  • Standard subspace and hyperspace communications
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Advanced shield systems. Besides the standard heavy deflector shield systems a secondary molecular shielding component has been integrated into the design.
  • Orbital Yards. Capable of minor repairs and refueling to Didact starships. Any large operations will need to be send further to one of the main shipyards that Didact operates elsewhere though. Pebble drones patrol the station for maintenance and anti-boarding support.
  • Com-scan.
Strengths:
  • Heavy internal and external defenses. These stations are the frontier outposts of Didact and are the main tool they possess to assist with keeping order in the systems they operate in.
  • High armament. If attacked its capable of dishing out a substantial amount of pain.
  • Hangar. It has a maximum of eight squadrons attached to it, ready to go.
Weaknesses:
  • Speed. It isn't going anywhere. Static point and incapable of moving.
  • Maneuverability. It won't dodge anything either, it can only tank the damage it receives until the shielding and armoring gives out.
  • Hyperdrive. Even if it was beneficial to move it, that won't happen in any reasonable emergency timeframe. It needs specialized equipment to be moved. Basically towed out of the system.
Description: The Sunder-class Military Outpost is the primary tool for Didact's force projection in the Galaxy. If it decides to enter a long-standing operational relationship with a system, sector or regional government there is a high chance that the Sunder will be deployed over time. The Sunder is only deployed in systems that are relatively stable, friendly and acceptable of Didact's presence and this is shown in its lack of specialization. It doesn't have an extreme amount of armaments, defenses or hangars, instead opting to be good and balanced in those regions, instead of excelling in an extreme way.

This does mean that it suffers heavily in other areas. It has no hyperdrive, it cannot move or maneuver on its own and needs assistance in the form of other ships to be moved. This makes it a sitting duck and only capable of tanking damage, not avoiding it whatsoever. The Sunder also acts as a supportive station for any Didact ships, minor refueling and repair capabilities allow it to offset the weight from more substantial shipyards Didact operates elsewhere.

Advanced Com-scan systems integrated into the design allow for early warnings and substantial sensory readings in its range. But there are little to any sensor tools to detect stealthed objects, which is a distinct vulnerability.

Standard sublight engines

I don't quite follow this. If this doesn't move, why does it have engines? Was this something to sort of stabilize the station over the world (that's what the repulsorlifts look like to me though)?

Stealth. It has virtually no means to detect stealthed starships, unless they possess a high amount of metal in their hull or similar indirect means. If it's cloaked or nullifying its sensor output? Easy to blindside it.

We can remove this from the weaknesses section. Most ships and space stations, especially mass produced ones, don't have anti-stealth capabilities.

Shields. Vulnerable to breaches by field disruptors that are increasingly more common to the Galaxy.

Same with this.

This isn't to say that neither point is true, but that it's simply normal.

Removed the two redundant weaknesses.

And yeah, I wasn't entirely sure if repulsor lifts by themselves would be enough to keep them afloat, because they actively need gravity to push against?

Whereas these stations could be stationed somewhere in deep space as well. The engines are only functional to keep this thing tethered in one spot and nothing else really.

I think repulsorlifts would be fine for being stationed immediately around a world. Cloud City is quite massive, and solely uses repulsorlifts to stay positioned over Bespin.

Space might arguably be a little trickier. As the old law goes though, An object at rest should stay at rest unless something acts on it, so it shouldn't need any engines to stay stationary. If there is an celestial object with a large enough gravity to affect its position, the repulsorlifts would probably be able to be used to keep it in place. The one exception to this might be a black hole. But I'm pretty sure that this would more likely than not need active thrust (and thus a speed rating) to deal with.

Because of this, I'd probably remove the ion engines.
