Super Special Awesome Secret Atrisian Celebration Gift Exchange........ in 3D

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"]

Kyoko had worked on a number of things but standing there in the room, she had given a look towards the box. The artisan had really went to town to create the ultimate gift for Asaraa, based off of her work in the SHien/Djem so training course... well what training they got instruction on. It mostly seemed like an excuse for the two of them to talk while swinging their sabers around. The teacher had made less instruction while flirting or joking with others.... So she had worked to test out and really see what could be done when she was showing off her saber disc blades. With Asaraa she had also gotten a chance to see some of the others though she caught something from someone else in the room and was uncertain before she stood up.

Wearing her ultrachrome and skylar bodyglove. It was sleeveless and shiny, framing her small frame and body but leaving the pale arms exposed and her kitsune like fox ears under her hair, her fluffy tail that was wrapped around her waist and most weren't able to seen. She had her hair over her ears but in a ponytail. The other thing here in the artisan's quarters of the star temple. It gleamed as a jewel on the island away fromt he silver rest. The wookiee's were different here as well where they checked on equipment and brought in different types of food. Instead of the vast shadowlands the trees here went down itno bogs and swamps with different types of fish around the island. Their shadowlands were filled with smaller creatures.

The table had the food on it and she moved to look at the slices of fish and meat cooking, a surf and turf with rice that had been grown. Tea for the two of them and Kyoko included some sweet cream that was in the machine being freshly made. Bred shaped intop a bowl with potato soup and corn, bacon bits there that were able to be put in as wanted and shredded cheese. The gift Chrysanthemum was on the table though in an ornate box gilded with aurodium, an intricate belt and holder for it on the hip with a resource chip to make it and Asaraa's equipment lighter for a time. Kyoko looked over at a few parts of it until she was moving around the kitchenette that had been set up and leaving room for the purple haired girl to join her.

The smell of food had drifted all the way down the hall filling the entire passage with the scent of cooking meat and the slightest tang of fish and vegetables. It wasn’t like a restaurant with it’s kitchen set back out of sight but rather more of a house feel. Not that the pink-haired one had ever actually been to a house to eat before, she mostly managed to get by with eating at the cafeteria with the other Jedi and rangers. The truth was home cooked food had never really appealed to her, part of the upbringing she’d come up with at the temple. Still, free food was never something to be passed over and turned down.

Which is what brought her here, pacing down the hall as she stared at the door cautiously. She had learned one thing from her experiences with the Ike, and that was she made an effort to surprise people and not always in the best way. Jumping out at people in the middle of markets was a pretty good way to get someone hurt, or give someone a heart attack, and she found herself a little worried about what [member="Kyoko Ike"] might be planning when the door opened. Still, you never knew till you tried right? Hesitantly the girl reached up to knock on the door, here we go.

SHe titled her head up when she felt it Asaraa was approaching and Kyoko moved quickly towards the window. Eyes darting up when she slinked and with practiced grace move in a leap and bound across the ledge to another room. The knock ringing in her ears before she slipped in and remained quiet. Heartbeat slow, breathing minimal and force presence muted. She was looking at her for a moment seeing the pink purple hair, the skin and offered a small smile on her face. "HEy what cha doing?" She said it looking at the door and knocking. "Oh are we going to a party?" SHe was curious though and remained there for a moment before offering the wide grin opening the door with a palm print.

So that was how she wanted to play it huh, Asaraa let her hand fall to her side as she turned on one foot to look at the other woman one eyebrow rising carefully. If it wasn't for the constant attacks she might have leapt out of her skin but at least now she managed to control herself. "Oh nothing like that, just was planning on stopping by to say hi, but since you're out here...hi." Asaraa made as if to walk away down the corridor, "Parties have never really been my thing, too loud, too uncontrollable, I've always preferred things a little more controllable."

Kyoko looked at her and bowed her head. As much as she enjoyed this... as much as she wanted to get to know Asaraa she also kind of wanted to have fun. "Okay." She said it and started heading inside with a small huff. Eyes going over the table of food and she left the door open but sat down picking a plate and some food for herself with a small frown then looked over at things. "At least my food will taste good." She offered a small look leaning back with one plate in her hand and a fork in the other. Scooping some fo the rice and some fo the juice from the meat to flavor it with extra taste. "Yummy."

