Dominion Surreptitious Plans [GE Dominion of Alderaan]

After decades of comm-silence with the Galaxy's intelligence community.

And after countless rumours of old spies' demises....

A pulse had found life again, thudding with vigor from the shadows.

The Old Man of the Mountain, known to all as Scimitar, (and far fewere as someone else) has apparently drawn out from the shadows of obscurity, making a point of pinging as often as he could - on Alderaan of all places.

Operatives of many differing affiliations, naturally trying to gain an advantage over their pursuing counterparts, naturally converged on Aldera at the first opportunity, but someone else had beaten them to the chase. Another old pulse from the shadows of obscurity, though this old legend was certainly the more-visible example of the two, as there were many rumours that had been confirmed of Denniston Thrast at the time, and plenty more confirmed since the Imperial-Military remnant was established.

Timing his moment to strike, and quite perfectly at that, Codename: Hunter would slip past all his competition unnoticed in his convergence on Scimitar's position, endeavoured even at the most-brazen of leisurely strolling-pace, leaving those who finally noticed in a collective fit of incredulity. True to the form of his organisation, inherited from the Protectorate's current ruler, a man who just so happens to be the Empire's very own Public-Enemy in chief. Differing entirely to the faith and doctrine of the Tattered Regent, its a wonder why Barran keeps them in play, but it seems we won't be hearing from the Highland Brotherhood for a while.

As it just so happened, for all that Hunter achieved in closing the distance, he made the mistake of savouring his kill, resulting in the quick, and final intervention of an assisting sniper. Likely an element from the Massad Fedayeen, but we have not yet been able to confirm the merit of this likelihood, as neither shooter nor trajectory have been pinpointed as yet; we were lucky enough to have eyes on the ground for the matter, let alone on Alderaan, and the striking-iron is still very much hot at the moment.

Time is of the essence, and if we bring Scimitar into the fold now, the very quality of our agents could skyrocket - wily and surreptious from the moment they leave the academy.

BRIEFING

Target: Massad, Jordi
Codename: Scimitar
Age: 68
Species: Human (Kandaran)
Orders:
Capture Target
Exfiltrate Target to Coruscant

From the moment you move to engage, our craftiest target yet will already be on the move, and likely at considerable speed, as its clear by the design of his speeder that Scimitar has spared no expense in his choice of automotive solution. So make haste, and make it like never before, and make peace with the fact you'll encounter hazards beyond number along the way. Regardless of whether the chase would end in the city or the wilderness, there is much on the speeder trails that would careen your vehicles off-course, and much more that could cause lethal crashes, so be as wary as you can in the midst of audacity.

The fine balance of which all of yesteryear's operatives have maintained for decades.

Mk. III Model of Kesh Automotive's "KAS-14"
Scimitar's Chosen Speeder

Whatever tools you have at your disposal, whether of matter or thought, bring the speeder down, and subdue your target in any fashion that assures there is no reaching for his blaster; and in the event he is sent sprawling from an eventual crash, the lion's share of your vigilance will be needed, either that or a numerical advantage when the drop is obtained over Massad's position. However, this all without the speeder's design considered, as there is great aggression to consider as much as one would for speed and handling, supported by the front-loaded frame over it's chassis, making it a nightmare for other speeder's caught in T-Bone peril.

Assuming the Kandaran desires to escape the planet as much as his pursuers, there are a number of directions he could take, and due to the fact his arrival was never tracked, only Massad still knows what and where his starship might be. Units will be stationed at all three of Alderaan's main spaceports, and with others barely being large enough to suit such needs, only the shiftiest backwater paddocks could accept such arrivals without complaint, but these have been more difficult to narrow down. The possibilities of the right location become a far more numerous extreme than any analyst is comfortable admitting, so let us hope our target has chosen to enter Alderan space under cover strong enough to arrive unchallenged.

We only have one chance to catch this man, as he has proven wispier than smoke to apprehend thus far - command agrees that we lose Scimitar forever if we don't snatch him now.

