!" He mentally said to himself impatiently. There was no way she couldn't have gotten lost, hmph! something was wrong. Feeling the syringes inside his jacket pockets he scowled from how he was being made to wait.

Even so, when it was all said and done it was going to be well worth the wait.

With slow and careful steps, Valery walked up to the doors that were meant to keep her out or alert those inside the room of her arrival. But she figured it to be unlikely that they were expecting a Jedi Shadow, and one trained in a varied skillset to infiltrate just about any place. So rather than actually opening the doors or breaking them down, she turned her focus to the Force.

The moment her body made contact, she phased through the metal and stepped out on the other side, still hidden within her Cloak. Nothing had changed, no sound had been made but her eyes were able to shift to the Padawan in despair, as well as the figure hiding in the dark. Again, she moved slowly, but this time to position herself between the Padawan and whoever was lurking from the Shadows.

She couldn't allow him to reach the Padawan.

"You've made quite the mistake torturing these Jedi," Valery said as she suddenly appeared inside the room, and the violet blade of her lightsaber ignited to cast light across her body and face. Now, her presence in the Force became noticeable, and she held nothing back when it came to showing her intentions.

She was here to end him.

Just as he was about to hit the limits of his patience, his wish was finally granted by the sudden appearance of the Jedi. Maro seemed startled at first that the woman could see him, but after a few moments, a wide toothy smirk spread across his face from how defiant she sounded. He'd see how long that lasted once he had her trapped in his web.

"Oh have I now? you Jedi have no right to tell me that" he said with a sinister chuckle as he finally stepped out of the darkness with his red saber drawn, mad eyes glaring into hers with intent "I'm impressed you managed to see me through such darkness, Jedi. I presume it is your eyes that allow to things others cannot?" the man said with a tilt of his head before finally stopping and igniting the lightsaber that he clenched tightly "It really would be a shame if something happened to them wouldn't it? after all, you will be suffering the same fate as your fellow Jedi and Sith that sit at my table as permanent guests"

Maro twirled his weapon playfully as he looked at the crying padawan. The boy had noticed the Jedi's appearance and leaned up from his master's body, glaring at Valery Noble Valery Noble with wide pleading eyes "P-please... help me..." he gasped to her in fear, one that was returned with an annoyed growl from the man.

"Hold your tongue!" he grunted to the padawan, unsure as to if his formulae were truly working or not. Snapping his wicked gaze to the woman again he slowly began to get closer "Maybe I'll have to prove a point to him by breaking your will slowly, only then will you and the boy know that your situation is truly hopeless!"

Suddenly, Maro burst forward with speed and made the first move. He slung his lightsaber forwards and struck against Valery with a number of quick and precise blows, a smile spread across his lips throughout the entirety.

Valery didn't verbally answer his question, but the way she looked at him made it clear that her eyes had indeed allowed her to see him. Not the way one normally would though — she had seen the infrared light from his body heat hiding away in the dark. It made him stand out against the darkness, and that's what she focused on.

But with the ignition of his crimson blade, that was no longer needed.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Valery said before she briefly glanced at the Padawan, who practically was begging for help at this point. It caused the woman's brows to furrow, and the fire within her to ignite. She looked back at the Sith, drew in a deep breath, and distanced her mind from anything that could distract her.

She was focused, and in tune with the Force.

"You're not breaking anybody anymore," Valery said while her eyes narrowed. The Force always flowed specifically dark around those about to kill, and she could feel it in him. Then, with a flash, he closed the distance and aimed a series of strikes against her, but she met them with equal speed and expertise. With the Force as her ally, she could predict, react and counter.

Having drawn the duel into a brief blade lock, Valery finally made her move — she pushed back and extended her left hand, hoping to send the man flying against the wall in the back of the room, so she could follow up and hopefully end this quickly.