The pink-haired girl smirked, leaning in the doorway as she let her eyes flick over the table, the repast that had been laid out as she nodded her head slowly, "No kidding, you can smell that all the way down the hallway. You can't tell me you eat like this everyday and still look like that," she pointed out gesturing at the other woman. Well, she wasn't quite sure if the woman had been teasing her back now, or if she had genuinely felt offended by the party comment but, well the truth was Asaraa had always felt more at home with a small group of friends than as part of a large party.

She looked up from the food for a moment and let her eyes stare for a moment as she gave a shrug. "I train and I use the force. This much food is easily enough energy to practice with after I eat." She took a few more bites and then got a drink. "So you came back." She offered a small pouty smile but leaned back putting the plate down. "Come sit down." She was motioning with her hands towards the other side of the table and motioned to the door. "Close it please, the table has more then enough food." She was getting a drink as she poured it from a pitcher and the atrisian jedi master stretched out where she was looking at it.

The pink-haired girl shrugged as she let the door swing shut behind her, reaching out with the force to slow the door, letting it close with a soft click. "I mean, I train a lot, and use the force but I don't think I could manage that much food." Lowering herself to the ground Asaraa reached for a plate, just collecting a small amount of the food as she offered Kyoko a smile, "I had an invite, of course I came to hang out, just wanted to tease you miss lets sneak around and try to play with me," the teasing reply came as Asaraa's free hand came up to tap her head. "It's not like you're difficult to sense through the force."

Kyoko gave a shrug whiel she sat there eating a little more. "My family are artisan's and the tech division. Making entire feasts that can be stored within the ration packs and are full of flavor is easy enough to do or have the converters create full meals." SHe was looking at Asaraa though and offered a small smile. A chance to hang out was always fun so why not. Though she was confused by some of it as it hadn't seemed like teasing if anything seemed more like Asaraa usually wanted to do something else and gave her said attention to amuse herself. Still Kyoko wsn't going to turn down things as she slid her saber discs on the table but motioned her head towards the case in the center. "I made you something, based on what you said."

The pink-haired Padawan tilted her head to the side curiously, blue eyes watching the artisan talk, there seemed to be a little hesitation to the woman. Asaraa wasn't sure what it was, she had felt Kyoko in her suite, the other woman moving around and darting around to come in behind her. It's why she had decided to play as if she was just stopping by to say hi. Hopefully the other hadn't been too offended but, Asaraa pulled herself out of the muddle of thoughts running around her head and she smiled back at Kyoko, chewing slowly on the food on her plate. "So wait, you make things and can cook? What kinda training regiment does your family put you through? That's amazing, I can't even imagine being able to think about it, let alone actually figure out how to put something like this together." Inevitably her hand reached out for the box, pulling herself up short as she gave the woman a curious look, "May I?"

Kyoko looked at her and raised an eyebrow. "Yes, a jedi should have a polymathic education and skill set so we can offer adivse and have knowledge to go into situations. We arent' just weapons, or monks we are diplomats, artists, healers, doctors, seer's and so many more things. Limiting your education is silly as we are practically encouraged to be autodidactic and teach ourselves as much as we are encouraged to learn from our masters if we have them," She offered a smle though and was now realy realy curious how limiting Asaraa had taught. it felt almost a shame compared to some that she had seen to not try and teach as much as possible..... Hmmm maybe that was why mos tof her family were ignored or disliked by some. They didn't try and settle into a single mold or idea... something to chew on and think about in the future. Her eyes drifted to the case with the saber and she bowed her head. "Of course."

[member="Kyoko Ike"]

You're not wrong," Asaraa allowed as she took another bite from her plate, savouring the food, "in a perfect world it'd be exactly as you describe. Each Jedi would and should have a polymathic education, able to as easily act as a judge or a diplomat, a doctor or a merchant. But this isn't a perfect world." The girl leaned back, glancing down at the lightsaber in the box, smiling at Kyoko before she levitated it up, letting it hang in the air between them. "That's beautiful, but help my point. The galaxy we live in drives us more towards the martial skills than the true polymathic education we should have. I bet that I'm a better fighter than the polymathic Jedi of the past because that's the galaxy we're in. Our lives are defined by the conflict with the Sith, with protecting those who're weak. Look at my masters, Yuroic and Josh are both fine Jedi, and I'm proud to have studied under them, but they're both Jedi of the martial tradition. With the galaxy, with the way the masters work out, is it any surprise I ended up focusing my studies on the path that would make me a better warrior."