[BRRRRRRRRRT]
[BRRRRRRRRRRT]

'WHETHER YOU WANT ME DEAD OR CAPTURED, IT MATTERS NOT!!!! EITHER WAY, YOU'LL HAVE TO RUN ME DOWN TO ACHIEVE IT!!!!'

It felt exhilarating, to live like he had so long ago, and like an injection hitting an intravenous line, directly into the soul, it felt as though his veins were flowing with the vigor of youth once more. A second wind, the likes of which he never knew were attainable for men of his age, as there were no ethnic (or even geneological-) Goidelic ties upon which he could call by then, no greybeard ferocity that Jordi could use to amplify himself in the heat of battle. Whatever this was, as far as the Old Kandaran could tell, it was likely more-closely tied to something altogether more spiritual in contrast, almost as if something beyond human comprehension had chosen to favour the Old Man of the Mountain.

[BRRRRRRRRRRT-]
[Kssssssss]

'LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!'

After running it's power-pack dead, the CR-2 was rendered useless, giving Scimitar no choice but to cast it aside in the attempt to reach his speeder-bike, still sitting in neutral, just a short sprint away. With nothing left to use but his blaster-pistol and vibro-dagger, even Massad knew these last-remaining resources would run finite before long, all there was to use as a weapon, and against so many pursuers, (of all differing agencies) was the world around him. All that Scimitar could, and would do, was reach his speeder, as even the vehicle itself would prove a more potent weapon than those he discretely kept in sheath and holster.

When Massad had finally gotten around the corner, the only thing getting in the way was a young lad messing around with the speeder, and though this would likely have annoyed the old Kandaran under other circumstances, the refreshingly good mood only allowed irritation enough to jokingly hiss and wave the lad off the seat. Making Jordi's generosity come out when the lad obeyed him, tossing a freshly minted Imperial credit-chip towards the lad's outstretched hands, probably more than the lad could make in an entire month on Alderaan at the time, though this would bear no thought when he finally kicked his speeder's ignition into life.

'Get off the street, boy. I'm just about to have some fun, and that never bodes well for the clumsy! Go!'

DT-9197 stared blankly onward, through the hull of the shuttle which he was assigned to. His mind was being fed information about the planet he was being deployed to, the denizens that dwelt upon the land, the conditions of the biosphere, along with what fauna and flora existed there. From mountains to grassland, there was a beauty that could appreciated about such a planet. DT-9197 didn't have that luxury, nor the capacity to find meaning in the niceties of a mind that could wonder at the nature, marvel at how sunlight shone upon the surface of a barely disturbed lake.

Like a machine, he had a function and a purpose. A tool that achieved results, outcomes that expanded Imperial progress. There were no opinions to be had, no words to be uttered under one's breath to express dissatisfaction over the task at hand, there was only action.

The Terminus slipped from hyperspace like a dirge note held too long, its hull bruised by starlight as Alderaan unfurled beneath it; verdant, serene, and achingly alive. Darth Keres, alone, stood upon the bridge, her presence a cold shadow amid the soft glow of navigational lights and sensors, regarding the planet with an expression that might have been mistaken for reverence.

Alderaan's mountains rose like gothic spires wrapped in mist, its forests breathing with an innocence that pressed uncomfortably against the dark gravity of her being. She had come not as a conqueror, nor as a harbinger of annihilation, but as a weary pilgrim seeking reprieve: rest for flesh, if not for spirit.

Upon the surface, she moved through alabaster streets and hanging gardens as a ghost in borrowed skin, her robes muted, her power leashed. The locals dined in candlelit halls where music wept softly from stringed instruments, and Darth Keres partook of Alderaanian fare with a scholar's curiosity: spiced nerf cutlets glazed in sweet wine reductions, delicate breads infused with mountain herbs, and crystal-clear liquors that burned like confession upon the tongue.