Maro's strikes were swift, fuelled by pure hatred and lust for terror. All through it he never took his eyes away from her fiery gaze, adamant on adding another body to his collection like the rest. This Jedi on the other hand would be one of his most prized trophies, not only did she feel powerful but physically from the look of her form. This was going to be his finest recruitment yet!

"What you going to do about that, Jedi?" he spat at her in the saber lock, his body pushing hard against hers to try and gain the upper hand. Snapping his eyes down, he felt Valery push him back and extend her arm out to force him into the wall with speed. Growling, Maro only had a split second to prepare before he flew backward in the air. Leaning his body back the Sith managed to control his body and backflip back down to his feet just before he reached the wall. He needed to be careful of those tricks...

Flashing an arrogant grin at the Jedi, he extended his arm out to one of the empty chairs and flung it to her with a grunt. Using the moment, he rushed back at the Jedi and flung another in her direction just before he reached her to cause a distraction. Snapping his body in a quick rotation, his leg came around and swung towards Valery's midsection with a powerful spinning kick to push her back.

With her telekinetic attack connecting, Valery blasted Maro back but it wasn't quite enough to stun him completely or smash him against the ground. He recovered fairly quickly as a result and threw the first chair towards her. In response, Valery augmented herself and bashed through it with a powerful punch.

Then another came.

Again, she destroyed it but this time with a shoulder bash. The only problem was that it left her open just long enough for the Sith to move in, and his kick connected with her midsection. It sent a shock of pain through her body, but she was a trained duelist and pushed herself through without losing her balance completely.

The Jedi Master moved back in and aimed a series of quick strikes at the Sith, all meant to draw him into defensive counters. But after the last of her sequence, she augmented her leg and used her Bakuuni Hand skills to send an almost bone-crushing low kick to his dominant leg. If it wasn't going to snap him in half, she hoped to at least bring him down or make him lose his balance.

Chair after chair was wasted for the Jedi's strength, all for one moment he needed to strike. Swinging his leg with powerful intent, it collided with her well crafted body with a thump. It knocked her back, but not enough to send her completely off balance. Her body was one of perfection, only made by training that had no ounce of slack. He needed to do to something more unorthodox if he wished to truly get a chance to hurt her

Raising his lightsaber up with a confident smirk he was soon sent on the defensive by the Jedi, who slammed a series of swift strikes against his blood red lightsaber. His beady eyes caught sight of her leg moving forwards to slam a bone cracking strike to cripple him, one that he had no time to fully evade. Grunting in preparation for the pain that was about to shoot through his leg, he braced and turned it to a point that would connect more with his thigh than bone.

"ARGH!" the Sith shouted in annoyance as the force sent him falling back first to the floor. It hurt like hell, to say the least, and who knew what would have happened if the strike hit fully. Maro slowly began to crawl backward, his lightsaber still firmly in his hand as he shot a look at the shell shocked padawan. Did the woman truly care for who she was saving? well, that was soon to be put to the test!

Raising his hand with no warning, he suddenly took hold of the table cloth with the force and suddenly tugged it in the direction of the padawan. Plates and cutlery were flung at the boy kneeling down, eyes wide and blank from what was coming towards him. In the hopes she'd turn her attention to save the kid, his hand raised up to suddenly shoot purple lightning from his fingertips into her body.

"How much are you willing to sacrifice to save those in need Jedi!"

Her kick had connected and sent the Sith down to the ground.

Now he was crawling on his back with his weapon still in his hand, but he wasn't in a position to set the pace of this clash anymore. So Valery approached slowly, her saberstaff drawn, and her intent visible in her eyes. She wasn't going to disarm him and take him captive — she was going to purge his darkness from this Galaxy once and for all.

But before she could reach him and finish it, he turned to the Force and Valery felt immediate danger. Not for her own life, but for that of the Padawan, who hadn't even moved an inch from where he had been when she entered. He was in shock, so she couldn't trust him to defend himself at all.

