GENERAL INFORMATION

CategoriesDetails
Unit NameSunfire Legionnaires
AffiliationCenterra; Sunfire Legion; the Lord Protector of Centerra
ClassificationInfantry / Line Troops / Planetary Defense / Security Force
DescriptionSunfire Legionnaires are the standard soldiers of Centerra's Sunfire Legion: the armored line beneath the banner, the boots at the gate, the shielded patrol along rain-dark roads and high mountain passes. They are not elite Cataphracts, Dragon-Knights, commandos, or Force-wielding champions. They are trained, practical infantry raised to defend Centerra's settlements, roads, temples, civic holdings, and vulnerable populations.

COMBAT INFORMATION

CategoriesDetails
Unit SizeLarge — many individuals, representing standard rank-and-file Legionnaire formations rather than the whole army.
Unit AvailabilityUncommon — there are enough Sunfire Legionnaires to support Centerra's defensive needs, but their better equipment, mixed-species fittings, training pipeline, and local supply needs keep them from being endlessly available.
Unit ExperienceTrained — professional soldiers with standard drill, formation discipline, field survival instruction, and defensive combat training.
EquipmentNot every Legionnaire carries every listed item at once. Standard soldiers receive basic arms, armor, survival gear, and first-aid supplies, while heavier equipment, survival medpacs, specialized weapons, and advanced field tools are concentrated among medics, patrol leaders, shield-bearers, scouts, and mission-specific detachments.

  • Helmets

Combat FunctionSunfire Legionnaires are the standard infantry of Centerra's Sunfire Legion: trained line soldiers who guard roads, settlements, temples, convoys, and vulnerable civilians. Drawn from Centerra's varied peoples, they serve as scouts, shield-bearers, marksmen, medics, signalers, and disciplined defensive troops. Their doctrine favors restraint, formation discipline, evacuation support, and Duty before glory.

STRENGTHS

StrengthDetails
Disciplined Line InfantrySunfire Legionnaires are trained to move, fire, defend, and withdraw as a coordinated body. They perform best when holding roads, gates, corridors, landing zones, civic sites, and defensive positions.
Well-Equipped Standard TroopsTheir Sunfire-pattern equipment, field kits, medical supplies, formation shields, pikes, blades, and ranged weapons give them better battlefield utility than improvised militia, private guards, or poorly supplied local defense forces.
Protective DoctrineTheir battlefield habits are shaped around defense, escort work, evacuation support, peacekeeping, and controlled force, making them useful in civilian-heavy or politically sensitive deployments.

WEAKNESSES

WeaknessDetails
Not Elite SoldiersSunfire Legionnaires are trained regulars, not Cataphracts, commandos, Dragon-Knights, Jedi, Sith, or named champions. Superior PCs, elite units, and specialized killers can outmatch them in direct confrontation.
Formation RelianceSmoke, jamming, panic, ambushes, sudden close-quarters chaos, poor visibility, or broken command structure can strip away their greatest advantage: coordination.
Mixed-Species LogisticsVaried body plans, armor fittings, ration needs, endurance profiles, and movement styles make supply and deployment more complicated than with a uniform species force.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

CategoryDetails
HistoryThe Sunfire Legionnaires arose from Centerra's need for a disciplined, visible, and reliable defense force: soldiers who could answer raids, keep roads safe, guard settlements, escort convoys, and protect civic or sacred sites without becoming a terror to the people they served. Shaped by a world of forests, mountains, grasslands, rivers, varied settlements, and several peoples under one political order, the Legion learned to adapt its armor, tactics, and formations to different bodies and terrains beneath the same sun-marked standard. Though not all Legionnaires are religious, the Order of the Sunstar and the Temple of the Sun and Moon leave their mark through oaths of restraint, civic protection, and the burden of force. In practice, they are often the first soldiers outsiders meet: checkpoint guards by lantern light, patrols on rain-dark streets, escorts beside refugees, and the armored line standing between frightened civilians and whatever comes howling out of the dark.