She observed customs with predatory patience, festivals celebrating birth and union, rites honoring ancestors whose bones slept peacefully beneath marble markers. All of it fascinated her, this fragile insistence on harmony, as though peace itself were a defiance of the dark.

Yet it was the courthouse that called to her most strongly, its stone walls heavy with whispered transgressions and carefully buried sins. She sat among the observers as a murder trial unfolded, the air thick with grief, righteous outrage, and the faint metallic tang of fear.

Testimony peeled back the layers of a single, intimate death; jealousy sharpened into violence, love curdled into motive, and she listened with rapt attention. Here, she thought, was Alderaan's truest liturgy: not the songs or gardens, but the solemn ritual of judging one life against another.

As the verdict was pronounced, she felt a quiet dissatisfaction coil within her. Even in a world devoted to peace, the dark found purchase; and Darth Keres, sitting baffled, still believed the accused was innocent.

'There we go!'
Having dropped out of hovering neutral setting, ignition would only take one geared strike of his kick-pedal, and before the old Kandaran knew it, his back was already threatening to lift his posture against the oncoming gravitational force. A beast it was in it's lower gears, but Jordi adjusted well enough beyond the point of the issue mattering to any extent, and for as long as he retained his dominance over his trusty KAS-14, Massad could still retain that confidence in his eventual escape. Scimitar knew that the cornering aspects would counteract that intensity perfectly, so it was all the easier for the old Kandaran to commit beyond the known peak of the speeder's torque-reach, but for all the sudden acceleration and manoeuvrability it offered, there were always newer speeder-bikes on the market.

And many more pilots with crazed disregards for their own safety.

'You damn relic, obey me! I want to put this life behind me already!'

[Hssss]
[VUUUUuuuuuuuummm]

Scimitar could already hear the engines of approaching speeders, pursuers with an entire array of conflicting orders for their desired target, but yet, as much as Jordi once relished such chases, it's foreboding implications could not be ignored this time around. This was not (by any stretch of the imagination) a good sign, and for as long as pursuers continued to put the escape at risk, the chances of success would steadily begin to descend for every minute the chase persisted, a thought that already threatened to turn Jordi's stomach at the worst possible moment. Made all the worse by the aforementioned variance of reactions in the wake of his still-hypothetical capture, as some would want him to repent in errant, good-deed fashion, others would want him rotting in jail for the rest of his days.

But the largest share of all would go to those who wished to see Massad perish, and among their lot lay the greatest canopy of cruel, grisly variables, most notable of whom being of affiliation to the IMP and GA alike; though the main foes required him to die by quick, uninspired means, others wished to rip his heart from his chest and eat it, while some wished for a demise much slower, more torturous in contrast. It was safe to say that Scimitar had amassed many adversaries over the years, collecting rivals like trading-cards before, during, and long after his tenure as Don Belkora's deep-cover asset, and despite the fact the greatest of whom had perished just moments before, the risk of dying before escape was also increasing.

Destroy GA outpost

Post One

29th Engineer Brigade, 3rd Battalion, Alpha Company

The worst place on Alderaan. That's where Captain Redmond and his men found themselves, near the planet's south pole. Flyboys had detected rogue signals and a Naval scan comfirmed a satellite array was definitely being used for something someone was attempting to keep hidden. A Storm Trooper detatchment had been sent to the surface, infantry, arty, engis, and armor, to assault the large, walled multi building compound as opposed to a direct Naval strike, command preffered to pilfer the remains of the place. A cold, barren wind howled over the expanse of the Alderaanian plains, seeming to cut right thru their armor. Around him his men dug into the small mountainside within sight of the compound, assisting heavy machine gunners in getting set up as the artillery did the same, armor and infantry would hit soon after, with his boys rushing down the other side of the hill with said compliment of infantry and armor. Would create a good crossfire and prevent a counterattack along that flank, freeing up more of the infantry to push inward.

The Captain keyed his men and began rucking over the rugged landscape towards the staging area. He grimaced at the occasional bump as his metallic leg took the brunt of his weight. An old pain, but a constant one. Around him the three platoons of engineers that made up Alpha, his responsibility, moved with a practiced awareness that made the man beem with pride.