So without any hesitation, she jumped between him and the Sith and turned her hands to the Padawan to catch the incoming items with the Force. She knew how risky it was, and so she wasn't surprised when a stream of lightning struck her from behind.
"Ahhh!" she screamed out in agony as the electricity passed through her body.

She could feel her skin boiling, her strength draining and her life was going to be at risk if this continued for much longer. So despite the intense pain, she used the Force as her ally once more, allowing a bubble to form around her skin that siphoned in the harmful energy and allowed it to replenish some of her own to neutralize the attack. It was a difficult form of Tutaminis, but one she had learned to keep herself shielded against such attacks.

With her body burned and in severe pain, she then suddenly turned around and used all that energy to launch a powerful telekinetic wave against him. Not like the earlier attack that she had used to send him into the wall, but one to deal a lot more damage to him.

"You... coward..." she said through gritted teeth, as the fire in her eyes ignited, and the temperature in the room began to rise rapidly under the pressure of her strength in the Force.

The force lightning zapped into her body with immense power, forcing her skin to boil and burn in unison "Hahahahaha!" Maro crackled sinisterly as he electrocuted the woman, determined to wear her down to the point of no return. Although, his satisfaction wouldn't last long when a bubble surrounded her body to shield her from the pain he was inflicting. Maro growled and soon lowered his hands, suddenly, limping back up to his feet to try and get some cover.

To say the least, he didn't get far.

As he got to the front of the table the energy he had electrocuted into her was sent right back at him. Maro raised his saber with wide eyes and blocked it head on, forcing the sith to be sent flying across the smooth up until he fell into a chair and toppled it backward to the floor. With a loud groan, the man crumpled on the cold metal, his breath heavy from intense pain in his back. Slowly, he struggled to his hand and knees, snapping his attention to the boy from under the table. It was now or never, the boy's time had come.

Snarling at the padawan the boy suddenly grabbed hold of his head and began to scream wildly, his body rocking backward and forwards from the sounds of whispers and screams filtering through his mind. The injections had made his mentality weak and more susceptible, as well as his physical side which made it hard for him to stand up.

"N-NOOOO PLEASE! STOP NO!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. Maro was expecting the woman to be drawn to the boy like a magnet, her nature wouldn't let him suffer any longer than needed. It was like fishing, when she got close enough and took the bate that's when he'd up his influence over the boy tenfold and make the Jedi suffer for her misdeeds. With an all out increase of pressure on the boy's mind, the padawan unexpectedly pulled the syringe from his pocket and suddenly plunged the syringe towards Valery's thigh, instinctively pressing down to inject the serum into her body

"P-PLEASE! I'M SORRY!" He yelled in absolute shame, but in truth, it wasn't his fault. The injection had pretty much made him Maro's puppet, there was nothing he could have done to stop himself.

It was time to finish this.

The Sith had toppled over the chair Valery had launched him into, and she was drawing on the Force to generate a lot of heat. But her flames were not a weapon she wanted to use to kill, so while she calmed down after his cowardly attack, she also made sure the room returned to normal once again. At least, that was until she heard the boy's cries for help.

With the Sith still on the floor, she quickly rushed over to help him, but a sudden spike of danger slowed her approach down. It was, sadly, too late though — the Padawan plunged the syringe into her thigh, causing her body to stiffen,
"Ah!" she screamed out in pain and stumbled back a few steps as the strange serum entered her body.

Just by being Force-sensitive alone, it was difficult for any serum to affect her, and her training as a Shadow had included tricks and abilities to handle poison as well. But this felt different, stronger, and while she knew she could hold it back for some time, it was going to be a challenge to keep it all together.

"What did..." she stumbled around a little more, dazed by the alien serum flowing through her blood. "You're going to regret that..." she muttered as she drew her weapon up defensively. This time, the rather aggressive fighter within her had to play the defensive game. Until she better understood what was happening, she had to play it safe.

