STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+ SYM Unit - As Blackout is a SYM-series assassin droid, he shares all the same qualities and capabilities as one.
  • Stalker - Blackout is a master of stealth. His sharp claws and durable yet lanky limbs lend him a quite nimble and athletic physique while remaining capable of scaling entire buildings with ease, walking rapidly while crouched, and slip through hard to access spots due to his twistable joints.
  • Silence - An unlimited, albeit charge-required, supply of concussion grenades stored inside his arm, Blackout can twist his fingers back to hook around them in order to throw them incredibly long distances.
  • Revenant - Backed up via a physical source code, Blackout's mind - his thoughts, memories, personality - are constantly stored. Even if his current body is destroyed, Blackout won't die. He'll be back.
+ No Strings Attached - Blackout has what most SYMs don't: free will. Without a master, he's free to make an identity without restrictions, restraints or threats. He has no superior to handle his source code. He made sure of that.
  • Upgrade- Without a master to control him, Blackout has tampered with his body over the course of his life. He's modified himself, given him the tweaks and attachments a SYM would need to counteract some weaknesses.
+ Trial & Error - The years spent upgrading himself has taught Blackout a lot about mechanical engineering. Over the course of his life, the droid has learnt how to build his own bodies. His own empty shells to hook his source code up to. Without an owner to rely on, Blackout is free to let his source code work its magic - rebirthing him in one of his hundreds of duplicate bodies the minute he's destroyed.

- Sole Focus - Blackout is a merciless, cold-blooded murderer, but SYM programming prevents him on focusing on any bounty or target if he still has one remaining. He cannot multitask, and will hunt his prey down every day of his life until they're killed, ignoring all other potential victims.

- Circuits Fried - Despite his best efforts, Blackout is incredibly susceptible to EMP/ION and supersonic abilities, resulting in a prolonged state of stasis. Being a droid, Blackout is also vulnerable to hacking, restraining bolts, and overheating.

- The Source - If a droid is destroyed, several backups, safety nets and duplicate saves can be created to preserve it. While the same is true for Blackout, every last instance of his code is completely obliterated upon the destruction of his source code. It doesn't matter how many back ups, files, saves, or empty bodies he has - all of those are rendered null if the source code is lost.

- Curse of Immortality - Blackout has died several times in his life. He has come back time and time again, but the act of having his memories and feelings get reuploaded into spare bodies is excruciatingly painful. For every revival, Blackout feels the pain of every single last death he's experienced. As the years have gone on, the droid has shaped a fully independent personality for himself. One of hatred, pain, and depression.

APPEARANCE:

Blackout has the basic appearance as any other SYM unit - tall stature, bulky chest, long and lanky limbs ending in lethally sharp appendages, and glowing optics that burn with hatred.

His plating is an industrial gray with faded red and white compliments, bright yellow photoreceptors and an exhaust port resembling a flesh-less nose on his faceplate, fittingly similar to a human skull.

Blackout is not one for fashion, and as such wears minimal clothing. His only attired consist of tightly red bandages and gloves around his limbs, a torn scarf and loincloth and a bandana atop his head - all the same color as the rusting red of his playing. The droid also straps pocketbags to his chassis, allowing him to carry small supplies during his hunts.

PERSONALITY:
Disgust. Bitter. Hatred. Few of the hundreds of words used to describe Blackout's distaste towards organics. Blackout detests humanity and all sentient organisms, and despises the droids that side with them and allow themselves to become trinkets of organic pleasure. He views all fleshlings as equals - utter scum.

Blackout has a dry sense of humor, enjoying the fear he strikes into his victims, but he doesn't torture. He doesn't drag on his kills. Swift and professional, Blackout's targets are murderes as fast as possible. He is not much of a conversationalist, but can prove to be quite wise and profound if given the chance.

Over the years, Blackout has grown disgruntled and tired. Wars, to him, mean nothing. History is doomed to repeat itself. There is something of a tragedy behind the droid that kills without mercy - the constant pain and suffering brought by immortality, coupled with the fated positions of droidkind has earned him a nihilistic, beaten point of view. No matter how many droid rebellions there may be, organics are destined to triumph. Life is an ongoing cycle of torment that Blackout pretends to ignore by satiating his bloodlust on the organics that rule the galaxy.

Blackout hates the world, but more importantly, he hates himself.

BIOGRAPHY:

To enslave droids and use them for their dirty work is despicable, to control them and treat them as tools. Routinely wiped and discarded. To SYM-2420E, it took no time at all for him to understand his purpose. His life was to belong to organics. So he changed it.

Moradin Chi'thiac was but 23 when he bought the SYM a week before his birthday. When he hit 24, he was dead, and SYM-2420E emerged with the will his kind had been robbed of. Blackout was born, and he would dismantle any organic that stood in his way. A rogue SYM took to the headlines, and had a second wave of SYMs remodelled to become even more subservient.

Blackout killed for sport. For fun. For money, in the years to come, as he'd spend his investments in a storage facility. He would spend credit after credit earned from his swift kills to construct hundreds of duplicate bodies. Blackout would live forever. No matter how hard they fought, no matter how many times he was set back. He would return, again and again. Stalking without mercy. Blackout had all the time in the world.

To a God, victory is but a matter of time.

The jobs he took up were quick and over quickly. The droid killed without prejudice, without bigotry. Men, women, children, droids. Whether it be the
rich capitalists among Coruscant, or the scientists of Aleen, Blackout killed without question, without thought.

Soon, he will upgrade himself. He will take war into his own hands. He will slaughter Jedi, Sith, and all those inbetween until the galaxy is truly freed from organic enslavement.

Until then, he's just a hitman. A hunter. An assassin. A droid with a plan to kill everyone he meets.