Post 2:

Recon had confirmed GA presence shortly before the bombardment began. Intel and initial observantion had confirmed the militancy of the group, with multiple weapons systems, now dead lookouts, and more than a few locations to store vehicles and manpower. An opening salvo from the artillery battery positioned a few klicks back peppered the base and the armor opened up on the gigantic wall surrounding the satellite array and the parallel airfield. Massive bolts flew through the air dramatically, arching into the compound and catching those unlucky enough to be within blast range in a plasma fueled inferno. The GA remants scattered as they attempted to avoid the bombardment.

Tanks did their job's dutifully, punching through the large duracrete wall in section before making a huge chasm with sustained fire as they charged down the small mountainside. The infantry streamed behind them, using them as cover from the incoming blaster fire from the still intact section of walls, where rebs were amassing to repel the assault force. The engineers ran along behind them, pouring towards the opening with equal energy.

'You will die today, amateurs! YOU LOSE YOUR LIVES TO AN OLD MAN!!!!'
[PFFFUuuuuuu]
[Vu-V-Vu-VUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM]

The skyrises, the domed rooftops and oasis gardens alike had slipped by Scimitar's periphery by then, drawing him deeper into the lower-class hovels around Aldera's inner-city districts; and within moments, all the pursuers would receive their due notification that the old Kandaran was not heading for one of the main Spaceports, against a large majority of suchlike expectations. For all intents and purposes, the pursuers would be in for the worst-case scenarios after all, and if they were to hope for survival that day, then they would need to hope they had sharper wits, and wilder dispositions on speeders than their target always had been.

The latter was the easy part, but the former, as much as many new-gen agents were loathe to admit, was never quite so easy to obtain behind the handlebars.

A fair few of his pursuers had been muscled off their steady balance after the chase began, and much to Jordi's elation, most of whom had crashed into the urban environment by the time he made it into the shanty districts. Massad had been wily enough to avoid even reaching for his blaster pistol thusfar, fully aware that it would be needed in the latter stages of his escape attempt, and for as long as his KAS-14 speeder remained a potent equalizer on it's own, there would not even be so much as a need for the pistol at his hip. Or, at the very least, not until the trees returned to the setting ahead, as it was then that all remaining pursuers would have the most-pertinent intel to pass on, and it was those specific agents of whom Jordi knew were required to die quickly.

'NOT TODAY, YOU GREEDY FIENDS!!!! NOT TODAY!!!!'

3rd Fleet

Lucius watched the lines of hyperspace flash past brilliantly from the Star Destroyer Voidtreader's Bridge, as his crew dutifully carried out their tasks. In a twist of fate, the Admiral had stumbled upon a decent portion of his active duty military kin. After High Com had ordered them to gather themselves as quickly as possible and exfil to Aldeeran to assist there, a good portion of the 4th's on the ground troopers and assets had ended up in the 3rd for the evacuation. The notable exception being Nigel, who's squadron simply flew back to their Destroyers. Though they were making the same jourbey, seperately. He wouldn't call it a retreat, more a withdrawl, as they had no tactical need to leave beyond their orders.

Lucius had appreciated the practicality of his new master, who'd simply affirmed the orders given by the Admiralty Board. Whatever was going on, it was clear that it was crucial that the fleet be in the core, for some reason. His eyes narrowed as his mind searched for what that reason might be.

Post 2
3rd Fleet

The Fleet slipped back into real space as the thin, bright lines of hyperspace faded into nothing. Before them sat Aldeeran, a colorful floating orb in a sea of darkness. The crews directed their ships towards the southern pole of the world, to assist the assault on the complex and do a general show of force for any other rogue elements that could be hiding out in the system. There was potential for tunneling, as a few of the intel reports command had sent over suggested, so the situation itself was variable.

