- Combination of an AT-ST, an X-Wing and a TIE Fighter.
- Engine Booster System.
- Fast: The STX-TIE is quite fast thanks to its combination of TIE and X-Wing engines.
- Maneuverable: Despite its "ugly" heritage, the STX-TIE retains excellent mobility.
- Compact: The STX-TIE is a relatively compact starfighter, making it more difficult to hit.
- Cheap: The STX-TIE is relatively easy to manufacture thanks to its use of pre existing parts.
- Engine boost: The SXT-TIE can temporarily increase its speed with its engine booster system.
- Fragile: Even with deflector shields, the STX-TIE is quite fragile and unable to take hits.
- No hyperdrive: The STX-TIE does not come equipped with any sort of hyperdrive system.
- Maintenance heavy: The STX-TIE requires spare parts from three different vehicles.
- Engine boost: When the STX-TIE engages its booster system, it becomes less maneuverable.
- Limited: The STX-TIE can only boost a certain number of times before the power cell requires replacing.
Unsatisfied with the performance of their TIE Fighters, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has decided to upgrade them with AT-ST and X-Wing parts, creating the STX-TIE "Ugly" Starfighter. Much like its predecessor, the STX-TIE was designed as a fast moving, highly maneuverable space superiority fighter. It is able to achieve this due to the fact that the STX-TIE uses both TIE engines and X-Wing engines at the same time.
The STX-TIE also boasts a number of advanced features, such as a proprietary engine boosting system that runs off AT-ST power cells. When engaged, the engine booster system will allow the STX-TIE to drastically increase its speed at the expense of its maneuverability, though each craft is only able to boost a certain number of times before requiring new power cells.
The STX-TIE is also quite fragile, having only a modestly strong deflector shield and weak hull armor, and only possess an anemic armament system of two laser cannons and two concussion missile launchers. The STX-TIE, like most other TIE Fighters, works best in large numbers, swarming enemy targets before they have a chance to react or fight back.
