LOA Surgery Time

This coming Wednesday (Sept 11th) I'm getting my thyroid, some lymph nodes, and hopefully all of the adjoining cancer removed. I've heard that the recovery can be a spectrum - some folks feel fine in a few days, while others need more time to get back up to speed.

I've been pretty slow with the posting this last week due to travel + a cold, and I might be busier than usual this coming week as I prep for surgery. Just wanted to give the folks I'm writing with a heads up that I might drop off the radar for a bit – it's always hard to predict these things, but I'm hoping for an easy recovery where I'll feel well enough to do some routine stuff, including writing!

Also, a big thank you to those who've shown me kindness and grace over the past few months. I'll make sure you get sick of me soon enough.

Thank you everyone! My surgery went well and I’m recovering nicely at home now. Still pretty sore from being intubated but lots of tea and lozenges are helping

We don’t know for sure yet if I’ll need any more treatment until the final pathology report is back, but things seem to be looking positive so far.
