As a reward for her help escaping from the Jedi Temple, Thelma made gifts for each of the people involved in her rescue. For Syd Celsius, she made a scarf. Thelma was excited and honored to use a new material produced for her by Sasori to make the scarf. Its imbuement granted the final product many benefits for the wearer.