She looked at her and had a look. "We have been in war for decades now and you are not wrong but not wholly correct. We all know how to fight just as we all have the ability to learn the other skills. We will use it more often, we will face many challenges." A smirk on her face though where she was looking now with some of the food and she got a drink. "You just have to learn how to have a little fun with it and I do feel a little bad. In Joshua's class we played around but... his lesson was so vague It seemed easier to fill in the gaps and I know his master my aunt would have taught him a lot better then that. She has practically reconstructed the jedi archives several times." She sai it and it was a little exaggeration but also... not really seemed everyone knew how to break in and steal or wipe or blow up the data to cripple the order so gotten really good as recovering and backing up.

[member="Kyoko Ike"]

Asaraa bit her lip as she tilted her head to the side, "You might be on to something there, there are skills that are certainly much more useful than the ability to kill or defend. Things like cooking food like this for example. If more people know how to cook like this, or craft wonderful objects then maybe the galaxy would be a little nicer, a little more peaceful. Instead, people like me dominate, we don't know how to build or make, but we do know how to destroy. I could never even imagine something as nice as this," she gestured at the saber floating in the air between them, "but I know how to use it to destroy others." A sad little smile pulled up Asaraa's lips, "I'm learning that there's a world of difference knowing how to fight and living it, being it. The same way your aunt's gotten so good at restoring the archives, there are people who have gotten really good at breaking them. But hey, if we can be the shield that protects innocent people then you can build a better world for them all to live in right?"

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"]

"That is akind of a horrible view." She said it looking up. "You are a jedi, by definition you have learned more then enough about other things. Even focusing on fighting, a normal and basic education for agricultural sciences, math, physics, ship piloting and repair. Droids, equipment, social interaction. I find this constant convenient lack of teaching to be disturbing. It speaks of teachings and education being given is less and less helpful to the jedi." There was a look at her though before she was checking at some of the parts here. Witht he food and then at the saber when she didn't need to do much else but pushed at it to go to her.

Asaraa reached out, picking up a morsel of food, lifting it into the air, turning it back and forward, examining it under the light. "We might have a very focused education it's true, and there are some things that I would love to learn how to do. For example, I would love to know how to cook like this, but agricultural sciences, that's not something I feel any attraction to learning." The pink haired Jedi popped the morsel into her mouth, chewing on it for a moment, savouring the taste before nodding at [member="Kyoko Ike"], "It's the old generalist vs specialist argument, isn't it? Which is superior, someone who knows a little bit of everything but is able to see the whole field, to bring multiple sources of knowledge to a problem, or someone who has only one focus, but is an expert at that. If you need to repair something send a mechanic, to argue send a diplomat, to protect something send a warrior. I do agree with you, over time you pick up more here and there, but I would tend towards the specialist side with people able to learn what it is they want to add to their repertoire."

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"]

She listened and ate but was.... hoping for something. Asaraa seemed to not want to be in a conversation or ask questions bring up topics... it made this feel one sided and Internally she was frowning a little. "I see." She said it having a drink and remaining in silence as she was eating letting herself enjoy the meal until she was finished. "Hmmm that was good." She said it and leaned back a little keeping her hands on the arms of the seat but stretching as she could fel her spine popping and tension going away. Her tail bunched up with the seat but still comfortable for the moment as the jedi herself was revitalizing herself with the force and the food.

"Yeah," the pink-haired Jedi let her own chopsticks rest on the table, a satisfied smile pulling at her lips as she let her hands reach out behind her, resting on the floor as she transferred her weight back onto them. "So, you can obviously cook this really well, but what about other foods? I know you're more of an artisan, but do you get to go and visit other worlds much? Try other forms of cooking?" The girl offered Kyoko a grin, "It's one of the best parts about this job, so, which was your favourite?" Kashyyyk was amazing, but mostly because of the people there, the friends and family that had grown up in the order, but as a planet, well the galaxy was filled with so many marvels that it was pretty hard to choose. But that was perhaps what made this sharing of stories so much fun. "It's kinda odd, but I kinda loved visiting Nar Shadaa, it's just so...different. It's teeming with life, not all of it good but everyone so much more active and bubbling than anywhere else I've been."

