- Onboard self-destruct system, able to be remotely-activated via coded communications by top-tier CIS personnel.
- Biometric security, internal security system, and coded IFF transponders ensure access to various portions of the vessel to be "Need Only".
- Small but potent armaments array provides varying-range protection against threats, including point defenses, heavy cannon turrets for larger ships, light concussion missile launchers, and a single super-heavy weapon for 'break contact' purposes.
- Powerful sensor arrays offer extensive long-range scanning and early-warning options, even against other stealth ships or ships exiting hyperspace.
- Powerful encrypted hyperwave communications enable stealthy communications virtually anywhere, and are able to act as relays or as listening stations also. Can suspend or disrupt enemy communications also.
- Probe deployment system allows for discreet remote survey and scanning of a planet or other astronomical object.
- Notable onboard data storage and computing power and space, able to hold entire archives and libraries' worth of information in its massive database.
- Extensive stealth package all but ensures a ship will remain beyond detection by most sensors and scans, even powerful military grade. Also able to avoid visual detection except through close-range inspection.
- Noise inhibitors used throughout the ship render it eerily silent inside, while motion-activated blackout lighting leaves it generally dark inside.
- Extensive automation and all-droid crew ensures ship remains 'invisible' to life-form scans and limits need for life support except when organics are aboard.
- Ship boasts remote command facilities, including holotables, mission briefing / planning rooms, medical bay, mess hall, barracks facilities, and other areas specific to Spartan military standards.
- Variable hangars allow drop-pods, dropships, shuttles, and other craft to be used, as well as facilities for starfighters for special operations missions.
- Low armaments and hangar space make this ship ill-suited for direct combat actions, instead relying on stealth, speed, and maneuverability to avoid enemy forces and evade risks to its safety. If discovered and 'boxed in', the ship has little hope of escaping larger ships or heavy attacks, and may suffer considerable damage.
- Self-destruct sequence can only be initiated remotely by the highest levels of CIS authority, and once activated, cannot be undone, even by personnel aboard. If the unthinkable happens and these select individuals are compromised, and destruct sequence is initiated then, the crew cannot prevent destruction of the ship and possibly themselves.
- Failure to return and reinstall Thoth A.I. within 24 hours once emergency disengagement is made results in the ship's systems and data being disabled, deleted, and left derelict - rendering the ship wholly inoperable. Such disengagements should not be made with anything less than absolute care and mindfulness.
- Notable advanced systems and stealth technologies make repairs from serious damage difficult and time-consuming, requiring special facilities and personnel, and truly serious damage to the ship cannot be repaired quickly or easily even if such resources are available.
- Wholesale automation and droid crew means that in the event of an emergency, crews aboard may lack the creativity and ingenuity of organics and be unable to respond in the most efficient or productive manners.
- Low hangar space allows for only a single squadron of starfighters, making the ship - if caught in direct combat - vulnerable to overwhelming numbers of enemy fighters often carried on larger ships and a prolonged battle will quickly deplete it's force projection capabilities.
Eerily silent, with muted black-out lighting and a labyrinthine interior, the Stormcrow is like someplace ripped from your nightmares! Entirely automated, the ship doesn’t even run life support unless an organic is aboard. Instead, it sits alone in the darkness of space, like some ghost ship adrift against the stars, waiting to be called to action by the CIS’ Ministry of Secrets.
When summoned, the black ship silently arrives at its pre-determined position, awaiting arrival of Ministry of Secrets personnel. Once aboard, these clandestine agents find that their every need is provided for. Armories, bristling with weapons, ‘spy’ equipment, armors and specialized gear, supplies, everything agents will need to carry out their missions. Medical facilities with surgical droids on standby to treat wounds and render lifesaving aid if required, or else to perform cosmetic surgery to change an operative’s appearance, implant cybernetics, or whatever else is needed. Barracks facilities and dining halls are spartan, stripped to bare necessities and lacking any comforts beyond efficient, austere, and minimalist requirements. Command center and briefing areas allow mission planning, coordination, and supervision by leadership, supported by vast archives and analytical systems designed to painstakingly sort, sift, and digest information collected. Hangars permit support craft, dropships, drop-pods, drones, and more, and if needed, space enough for a special operations squadron. This ship can serve as mission command, a remote listening post, remote slicing, reconnaissance vessel, or operation platform, whatever the Ministry of Secrets needs for it to do, it can.
The entire vessel is heavily-monitored, with onboard biometric security, cameras, stealth recorders, and other means designed to ensure against saboteurs, spies, raiders and boarding parties, and even against unauthorized access by agents of the Ministry seeking admission to restricted areas. Noise inhibitors throughout prevent eavesdropping, and shipwide sweeps for enemy listening devices, etc. are made every half hour. The hallways and corridors are darkened and droid crews barely interact with visiting Ministry personnel. All droids are memory wiped every six hours to prevent compromise, and only the Thoth A.I. remains to supervise the craft.
Should this ship become compromised, an onboard self-destruct sequence detonates a 25 kiloton yield, 3m thermos-nuclear device, buried deep inside the bowels of the ship, ensuring its total annihilation as well as anything in the immediate proximity. Knowledge of this system, and the ability to trigger it, is held only by the highest echelons of the CIS, that being its Vicelord and Exarchs, as well as the Minister of Secrets. Triggering the destruct sequence requires two of these four individuals, acting in concert, to initiate self-destruct, and once begun using a highly encrypted hyperwave communication code, the ship detonates in ten minutes’ time. It cannot be disabled or prevented, since the device is not accessible from within the ship.
Welcome to the Stormcrow.