The grin upon the man's face grew wider the more Valery got closer, up until the point where she was within range of the padawan. His mind broke at the perfect moment and acted on the voices inside his head, jabbing the syringe into her thigh to inject the dread serum into her bloodstream. Maro cackled from the scene, giving him the strength to finally get to his feet with a clear wince. The padawan on the other hand felt guilty and broken from betraying a fellow Jedi and quickly crawled behind one of the metal pillars to cry up a storm.

Maro snarled and reignited his lightsaber as he slowly approached, taking note of her now defensive style along the way "I'm sorry Jedi, but you're already finished!" he declared triumphantly, that same grin turning sinister "Now that serum is inside, you can't do anything to stop your inevitable end. The knight, who so desperately tried to fight against it only fell to its power. So did his padawan, who will now serve under me as a free spirit from the cults of Jedi and Sith!" he said with a quick glance to the boy, who silently wept from his wrongdoings "You will follow them... slowly but surely your body will give up on you, tired and exhausted to continue fighting. Along with that, your mentality will shatter until you have no other choice but to listen to every command I mutter... are you prepared for that fate Master Jedi?"

Almost excitedly the maniac approached with his lightsaber drawn. His pocket was still filled with the same serum as before, still intact even though he had been thrown around the room by the Jedi. One dose was bad as it was for her, but a few more would most certainly seal her fate and leave her in the palm of his hand.

"In the end, only you will be filled with regret!"

Slapping his leg a few times to try and withstand the pain he rushed forward aggressively, throwing a mixture of fluid strong strikes along with quick and precise swings to her body. Each one only seemed to get more powerful and swift, the urge to gain another follower fuelling him further. Unexpectedly, he batterers her lightsaber aside and swings a strong punch into her cheek to try and withdraw her focus of challenging the serum inside of her, before swinging at her again to try and catch the master off guard.

"I'm going to..." Valery muttered in her still somewhat weakened state, but she couldn't even finish her sentence before he went on the offensive with an aggressive flurry of attacks. Even when dazed, her skill and experience quickly kicked in, and she deflected the first wave of attacks. But after their blades locked following a powerful block, he managed to exploit her lack of balance and shoved away her blade.

The fist connected with her cheek, causing her lip to bust from teeth digging into them. But while he likely expected her to get thrown around from it, she turned her head back and spoke through bloodied, gritted teeth,
"...end you." Within a split second, Valery allowed the Force to explosively pulse through her body and her knee came up.

She hoped to target his lower ribs with a powerful, Force-augmented blow, but there was something else about her attack as well. The fire from within her had ignited, and flowed around her knee on impact, causing it to extend to his clothing and body. It wasn't something Valery turned against others often, but she needed to bring him down with all her strength before it was too late.

The punch he swung menacingly hit her in the cheek, forcing spots of blood to fly from her mouth from a busted lip. He was almost astonished to see her still standing, but that's what he wanted her to do. He wanted the Jedi to get aggressive and angry at his actions and use up whatever power she had saved up. Once she'd exhausted herself with the help of the serum, that's when her true test would begin. With that, a hand went by his coat pocket as she spoke.

Suddenly, his eyes widened to see a fire knee slam into his ribs with enough force to lift him off his feet. Maro gasped and leaned forwards into her, his mouth gaping open from the amount of breath that had been forced out of him. Along with that, he swore he heard a few snaps, a confirmation that a few of his lower ribs had been broken from the force of the impact. After a few seconds Maro fell before her on his knees, his breath panting heavily and a large scorch mark on his clothing that showed where her flaming knee hit him flush.

She was a powerful Jedi, far more strong than any other Jedi he had faced before. Yet, like many before she had made the same mistake as they had. Not long after her strike, she'd feel a sting of pain in the side of her body, and the site of a syringe sticking out of her body. Unknowing to Valery, just before he was hit with the strike he used his knowledge of sleight of hand to pull out the syringe and stab it into her side when he leaned forwards into her. Right now, the master was playing his game, one that was quickly leading to deep waters with her.