Kyoko looked at her. "You just answered your own question. I am an artisan, we don't just sit in workshops and develop equipment for the jedi order. From the food stores and methods to preserve and keep them for longer periods of time.... To the clothing the younglings use to protect them. We research and study food from across the galaxy, with the seeder probes and network we are able to work with thousands upon thousands of worlds, gathering food, metals, fruits, materials." She said it and sat there, that they had deciphered kwa technology and knew how to use star temples for traveling around and k'kybek ships was only a benefit.

Her eyes though showed some amusement at possibly surprising. "But if I had to choose a place in the galaxy that is my favorite. It would be Ahch-To, despite being seen as the location of the first jedi temple after the schism and storms came to Tython it is also so much more. We looked just below the surface with Grandmaster Crieff and discovered the remains of a Star Temple, below that was more caves leading to the Repository of the caretakers. A room filled with thousands upon thousands of years of jedi artifacts they collected each time the world was reset for the next group of jedi. A continued wheel of discovery and leting jedi come to their own views."

She said it and smirked to herself, the Repository had shown the world was less lost and more 'lost' in how it had generations of different jedi artifacts and groups who had been there... every time someone thought the order was being a problem and needed to get back tot heir roots so they set out. THe things in there though were telling as you also got to see time capsules essentially of equipment from ancient jedi who understood how to use kyb er crystals for more then just sabers, to more technologically savvy jedi.. to the far reaching ancient je'daii who had purged the Bogan and you could see things they had sealed away in the darkest vaults.

"We even found things from the Order of Lettow before they were driven into a schism. We found the original silver jedi orders writings and some of their views. It was quite interesting to look at how much has changed since the order was founded nearly a thousand years ago. Researching and study of the force aside from what most like to focus on which is fighting the darkside." She said the last and that usually fell by the wayside in favor of being friendly which wasn't bad either... honestly she preferred peace in the galaxy and if it could be achieved with the two sides not waging total war against each other and endangering the people on the worlds or around them well... better.

Doubtful it would last but it could be good to have ideals and fantasies otherwise you became cynical and jaded to the galaxy... or you just rewrote everything to make yourself the best and center of attention.... or ran off at the first chance with darksiders and had no maturity to have yourself challenged in your beliefs. Kyoko was glad about one thing ... Karrashiuri temple was stilll standing with its secrecy and there was something nice to be said about going to Ahch-To or the Library itself.. hell there was a number of places that the jedi artisan's and her family had cultivated instead of focusing on the rest solely.

As the woman spoke Asaraa found herself drawn into the image, her ever-fertile imagination painting a picture as [member="Kyoko Ike"] spoke. She knew that it probably wasn't really how it was but she couldn't help but imagine the catacombs as a small tunnel, the kind you saw in the dramas about ancient times. Branching off the tunnel small torchlight rooms stacked high with goods, with the artefacts that the woman was describing. In truth, a planet that was used to acting as a storehouse wouldn't risk anything in such a poorly planned storage, she had little doubt that the actual storage was something that could put any archive to shame but still, there was something...romantic about that torchlight picture.

"Honestly, I'm kinda surprised that you ever left Ahch-To, if it's as packed with history and artefacts as you make it sound like then it'd be a lifetime, no a families entire work just to go through everything and sort it out. Not even take it apart and see what works there, just to catalogue it. When you were there, did anything jump out at you, anything really really cool? Anything you decided to bring back with you, or anything you wish you could?"

The pink-haired Jedi leaned back, reaching for her drink, "So, those Silvers of the past, did they come up with anything useful? I remember that things didn't end up going all that well for them in the end, and there's probably a lesson there, but did you find anything that we can use...no that's not right, there's always something to use or to learn." Asaraa sighed, giving Kyoko a wry shrug, "You get what I mean?"
