Do you remember why our world was forged, brethren? Do you remember why we settled on the land we came to call home? Your fathers, your father's fathers, should have told you the story. Palpatine the Conqueror, the Evil, the Decedent, the Tyrant saw our motherland razed into the beyond. Torched in a moment through his machinations of war. The Stars themselves wept. that is the story, at least. Time has muddled the details, and through the works of whatever Lords of the Aether move the Galactic Winds, our lost motherland was brought back into the void. Right where it was left. We remained, however, those that settled this humble section of dirt, we have remained. New Alderaan remains, and our ties to this soil are made through more than just hope. Through more than just determination. We are not a nation of people that the Galaxy has denied a state because we determine ourselves to be. We are a stateless people because the blood we have spilt to secure our land means nothing. We bleed for the Fatherland, and the Galaxy turns an eye. As it always have, as people after people are subjugated and destroyed. I promise you, we will not go as they have, we will not be forgotten into the twilight.

Being a guerrilla fighter in a past life carries with it some basic benefits, such as knowing exactly how much explosives to pack underneath the road to collapse it nearly entierly, how many rockets it can take to destroy the joints of an ATST, and where exactly to punch a man mid speech (it's the throat). Storren has a history of leading men into the breach, blaster in hand, hooting and hollering as they raged against a superior force. This plays into his ability to engage the enemy, not only on a tactical level, but on on a personal one as well.
Hell Bound Turn Radius
While a walker may not be... well the most maneuverable vehicle on the field at any given time. There are specifications on how to get the most mileage out of the hulking mass. When to shoot, what the cooling time on the main gun is, and how important line of sight is when making a push. Storren has managed to get everything about piloting a walker down to nearly a mathematical, utterly hammered out method. Something he calls the SWAT method. Shoot, wait, approach, think.

Not Here For a Long Time
His work with the NIO is strickly on a here and now basis, in Order to help detract from the TSE occupation of his homeworld. Putting pressure on another front will help him in the long run.
Wanted Terrorist
Storren has done many, many awful things to many many people. This, on one hand, has given him a reputation that gets a drink or two thrown his way in a bar, it has also made him more enemies than he would ever care to count.

Desperate
Storren needs ammunition, both literal and metaphoric, to free his homeworld. He would sell his soul to the devil if it would help, and even then, it's up to debate if that would even do anything.
Ultra-Nationalist
Storren believes, entierly, in the New Alderaani ideals, though that may change minute to minute depending on what he needs. They are the grandest of all the nations to him, and the only one that he truly sees any value in. The work against TSE in service of the NIO is simply pragmatic.