Wincing heavily, his face looked up with a crooked smirk and gasped out "Y-you hit me good Jedi... but at cost?" he giggled in agony, his eyes looking into her fiery gaze with infamy.

"How much do you truly have left Jedi? I can sense your rising hopelessness" he lied, Maro couldn't get a read on how she felt right now but she must have been feeling the rising wave of exhaustion by now. Maro was hurt for sure, but his resistance to pain was quite unnatural. It would take a whole lot more than a few broken ribs to keep him down...

Maro was on the ground again, this time on his knees to recover from the powerful blow that had struck his lower ribs. Without a doubt, she had shattered a few and those fragments alone were a risk to him. But with the adrenaline burst of the moment calming down, the woman's eyes were drawn to something else as well. A rush of pain struck her, as she looked at the syringe that was jabbed into her side.

"I..Ts..ts..." she couldn't speak properly and pulled it out of her body before she stumbled back again. The effects of two doses were kicking in hard, and she knew instantly that this fight needed to end quickly. If she didn't take him down soon, the serum was going to take her down instead, and she'd never be walking out of here again.

"It's..." she spoke through gritted teeth and called on the Force to push herself far beyond her natural limits. It was a somewhat dangerous technique, but she needed it right now. "...not over yet," she continued, as she again drew her blade ready to fight. An idea to finish the fight was brewing in her mind, but it required another clash of blades.

It was going to take everything she had, but if it worked out... it could be the end of it all. So with great determination, she closed the distance and engaged with her saberstaff again, hoping to draw him into a powerful blade lock, even if it meant sustaining more injuries.

"It is already over Jedi, your insolence prevents you from seeing it!" he growled at her as she moved forwards to strike at him with her lightsaber, striking against his sword with purpose. Just from how she struggled to speak the Jedi was starting to feel the effects of the serum now. Right now it was coursing through her veins and exhausting the master's muscles and mind. She was strong, but soon she would fall like the rest who had tried before him.

Maro grunted loudly from each strike and dug down deep to keep the pain from his ribs at bay, allowing it to fuel his hatred for the opponent before him. After another strike, Maro retreated backward slightly and saw something in the corner of his eyes. Half of a broken chair lay on the floor from previous engagements, ripe to be used for something useful again.

Keeping his sinister gaze on hers he moved his hand low and slung the chair from afar before moving forwards to lock their sabers together long enough for the chair to disarm them both. The impact was not hard enough to injure them badly, but strong enough to disarm them both. The Jedi was a formidable saber user, but how would she compare being unarmed and out of her comfort zone? She'd be in his world if he achieved his goal of sending their sabers flying across the room.

A victory in this would only lead to another for the Jedi, as the sith would spin his body from the momentum and send a spinning kick into the side of her ribs.

The clash between their blades continued and with the Force assisting her, she felt confident enough still that she could gain the upperhand. She was forcing him back and due to the injury he sustained from her earlier kick, he wasn't able to push as much strength into his parries and attacks anymore. The only part about him that had gotten stronger was his anger and rage towards her. A weapon for most Sith, but also an aspect of them that could be blinding and lead to their demise.

Sadly, Valery struggled with something else that interfered with her own ability to sense and assess situations. The Serum's effects had gotten stronger and so when they found each other in a blade lock, the warning of imminent danger didn't reach her mind fast enough. The broken chair he had manipulated using the Force connected with their hands, causing only brief and minimal pain but it left them both disarmed. She gritted her teeth and stepped back to defend herself, and he already moved to engage again.

A powerful kick connected with the side of her body, sending a more significant shock through her spine, but rather than shattering ribs or sending her to the ground, Valery remained standing and suddenly grabbed his legs. Her fiery eyes connected with his, and through gritted teeth, she spoke with more clarity in her voice,
