  • Though easily trained, injuries can send the Bev'uliik into a rage if the rider is not careful (wild Bev'uliik are far more susceptible to this, often flying into a rage when threatened).
  • Thick fur can cause the animal to overheat in hot/desert climates (can be alleviated somewhat by shaving).
  • After a bond is formed, it is a long and difficult process to form another bond, Force involvement or not.

Estimated Population: Substantial
Diet: The Bev'uliik is herbivorous and normally grazes in fields and open areas.
Communication: Grunts and calls mixed with body language (it is impossible to determine actual "language", but skilled riders and handlers can get a general "vibe" from an animal's reactions/actions)
Culture: N/A
Technology level: N/A
General behavior:

Bev'uliike tend to avoid humanoid life and are fairly reclusive. This is due to the Vongforming that occurred on Wayland, sending the animals into hiding. No known records of Bev'uliike being Vongformed exist, nor are there any known records of the Vong discovering or mentioning the animal.

Bev'uliike operate under a family grouping, or clan system, of organization. Often the lead or alpha Bev'uliik is female and operates as the matriarch of the clan, leading the group from food source to food source. When threatened, the young are pushed to the middle and the adults form a circle to protect against predators. However, when the young are not present or not threatened specifically, the Bev'uliike are known and renowned for forming into a wall of muscle, hair, and horn before charging full speed. There are few, if any, known records of anyone surviving a full Bev'uliike charge.

History:

The Bev'uliike remained undiscovered in the wilds until just prior to the Gulag plague. Though initially named by Republic scientists and researchers, the name was lost as the plague began. The species thrived in the quiet of the plague and were largely unaffected by the plague itself.

Upon rediscovery of their planet, the Bev'uliik remained in their hidden fields and reclusive areas. Later, when the Mandalorians arrived, things changed. The animals were discovered and, instead of being prized for meat, hide, and their prominent horns, they were domesticated.

The Mandalorians saw the beasts less as a hunt and more as a tool. They were powerful and strong, perfect for plowing fields and plains for crops. They could be domesticated easily, allowing them to easily pull carts and heavy loads long distances. They could be ridden, giving a rider an animal with an easy, rolling gait that could also change into a thunderous charge, should the need arise. As with all things Mandalorian, the animals could be bred for war, turning a natural herbivore into a lethal and devastating war mount.

Notable Player-Characters: N/A
Intent: To give the Mandalorians a unique beast of burden as well as a powerful war mount when desired.

I like this. Kind of a Bantha/Tusken relationship weaved into it.

I actually don't see any needed edits...

So, Approved, pending secondary. Enjoy your Reek-Bantha.