A general mobilization order was given and all the Stormtroopers and equipment they'd pulled from Galantos prepared to jump into the fire once again. A few days rest and recoup had been all that the trip had granted. The 4th followed suit and the Redmonds prepared to descend on the GA again. Lucius had a few moments to spend with Lee during the trip and found himself the mildest bit worried, the young man had a rough trial by fire and first contact. The fresh scars of the psychological trauma still sitting somewhere near the front of his eyes. Lee's crawler had been cut in half, and he was one of two medics there to pick up the literal pieces of his fellows as fire rained around them.

Lucius grimaced. The boy would need it in the days to come.

Post 3
3rd Fleet, 4th Fleet

The fleets moved into position over the satellite arrays as the artillery bombarded the compound, taking care to avoid their firelanes and establish communications with the artillery corp below. Aboard the ships his own infantry elements organized themselves, preparing to join the assault below as a second wave and support element. Stormtroopers and the armor contingent on the ground moved professionally, sticking behind the hulks best they could as they plunged forward into the breach.

Artillerly continued until the infantry made it well inside the walled perimeter, when men began to storm the outermost walls and guard towers, both taking over and setting up their own positions, facing inward of the rebs. They'd fallen back to a secondary firing line and were setting up along it, with concrete and emplacements pre established for such a scenario. Lucius smiled as the artillery died down. He'd drop his boys on their flank, inside the walls, averting the emplacements. The armor slowed and moved cautiously as a few rockets found their way towards them. The Admiral motioned for coms to connect him to the Naval Infantry and Stormtrooper detachment hangar bays.

"Join up with your fellows, destroy the enemy, MAKE THE 3RD PROUD AND ALL HAIL THE EMPIRE!"

Post 1
Foederati Contingent, 3rd Fleet

The fresh, cold air of Aldeeran's southern hemisphere hit Norman like a tornado as he peaked out of the gunship's open bay. Bringing a turrent of laughter and whoops from both himself and those around him. One conflict zone straight to another, no time to sit and fret about the past. Norman could get used to life among the Marauders. They were a similarly scarred bunch, psychologically and physically. Tatooed to a degree unacceptable to any other unit within the Empire. A perfect home for someone like the newly renamed Redmond, who'd spent the last nine hundred years asleep as Trent. The Khan had helped him to find his genetic descendants and to his great relief, he found a large and healthy home, largely dedicated to the same values he'd held in the distant past. They'd immediately taken him in and from them he'd found a hint of peace where he didn't think any could be.

But he wasn't sane enough to remain among them, at home. No. The sleep and his own nature burned at the loss of all he'd known, in a seeming endless set of waves. He needed to be with the Marauders, thundering across enemy homeworlds and foreign planes.

Otherwise, he'd find his death waiting in the inactivity of peace.

Post 1
3rd Fleet Stormtrooper Detachment

Again they loaded onto assault ships, this time piloted by his uncle, Nigel's own squadron. The klakens howled and whined as the doors on the transport ship closed slightly, allowing enough space for the door gunners on either side with DLT-34's to have clear lanes of fire and manuevering. The larger MGs were incredibly effective at their roles, tending to clear landing zones quickly as the ships roared in. As the air became thicker Lee felt his lungs draw more O2 through his helmet's filters, drawing deeply as they descended. His armor bore a few scars from the previous engagement, an unusually dramatic trial by fire for the PFC. His ncos and officers had praised him, but he was still processing the trauma of it, responding simply as he thought he should as opposed to legitimately reacting to the feedback. Too much had been happening in too quick an amount of time.

As the cloud layer parted and sunshine poured in the DLTs opened up on the unsuspecting rear of the Array's security forces. They'd come screaming out the sky like mynocks, taking out wide sections as they opened up on their second line positions and landed nearby, quickly dropping their troop contigents before taking off again, almost ceaselessly continuing the flow of fire. The cover allowed both them to leave and the debarking troopers to find appropriate cover for engaging the enemy where they were. Lee thundered alomg with his squad, firing periodically and keeping an eye for any Imperial casualties.
