- Rapid Response: A Rapid Response Starship outfitted with a high energy output core that ties into the ion engines of the corvette. Increased speed means that the Corvette can deploy faster and reach its destinations sooner. Capable of outrunning the multitude of larger capital ships and standard ships of its class at maximum output it can also keep pace with slower fighters.
- Maneuverability: The Corvette is capable of making sharper turns than other vessels of its class, even at maximum speed. This means that it can out maneuver other vessels and make itself harder to target, especially at range.
- Atmospheric Compatibility: This Class of Corvette is fitted with Atmospheric Friction Shields enabling it to enter planetary atmospheres which larger vessels are often incapable of doing.
- Unguarded Rear: The Corvettes arms are chin mounted or positioned on its flanks meaning that it has limited capability to engage with enemies that are able to position themselves in its aft.
DESCRIPTION
The Stygian-Class Corvette is a rapid response craft utilized by the Inquisitorious to investigate rumors of rogue Force Users and malcontent in the various regions controlled by the Imperial Confederation. Capable atmospheric deployment if required to intimidate small population centers and encourage compliance rather than resistance. It is also deployed outside of Imperial space when required, usually in covert operations, to aid larger vessels or to deploy its forces for ground engagements.
The Corvette measures approximately 160 meters in length with a slim frame a third of that in width and height save for the aft which stretches nominally half of the length. It comes outfitted with a high output energy core so that its ion engines can obtain faster speeds for longer amounts of time, medium turbolaser emplacements for offense/defense and point defense cannons mounted on its spine and underbelly for starfighter defense. It has a hangar capacity large enough for a single squadron of fighters however this is often used to house a pair of Shuttles used for ground deployment.
A Platoon of forty (40) Purgetroopers are stationed on the Corvette to deploy planetside and assist Inquisitors with their duties.
