Still Images or Gif Images?

Just out of curiosity i suppose. What do ya'll prefer for avatars, signatures, tags, and ect? Do you like a good gif image or do you prefer static images? I know i tend to like gifs a bit depending on who and what said gif is of, but for original art i certainly lean towards still images.

Stills sometimes say a lot more than a gif...leave much more to a viewers imagination.

But do like gifs. Some here have the best gif sigs I've ever seen.
